I mean I understand privacy and every friendship is different, but if you were to tell me you had a GF/Wife and been dating for years on end and didn't tell me then I wouldn't consider us friends and would assume we're acquaintance instead...

I agree, the friend sounds like a decent guy. About half of Reddit is just nuts, lol. Statistically, about 14% of the global population suffers some form of mental illness. A disproportionate amount of them only have social interactions online because they've burned bridges with everyone in real life, so they flock to places like Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, etc. And a lot of people project their own issues and insecurities. OP's girlfriend was unhinged. Intrusive, paranoid, snooping / eavesdropping, was quick to jump to insane conclusions, and people having "privacy" is an afront to her very being. Given how casually Reddit suggests shit like snooping on a spouses devices or installing hidden cameras, calling out her bad behavior probably made some of them defensive, lol.

Right? I feel terrible for her as well. OP DID do something when she realized her daughter was coming home with rashes and then working around trying to take care of her herself. Personally, I think she would have gone to the doctor even if she had not posted to Reddit. She would have known the rashes were not normal. And I despise anyone who commented like that one comment about how it WAS OP's fault because she didn't realize what was happening. I'm sure her therapist is reassuring her that it was not her fault.

I started thinking the other couple was being just neglectful, using allergic products or delaying diaper changing out of laziness, hence the rashes (baby skin is very delicate, you leave poop for too long it starts to erupt). But when it escalated to burns and then a pediatrician pointing out the worse... Yikes!

My mom and dad were the same. Except we were a joint family, so they left us kids with his siblings and my grandparents. Long story short, one of our uncles molested me at 11-12 years of age and turns out have been doing this to my older sibling and cousins. And I personally was also molested by mom's sister's husband when we visited. I was an adolescent child back when it used to happen. So no, I don't understand my parents not letting us go to have slumber parties or anyone's house, when we were already raised amongst wolves in sheep's clothing. When they never warned us about good touch bad touch and only reiterated stranger danger.

It sounds like it. The "Good News", the story is likely fake. There was 4 months between the first post and "They will be sentenced next week"... Not a chance. There was no evidence tying the "friends" to the child's injuries explicitly, so police would not have been granted a warrant that easily unless they were already investigating from one of the other children involved. Also trials take a long time. 18 months minimum for something like this, even with a confession. Let's assume they confessed and were offered a plea deal and chose to plead guilty immediately... (unlikely considering the probable charges), that could move things through court faster, but still not THAT fast. No prosecutor dealing with someone who is making child content like that is going to offer any deals at all without going through discovery and actually looking at all the evidence. Discovery in most states is 21 days. And it doesn't start until the other side has retained a defense attorney, been arraigned, both sides agree to a schedule (which they'll try to push back for as long as they can), and sentencing is often put off for 30-90 days after the verdict, due to court scheduling, to give the judge time to review all sentencing guidelines, and to let tempers cool a bit before a sentence is handed out. It just looks better for the judge if some time has elapsed so they can't be accused of making an irrational decision based on their personal feelings about the case. That's not always true in these cases, but it is common. A lot depends on the state as that can impact timelines dramatically, but I'm being pretty conservative in my estimates here. I don't see an initial report, a police investigation, the raising of charges, an arraignment, discovery, a plea or verdict and sentencing happening in such a case in just 4 months. Military tribunals don't move that fast. This is most likely a work of fiction.

OP's girlfriend overheard them talking and her mind made it into OP got the wife pregnant. That post ends with OP finding out his girlfriend was pregnant at the time and stressed from finding that out made her think OP was cheating. So in the end, the friend's wife is pregnant as well as OP's ex-girlfriend.

well for starters they definitely just meant therapy for the parents but also therapy is useful as soon as you begin being able to speak esepcially with the type of trauma she underwent

Did you not hear how the 1 year old was assaulted? And the therapy is more for her fear of the diaper change, because that's where her pain was coming from.

The 1 year old was abused, it's not gonna be talk therapy, at least not yet probably. My assumption is that it will likely just be routinely re-training her to know that being changed isn't going to lead to something bad, and she won't be hurt again. Lots of reassurance and just being put back in the mindset that she is safe.

To be fair i used to take care of my friends kids for free when they looked stressed , i wanted a buddy who wouldn’t complain about randomly going to the zoo or wherever or just wanted to bond with them. And it was for consecutive days sometimes. Just requested their baby bag stocked the carseats and stroller. My alarm bell was the op saying main caretaker was the working from home guy. Either Friend was leaving child to him being irresponsible or something was off for HIM to be main caretaker. But tornado sirens at overnight visits. Diaper rash went in with friend being irresponsible and he didn’t have the time to immediately go attend to child , because he’s working. I hope those kids are ok.
