Story 1: Stepfamily wants OP to give his dad a chance. They only know him from the rose colored glasses they've seen him through. Now they are crying and arguing because dad's mask slipped, he showed everyone who he really is. Turns out, OP was 100% right about who his dad was and everyone now knows it.

I think the judge who said Op should reconcile is an ass too even if he was still a minor, at last around 17 the courts could've heard op for his opinion. Ut he got stuck with a person he didn't want to be around till he turned 18

Exactly, he forced someone who is only related to him genetically to live with him because he wanted to feel validated as a father. He wanted Op’s forgiveness so he could sleep at night not so Op could be happy. He’s expressed since day 1 what he wants is to not be anywhere near his bio father

The most messed up part of this story is that the step siblings don't even seem to comprehend that OP is telling them something for their own damn good. The man that they are so in love with is not a good man, and proved it by openly admitting from his own mouth that he would abandon them for OP's forgiveness.

Ops dad is trying to overcompensate from the guilt eating him inside. He lost one daughter and now he knows he’ll never get to reconcile so now he’s trying with his son. What he doesn’t realize is he lost his son a long time ago and there’s no reconciliation. He abandoned them and then went to play house with another woman who has three kids. So you gave up your biological children to play house to three other children who apparently have very high views of you. Even if he didn’t wanna be with their mother he could’ve still been there for the children. It has to hurt to know not only did he leave but he played father to three other children. Op is gonna leave and never look back. And now the dad has likely ruined his relationship with the new family as well.

Because the stepfather just had to be present and the equivalent of the fun uncle. Step parents have lower expectations especially from spouses that had come out of a failed relationship or a bad marriage. The bar of expectations is so low.

Story 1 is insane. Dad has to hold his horses and make rational decisions. Why give up people who love you, for someone who doesn’t. Take the L and let the kid(bio son) move on!
@Maninawig
@Maninawig 3 месяца назад
Assume for a moment that he is thinking rationally. Then the question would lead to why did he fight for his son and not his daughter? Why so long before fighting? What does a blood son have that adoptive kids and a blood daughter doesn't? The only thing I can think of is inheritance and legacy. His son will carry out the family name and the father's sizable inheritance might be dependant on reconciliation of the next heir to the family name.

First story, definitely Nta and to those who think op's a "horrible teenager" bruh go sit down somewhere and be quiet, op rightfully snapped at their fake as heII dna sharer who was only thinking about relieve his guilt, and not even caring about op at all while doing so and having dna sharer's family especially the stepkids downplay op's feelings and experiences for years and even insulted/call op out op's name, one of the stepkids was 16 old way old enough to know better then to barge, into op's room and call op names, And don't get me started on the red flag of op's dna sharer and his wife not allowing op to see his old friends and especially op's relatives, you know the people who was taking care of op after the accident, even if they couldn't visit op's hometown there is no mention of them letting the friends or relatives vist op not even once, Like bruh naw that don't sound right, so I'm glad op is about to get out of there.

1st story: OP NTA. Wish to hear more on backstory of life before mom and sister died (Very sorry for your loss. Clearly, you miss and love them. Know, despite them being gone, they're still with you in spirits and will continue to watch over you.), living with other family members before dad, out of the blue, decided to make you come live with him and his "family" and for updates. Hope you're doing okay, how life is going (Job. Dreams. Love. Healing. Etc...), and were able to go back to your family that cared and loved you. And, for your dad (Feel like Sperm Donor would be more efficient than calling him "Dad", since he hadn't been a dad and is a deserter. And, really, the true AH.) and his "family" (Probably not a family, anymore, after saying he'll abandon them, if it meant "Making it right" with you.) to stop forcing reconciliation, make you become "part of their family" and leave you alone.
@m.c.9419
@m.c.9419 3 месяца назад
Story 1 - I love that op indirectly showed the stepkids and their mom that his sperm donor is still that same piece of crap that abandoned his previous family for over ten years. If a judge hadn't ordered it this man would still be living out his delusions of being a good husband and a great father. Those stepkids need to understand that part of the reason op's sperm donor seemed like such a great dad was because it was easy for him to act the role in order to get into their mom's pants. I want to feel sorry for the stepkids but I don't? But I do at the same time? Must have been devastating to know just how little they mattered if op's sperm donor thought he had a chance to reconcile with his biological child. Story 2 - That's robbery. Family or not. Op's dad straight up stole his child's scholarship money and the boasted like he supported the family. That's definitely grounds for going scorched earth. I don't understand how being disowned is a threat if mom is an illegal immigrant. Op's parents made really poor decisions for their lives. They sound like jerks that absolutely deserve each other. Story 3 - Pi is a psycho. He deserved everything that happened to him.

Odd. Something is missing from Story1. May just be me. I find it strange that suddenly the dad is all about reconciliation with someone he abandoned years ago while raising his stepkids during that time. Like what is he getting out of reconciliation now? Selfish people do nothing out of the goodness of their heart. There is always a hidden agenda somewhere.

Can you blame them? Years of Parental abandonment, being raised by a single mom w/ two kids, only to have the one parent they've known all their life die with their sibling. And while trying to deal with all of this with family, the dad shows up out of nowhere and the courts give him his custody back against OP's desires. So while dealing with all of that, OP has to leave behind friends, relatives family, and school, to move to a whole new state with complete strangers. So now all those feelings of abandonment are back, plus he now misses his friends and family, while being badgered by overly pushing people who couldn't care about his for all their life up until that point. Honestly, the dad is lucky all OP is doing is emotionally lashing out, because that's enough for a lot of kids to get on drugs or commit s~ because that's a lot to handle at that age. And the court system failed OP big time. And the dad is probably overcompensating because of guilt because of his first kid/daughter, who unfortunately passed after being absent from the vast majority of her life.

@yeyosilver7067 nope hard disagree, honestly op was way more calm then some in that situation, op had they feelings and experiences downplay for years, Had to listen to other kids having fun with dna sharer, and hearing dna sharer "is a good guy" when op knows otherwise, And then not have wishes being heard, like op wanting see their old friends and especially relatives, you know the relatives who took care of op after the accident, yeah op wasn't able to see them, because of his dna sharer willingly ignore thar wish, so op was cut off from people they knew and cared about because this ahole adult ignoring him, But "op's a horrible teenager" nope he is just someone tried of being ignored and downplay by everyone who never respected him nor truly cared about him while missing people who did, like anyone else would.

I do not blame OP for not forgiving his deadbeat father and refusing any chance of reconciliation. His father literally left his own family just to play house with another, that’s extremely unforgivable and good on OP for not kissing up his dad’s ass like his new wife and kids are doing. The sheer audacity of OP’s stepsiblings to call OP’s sister “their sister” and then babbling on about how their dad was there for them when he wasn’t even there for OP. It’s quite funny how they’re upset that now OP’s dad is more than willing to abandon them just to rekindle with OP, I bet they’re realizing that they aren’t any different than OP as they believed they were.
