Every second with him on screen I had a huge smile. This shows when given good material hes at the top of the A list. And he isn't part of that weird Hollywood degenerate weirdo cult he lives in Australia. He should get an oscar
Personallyi did not like his character too much. He is trying to be funny to often. All Mad Max villains were a bit silly at times. But they still had a real intense threat coming from them. Toecutter was silly and weird and a little funny at times but he was also intensly sick and unnerving. Lord Humangus was great because he never even acknowledges Max himself. His voice and deceiving trying to sweet talk Papagallos people. And his psycho homosexual lapdog Wez was fantastic. Thunderdome had no true villain. And Fury road needs no explanation. But Hemsworth feels like is trying to be a combination of Toecutter Humangus and Joe but still being wacky..
Love how she can't even refute him. She hates him so much but she finally sees how absolutely broken he is. Like Max himself could've turned out this way if he didnt keep his wits about him.
@@Will-dn9dqthis isn't how he played Thor or any of his other characters. So it quite literally is showing off range. Just because you lack the intelligence to comprehend that, doesn't change the facts
@@brettbrooks5511 just because you think he's hot an a good actor. Doesn't make it so. Just like the fact you insult my intelligence on a 2 word post. Doesn't make you any better then a 12yr girl w no friends an a daddy's play hole. Your a horrible waste of good air.
@@brettbrooks5511*”Lack the comprehension to understand that”.. 😅 dam nerd relax, he didn’t like his acting.. so what? Kinda goofy how you wouldn’t have a problem had they agreed with your pov. It’s all subjective so if someone doesn’t like it, they don’t like it n if they do, koo 🤷🏽♀️*
@@ogsloppnbiscuiitz1108 dude shut up. I don't care for Hemsworth most times but he was quite good in this. If he wanted to say he didn't like it then he could have said that. But instead he chose to be a dick, so that's the energy he got back. He didn't have to post if he didn't like it. I'm sure he can handle his own battles, go white knight elsewhere
I think GW took noise marines as an inspiration from the old retro mad max. Hard rock and sound blasting freaks using sonic weapons. Look at Immortan Joes mask for instance, very similar to what a noise marines mask looks like
She planted a seed in his belly, and let a tree grow through him. While he is chained down and barely fed anything while the tree grows further killing him. @@alant9517
I'd like to think he wasn't always like this. Or maybe he was like this and the apocalypse just made him more deranged. Or maybe he was like Max, a normal man with a family that was taken from him and went more Mad than Max.
He went mad to the Max. Maximum levels of mad. Here I thought Chris was taking time off from acting because he found out he was high risk for either dementia or Alzheimer's. But here he is, carrying another movie, and doin a good job with it too. Now if only they could get Mel to make an appearance....
“Do you have it in you to make it epic?” Let’s recap. There’s four scenarios of your death, Dementus. You were shot, dragged to death, crucified, and then had a tree growing out of your ding-a-ling. Epic is a bit of an understatement.
As someone who's dealt with depression really negatively at times through hedonism, I really related to the ending of furiosa. I loved how human Dementus was, you understood him, but the movie never excused him for his actions. And I like how furiosa realizes he is a little right in that speech, that she is acting like him, relishing in another's pain to smother her own for a little bit. And while she can never truly leave that part of her behind (the peach tree) she can grow from this pain and try to bring relief and goodness to others. I'm just rambling now, but this movie deserved a way better box office.
The fact that he never gave here anything close showed u how broken and done he was he didn’t care for anything she did to him and she will never feel happy or full again because she never screamed or cried or suffer like they did he just one crazy tank with no regrets
@GaryGoat350 I am and believe it or not, I have a different opinion than you. All the other villians, while looking cool (most of them) never actually engaged much into the story, firstly there was toecutter who would of never made it into the apocalypse propper and was just awful, but played well. Then there's the Lord Humongous, who while his voice is amazing, outfit is amazing, does jack shit in mad max 2, he just threatens the compound and in the end kills both himself and Wez (and he killed Papa Giallo so I guess he gets half a point.) Are we counting wez? If so then again more of same, he looks cool, sounds cool, he's more involved than Humongous, but still not an amazing "villian" Then we have aunty entity, the villian who isn't a villan, cool outfit and Tina Turner is always an A+ and the fact she isn't a villan, she's just brutal in her methods to bring civilisation back, that's what makes her number 2 for me. Then there's imortian Joe, amazing outfit, played amazingly by the actor for toe cutter, but again him as a villian? He plays the same role as Humongous, sending his underlings after them and I honestly find his civilisation built around him more interesting than him. Now are we including the game? If so scrotus is more of looks cool but does very little, he's serviceable and only doesn't get bottom place cause toecutter is a permanent resident. And now as to why I love dementus, he has multiple little facits in him, he has all these little half threads that might explain his past but in the end could all be made up or half true, we don't know but he's a perfect example of someone with a shattered psychie unable to stop himself from living but requiring high amounts of blood and violence to keep going. In addition, he plays a massive part in the movie, he's ever constant and playing major notes in the life of Furiousa, that's why I love him. How's that? Did I prove my knowledge of mad max to you oh great shagger of goats?
Nahnahmah hear me out... A new Firefly show with him as Serenitys new Cap'n. Same ship, no explanation as to what happened to Mal and everyone else but same format.
Ehh, I think your overexaggerating Hemsworth's performance. I do agree that Hemsworth went all out in this role and I am kind of excited to see him take on more villain roles and maybe perhaps some serious ones as well. I mean, this movie shows us what Chris Hemsworth can do other than being the golden-haired Norse god. But his performance as Dementus is nowhere near Heath Ledger's Joker. It is certainly up there but not close.
She just vindicated everything he said to her and she did what he wanted her to. The fact that the writer gave him an epic speech and proved his point in the end is something that doesn't usually happen in movies
In Fury Road end of civilization happened roughly 33 years ago unless you accept the feral boy theory which would make it roughly 40-odd years. A lot of the wastelanders were alive when civilization ended. There are also history men. That being said did you not hear half the shit that came out of their mouths? Bossority? (authority). Word burger? (definition). Guzaline? (petrol/gasoline). Muscle up your memory? (educate).
This was honestly such a powerful moment. He's turning her own driving force against her. Anger got her to this moment, but what will she do when he's gone? The anger won't just disappear, no matter how righteous the killing. I love that she found a way that he didn't anticipate, and manages to be both more brutal & beautiful than anything he could imagine.
I like how he specifies that it’s loaded with rat shot which is basically buck shot but it has very smaller balls or pellets in it or with modern rat shot the bullet breaks up when it leaves the barrel
Dementus was unmatched as a villain for the franchise, it doesn’t even matter if Joe was better, he truly stood out as the mad fucker he is. I’m so happy they never humiliated him or made him beg, he’s perfect the way he is.
When did the joker get so beefy? Seriously, this does feel like the kind one monologue that a version of joker would have. Props to Hemsworth for turning this movie from good to great on his own gloriously jacked shoulders.
👀 Someone saw Clockwork Orange and decided to channel that energy wonderfully. I think this is also my personal favorite part Mr. Hemsworth has played, that I've seen. Other than drunk n' fat Thor 😅.
Man that prosthetic nose they had him in really took me outta the movie every time he was on screen in a close up. Fr a different color than the rest of his face and almost see through. Someone didn't account for how tan his face would get making the movie in Australia.
Imagine the guy you want to take revenge from litterally going "I did so much worse to you! IF you ever want to get close to this being satisfying you better do something to me that is far worse than death!"
This movie is much better than many people seem to think. And the cool part about his death is that we dont really know how he died. She could have shot him, or left him to die, or planted a tree seed in his butthole and let it slowly grow out of his stomach. We don't know for sure.
Didn't even show the whole clip? The narrator states how there are many theories on how he was killed, some say she shot him right there, others that she dragged him across the wasteland in a poetic justice, then it cuts to the top of the oasis where it is revealed that he is still alive with a peach tree growing out of his stomach in a form of torture
If it was said that Aemond is Daemons son... I could buy it. Of course he isn't. Its interesting, Aemond actually gets to play King... whilst Daemon never came close to it. I like the irony and parallels between the two that are cut from the same cloth.
Guys I thought it was a ok start with Hemsworth. At the end of this I couldn’t believe how much he made the entire bad guy thing disappear into him being completely right. That make an actor that makes a character a that makes a movie!
Wait. Why the fuck is a Lemat doing in a mad max film? That is hands down one of the rarest blackpowder revolvers in the world. How would one appear in a post-apocalypic Austrila?
But the death scene was not... that shot. We still dont know, the narrator was adamant about that. But that tree? With the seed? Now that, that is a fitting death. "Do it slow."
