She started drugs when she was young. she wanted to see if it was really that good that her father chose that over her

As someone who can relate to this song to a degree, it's weirdly refreshing to know that other people have such bad relationships with their parents. That its okay to have conflicting feelings about them not being around.

Her father was schizophrenic and bipolar and struggled with drugs and alcohol and abandoned them and abused them mentally emotionally and psychically. Then passed away from cancer. After he passed the hatred demi felt had kind of left her and she wrote this song.
