Demi hit a C#6 in a mix, and I'm shocked that she was able to do it. Her voice is the best it has been over the years. Those Bb5 and C#6 notes were heady, but remember that hitting chesty tones at such a high pitch is very challenging. What do you think about this C#6?

they're are amazing, it definitely is heady mix belt, it's so high!!! she has been pitchy lately and now it's clear to me that it was becasue they're developing a new technique! i wonder how other rock versions will sound

There have been some new techniques out there atm i guess she's using that one method that creates an "barrier" for larynx (you do it with your tongue placement) it allows your voice to just flow

@@vocalanalysispl6486yeah, and tbh it sounds like she can hit even higher notes than C#6 🤭 also their head voice hot stronger (it results in a stronger mix as well) and her vibrato has never sound that way (similar but it's different now)

A mix voice is still a mix voice she did it that prouve that everything is possible with right technique she slay that should join her chest mix register what a true soprano she is

She honestly outdid herself, she was incredible! Being able to reach these Bb5's, B5's and C#6 in a connected way with ease is very commendeble. She must be in a state of feeling like anything is possible. Having this vocal freedom makes you feel like that, it's very liberating and gives you a wide range to express your emotions within. It might be healing for her to reach those notes, express those emotion and therefore be able to reinvent herself, revamping songs from her amaing song cathalogue, exceeding people's expectations and break limitations and prove people wrong. She's been through a lot so she definitely deserves to explore her extended range, new vocal abilities and to have this new confidence that comes along with it. I agree that it definitely sounds like the notes over G#5 get a much headier quality to them. I feel like that is because she doesn't increase the intensity in her singing. She sings the notes in a very medium intensity way and a more powerful sound, especially up that high, needs more air pressure and it's hard to resist higher air pressure, hence why it's harder to keep the deeper, more chest voicy parts of the vocal folds zipped up on higher notes. They naturally want to turn over and become more heady. They're still connected to her chest voice, but just slighty, it gets the rounder quality of head voice. She would need to increase the intensity of the note when going above G#5 to make It sound more like full voice. It helps to slide up to the note rather than jumping up to it as a bigger intensity often comes gradually, usually not all at once, unless you have a h-onset to the note like she did in the studio recording of Stone Cold for example. The highest I've heard her sing nowadays in full chest voice is G5. Here are some full chest voice examples of her singing recently which is very impressive, it's hard to get your full voice up to F#5 and G5 notes and it's especially not easy on short phrases like that: - G5 in Skyscraper at 7:58 on phrase "try" - G5's in Cool For the Summer at 8:20 - 8:24 on phrases "Don't be scared" - G5's at 8:31-8-32 on phrases "you and I" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Il5YoTrNgbs.htmlsi=D_Hih-XeDAB8g2ti - F#5-E5-slide at the End of phrase "alive" in Skin Of My Teeth at 3:40 - Again on the phrases "don't be scared" in Cool For the Summer at 4:15-4:18 - Again on "you and I" in CFTS 4:24 - 4:26 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nxRUj9vRnvg.htmlsi=BJXbuHSZPQAH2Ah_ Maybe a future video idea - conparing her full chest voice notes to notes with more chest voice presence although not full chest voice and headier connected notes. Here are also some examples of what I Mean when I talk about jumping, sliding and having an h-word and how they affect how intense the tone is. At about 0:28 in this clip I jump up to a bb5 and it becomes more heady, like Demi gets on the notes above G#5. It's especially comparable to her C#6 as we both jump up to the notes and I might even do it faster than her, which makes the note more heady. At 0:32 in the clip I slide up to a B5 and it becomes more intense with more chest voice than before, like a "balanced mixed voice" of you will, but it doesn't have the edge of full chest voice: ru-vid.comsBXTOWM0dlQ?si=M6TZKT7YYnQ1twuZ Then in this clip I'm singing the climax of Stone Cold and jump up to a Bb5 before I sustain the G#5. As I have a harder h in her, that really help me get that full chest voice all the way through the phrase: ru-vid.comdu2JWK03Ocg?si=SCKGZusGAz856_hc In this clip you hear me sliding up to a bb5-note that gradually becomes full chest voice as well: ru-vid.comkomrd_7qBpA?feature=shared I'm sure Demi would be able to get more chest in the sound above G5/G#5 if she would slide up to the note and gradually increase her intensity or using an h-onset to the note. It works on phrases to as long as you sing into them and increase the intensity, bur it's harder. Morissette Amon was able to sing in full chest voice on Dream On phrases on A5 and bb5 which was very impressive, but she had some trouble with the pitches in the beginning. Watch at 2:12 - 2:23 in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iVnDtLw69EY.htmlsi=I7IxgDa8q6DQNUdr So slides and h-onsets on sustained vowel definitely easier than jumps and phrases when It comes to getting more chest voice in the sound. It might be hard on C6 and C#6 as they naturally want to go more heady, but nothing is impossible. I've been able to take more chest voice up to C6, C#6 and D#6, both those times I thought I sang a lower note than I actually did. So that can be a trick as well, to trick the mind into that the note is lower than it is 😂 I love to see my idols Demi and Morissette still find New techniques and evolving constantly even though they've been singing for so long and I've only been singing three years and am also frequently experimenting with New techniques. They're so humble for doing that, especially Demi who even takes voice lessons. I'm living for her vocal surprises, confidence and reinvention these days! Hope you found my explainations and examples helpful by the way, vocal stuff is tricky but Oh so interesting, I nerd out on it all the time!

Very impressive. My technique sounds the same when I hit those C#6s our voices are similar I guess but for sure she's better than me. Quick question was the C#6 flat?

Idk but I definitely went flat every time I attempted it😅 I mean a C6 is still impressive so whatever

For me she can sing to G5/G#5 and that is enough. She has nice range but her life was not easy and that had an influence on her voice (see solo live performance, changing registers was a challenge for her)
