I actually remember sober coming out and I was immediately thinking “this girl is going to overdose” and “I hope someone is helping her”

When she released sober I was honestly worried as hell. I was like this doesn’t sound good and when it happened I was like “fuck”

the fact that she played sober in front of everyone on the tour, like all of her dancers, and they all just smiled and clapped and said “good song!!” and then immediately after wrote anyone that says “nobody’s listening to me” hurts so much

I wasn’t impressed with anything her mom did and said throughout the doc. I found her blasé attitude toward the end pretty alarming.

her mom didn't hold herself accountable for so much shit. like parents aren't perfect but she was using drugs to cope IN FRONT OF DEMI. i feel like she also distanced herself so much and could've done so much more. i dont know if demi was the one who distanced herself but her mom definitely did some shit

Doubt she blames her mom for putting her in pageants at that age considering her mom didn’t it do so with the any intention of causing trauma... (No comment on Mom’s behalf later on, haven’t seen anything about it, but interested to catch up and see where y’all might be coming from) but keep in mind victims typically don’t pass all or much, if any, blame onto family/loved ones for unknowingly playing a truly unintentional role in unforeseen harm and trauma. Good intentions before awareness are not damning just bc the outcome was heartbreaking!

I think it’s so wrong she stood up for Scooter. What Scooter did represents everything what’s wrong in music world. Taylor is powerful and has a huge fan base but think about all other artists that doesn’t and went through something similar alone. Also I think it’s very important for women to support women. For me what Demi did was just wrong.

It’s not that we think they’re only doing it for attention, but they have a history of having problems, overcoming said problems and relapsing into problems. They’re so problematic sticking their nose into others business and makes documentary after documentary. They just need to focus on themself and get their life together out of the public eye because it’s just dragging out into a drama saga

She’s free to do whatever she wants, but she’s clearly still using substances to cope which isn’t going to end well. She said it herself in the documentary, she’s using the substances to get “relief”. If you’re a recovering addict and still using substances as a way to cope then you’re not in a place where you can use in moderation. She’s still too dependent. It’s not going to end well.

That is not how the real world of addiction works. It’s not sunshine and butterflies. Supporting someone doesn’t mean kissing their ass and acting like everything’s going to be fine. Sometimes to support people, you need to be honest, realistic, and not enable them. The people around her, whether they see it or not, are enabling her. It’s sad because that isn’t what she needs right now. She doesn’t need a bunch of “employees” telling her she’s fine.

i'm also kinda worried but it would be difficult, and in extreme cases, fatal, to cut cold turkey. i hope "moderation" is truly moderation.

I believe that now that Demi has opened up so much more about the traumatic events of her life instead of repressing these things, she will be much better with coping. The fact that she has truly come to terms with her sexuality is an extremely important part of her life and I think she will be victorious.

@@whodatninja439 i get that. i don’t entirely trust it either but i also feel like she’s doing things much differently in terms of talking about it more with the people around her. instead of holding it in, she tells the necessary people so they know to keep an eye on her. unfortunately we don’t see her everyday so we can’t really speak about it like we know. it’s scary but i have faith that she won’t go back to that place again.

@@yuvalgerhard8169 I am not saying at all that she is not allowed to make mistakes, it's something normal for everyone, it just gives me the feeling that now she has taken this position of "I don't shut up anymore, I do wherever I want" and she doesn't think much in what that really means, if you don't want to be part of the media world, perfect, but if you are going to continue being a famous person that people idialize, you have to be careful.
