Demo 1 (SCED-00238) on the PS1 

I'm 30 and I can't stop watching it... This was first thing I saw when I turned on my present from my parents in 1996

I got chills from the startup sound alone... not sure I can handle this level of nostalgia. what a time to be alive

god if I could go back in time to play those incredible games, with a first time experience all over again, I would to it instantly....

You know you did everything right if you still remember every sound, every moment in every game you had. Long life Sony Playstation!

This was when games were fun and you did not need to basically pay for the game a second time with dlc to get the full experience. I believe my parents were right when they said i'd miss my childhood. My young gaming years, aha. Mega Drive and PS1. Abe, Tomb Raider, Crash, Sonic and Splatterhouse. I feel old, i'm only 25.

It’s a bit like ecstasy in that it was big in the 90’s, the visuals were dope and that you’ll never experience what you felt the first time around...

the old demos have more fucking sound effects action and passion made into them than most fucking modern games! how embarrassing! even the loading screen were amazing! flipped out! fazed out!

every weekend my cousin and I would wake at at 5am just to play ps1 demos lol... oh the days!

Omg hearing this music brings me back, holy hell that's long ago, I remember playing Actua Golf a lot because it didn't have a time limit because I didn't have any money to buy a real playstation game yet, because I spend all that money on buying my $600 Playstation... ouch that was a lot of money... I literally saved up for years in order to buy that thing.

man its so mental how the brain works, so many stimuli for things I had completely forgotten that intro video with the splines coming down then all the tekkin footage I can't remember which demo 1 disk we had but that thing with all the little splines was on there.

I remember the logo, loading screen and intro actually freaking me out to the point of actually breaking the disc in half. Still a good memory though, mostly because I now find the UI music bangin'.

I have been thinking about what this game was called for years! I played it about 12 or 13 years ago (I must've been below 5 years old) and for about 6 years now I've been trying to remember what it was called! I asked my parents silly questions like "what was that manta ray game I played when I was a kid? And there was a dinosaur too I think?" and they looked at me like I was crazy but I KNEW IT WASN'T MY IMAGINATION THIS GAME IS REAL AND I HAVE FINALLY BEEN RE-UNITED WITH IT. At least the name, I still need to buy it somewhere...

The 1st introduction to video games... Which is still relevant today

This was a real first time experience for many of us. When none of us had "preferences" to games. You'd play anything if it was available, any type any catergory - it was all so very first time. We experienced this!

I remember getting my first PS1 on Christmas day and being absolutely blown away by the graphics, the music, the atmosphere, and the huge list of awesome demos Then, when Resident Evil and Silent Hill hit, that was it

Brings back so much memories! First game experience i ever had

When games didn't have a day one patch or updates and could still entertain you for days. All on that 700mb CD. Man the nostalgia is really unexplainable.

I still have this more than 20 years later, I sometimes use it even yet and play some music to the Randomly Generated Patterns that it had on V-CD. I particularly like the Dolphin ones, kinda trippy but nice at the same time.

I have nothing but pure love for this.

This first demo-cd of the PS1 was so amazing (this one is an update) It was just great being able to play demo-levels of all kinds of games, a whole new experience... Great times

You know what? My brother had every single one of these demos that came from the official PS magazine. He either lost them or threw some of them away because they got scratchy. I wish I had them now...

Gotta love the 90's.

Oh man... Wipeout, Ridge Racer, Tekken... games on badass black CDs... proper music... the controller... memory cards... everything felt so ground-breaking back then. Do you think kids will feel the same about the current gen consoles? Maybe VR?
