DEMO DAY.... Preparing for LIFTOFF!?!? 🚀

The demo has started on our lake house renovation! But with the lower level being only 6'8" in height we had to come up with a plan first. We ultimately settled on raising the house by about 2ft and extending the foundation height. This meant that we needed to prepare the house to be lifted. We started by completely gutting the lower level while leaving the upper level walls in tact (to help with rigidity when raising). We also needed to excavate the back yard to accommodate the bay window/patio door swap. All that being said, this project is growing quickly and there is no turning back now! Enjoy the show! 😂😬

2-3 weeks of demolition in about 9 minutes! If only, right? Lots of work, lots of $$$, but when you are finished it will be incredible. I will absolutely stay tuned! Blessings!

Luckily the interior demo only took a couple days but we have accomplished a ton in the back yard which I can’t wait to share!!

That was a huge amount of work/progress! I kept thinking about coffee breaks! I've heard about moving a house, never heard of lifting one! Be safe along the way. Exciting project for sure!

Please wear chaps every time you start the chainsaw. A whole lot cheaper than a visit to the ER, chainsaw cuts are nasty. A pair of chaps saved me once, hope you'll consider wearing chaps as important as eye safety.

I really hope you are recycling as much as possible; makes my heart hurt everytime I see people demolishing without regard for responsible re use. Yes, I have re-modeled before and know it can be a pain but it really should be done.
