Question - do you know if it is better or worse to use longer timber lengths? I need to build a 32' straight wall about 6' high and was wondering if I could use 2 - 16' foot timbers (6x6) instead of 8 footers? I know I need to tagger the joints so I will have some cuts but is it stronger to use longer or shorter lengths? Thanks
Might be a silly question but I’m the cut list you have 4 @ 19 1/4 and 8 @ 19 3/4. Yet in the assembly instructions you have 8 @ 19 1/4 doubled up for the legs. It might be a typo or I’m just reading it wrong. Which do I need 8 of?
Question I have. Can the hummer park in WTF mode? i mean't having it part in its lowest height it could be, since my garage has a low beam and could hit the beam if i park it in normal height....
Honestly, these videos are frustrating. Speed through all the good stuff, don’t include much detail and use an example where you don’t run into any issues, obstacles etcetera. I have a cracked floor joist above my furnace in a tight space. I have one in my ceiling between my garage and my master bedroom with not enough room to slide in a 2x10 the length of the existing joist. What do I do? I mean, I know what to do for a full length floor joist. That’s easy.
Thank you for this. Great benches. I'm not going to lie. This was extremely frustrating to follow along with. "Put your mark here, measure from here. " ?? Next instructional video you make ... PLEASE show a top view of the completed components and show specifically where you are measuring to and from, don't flip the wood and edit it out. The only way I was able to understand what was going on was to screen shot, zoom in, re-watch, zoom in, back it up, screen shot, zoom in... the construction took two hours plus a bunch of time reverse engineering the video.
Question: So why does everyone skip putting a gap between the pavers and place them tight? I've done brick pavers and we left 1/4" filled (filled with sand) to allow for expansion. Thanks!
was a great video, until I saw you put the weed barrier under the mulch. you will regret that in a couple of years when the mulch breaks down and you have a layer of compost on top of the weed barrier....which is a GREAT seed bed for weeds. Weed barrier works great under rocks to keep them from getting buried in the ground below, but not recommended under mulch.
Great video and awesome looking shop. Even though this video is a couple years old, I still wanted to mention this to you. Grounding the PVC piping to the blower is something that you should look into (lots of videos on the subject). It involves running small screws at around 24" intervals through the PVC wall that bottom out with about 1/8" sticking out inside the pipe. You then attach a ground wire by wrapping it around the head of the screw that is then terminated on a housing screw on the blower. This will keep static from building up inside the plastic pipe which could cause a really bad fire if you have enough fine dust built up in the pipe. The flex tubing should be made with a spiral metal support wire that can be used to ground it as well. You may already know all this, but I wanted to throw it out there just in case. Happy woodworking and stay safe.
Bro thats a griddle not a hibachi. Hibachi just makes it sounds foreign and mysterious so more expensive than a griddle. But its definitely a griddle. Not Hibachi. you can call it a flat top but not a hibachi. That thing will take a burger but not actual hibachi.
We're getting ready to build cabinets around our television right now. Did you put audio visual components in those cupboards or drawers? We're looking for some build instructions on Incorporating outlets inside the cabinets, how to hide the cords, And how to dissipate the heat.
This is a great idea for the plants that need more water. As luck would have it I am on my way to get some garden stuff. Might try it with my planters.
I have watched all your videos - love your designs and you and your wife have great taste! Can you tell me what size seat cushions that you used for these club chairs? Tx !
