This is what I love this pliot of the series is fact paced cinematography by Howard Schwartz and very well written story by Bellisario.and directed by him, with legendary tv editor Leon Ortiz Gill. And can't forget the score by Sylvester Levay.
The co- pilot is supposed to be looking out for such hazards!! This allows the aircraft commander to concentrate on flying the aircraft. A big blot on his copy book. In Dr Moffett's shoes, I would have been very annoyed at such an oversight. Such a mistake could've resulted a serious damage and/or loss of life. This was proven when an RAF Puma crashed in 1994; amongst other things, they ignored low height warnings, took the tops off trees and nearly flew into an electrical pylon! When the helicopter crashed, 3 people died, the commander, loadmaster and an army recruit. The remaining 9-10 on board survived with injuries. The co-pilot was left partially paralysed and subsequently court martialed for "Flying in a manner likely to cause death or Serious bodily injury". He received an 18 month suspended sentence.
How about a squadron of Airwolf helicopters and blue thunder helicopters as well? The Blue Thunder helicopter was massively overpowered and had a lot of cool upgrades and functions if I remember the movie correctly. It had whisper mode, thermal imaging and enhanced sound and sight, not to mention the minigun in the front, which could track targets just by the pilot looking in any direction
He should be: He Designed Airwolf... He would know it, it's capabilities and limitations like the back of his hand, and would know how to push it to its absolute capacities (beyond textbook tolerances) which String *wouldn't* know how to do... Equally impressive, was Major Mike Rivers, who located Airwolf from satellite photos which showed its jet-wash from every time it left the lair... Either String never thought of that, Or, he thought that the FIRM would never actually put serious effort into locating Airwolf, so never considered it an issue... Either way, Mike thought of it, and used it to locate her...
