There is a Yamaha website, where for years they collected suggestions for what they wanted in the Genos2. Presumably, these were also added to the designers of the instrument. Practically none of these proposals were implemented. What are we talking about then...?
Thanks for viewing! Are there some styles that have been modified somewhat in terms of sound, which do you think sound better on the Genos1? However, there are new Styles in Genos2 that use new voices, FM voices and new Drum Kits with 3D acoustics that you haven't heard before. Genos2 has many extra things that you haven't seen yet. A new update to the operating system is being prepared for Genos2 which will include an FM editor and the memory will be increased more, currently it is still being tested by many users worldwide and data and reviews are being collected from the most skilled users for that Genos2 will become the most desired keyboard in the world in the future! Thank you for your attention!
Hey on your genos 1 did you download stuff like genos upgrades because yours sounds different like when people first boight it but because people upgrade from frew downloads on yamaha site it change the sound abit on genos 1
Only the FM (DX& synthesis) new part in G2 worth to upgrade. For a 80-90s guy like me it is a pure gem. Also don't forget the drum ambient settings on G2 which also make the styles much more versatile. Some base styles of tyros/genos has high velocity drums which limits the style but with the new feature you can easily adopt the drum velocity to your needs. I'll go for the G2 without any hesitation. Watched many tutorials and demos to decide which one to buy and after all I will place an order on the G2 this week. It is just brilliant.
Nice demonstration! I took delivery of my new genos2 a couple of weeks ago and my genos1 has now gone. The sound difference is subtle, but in the same room setting with the same speakers, I can easily tell the difference even though I can’t do a back to back comparison. Listening over RU-vid doesn’t highlight the difference very well, but for any original Genos owner the improvements will be noticeable if played in a familiar setting. The cost of upgrading is significant though, so for anyone considering doing so I would suggest to try and get a comprehensive back to back comparison session at your Music Store.
To compare styles, I would have done a more precise comparison (even if it's much more boring for a video), using this sequence: G1 intro - G2 intro - G1 var1 - G2 var1 - G1 var2 - G2 var2 - G1 var3 - G2 var3 - G1 var4 - G2 var4 - G1 ending - G2 ending, using the exact same sequence of chords and without playing right hand. Unfortunately, I don't have a G2 and can't do this. I think that for now the price to pay to upgrade is really too much for the things they added, also considering that many of these could be implemented in G1 with only a software upgrade (style dynamic control for example, is only a matter of changing style's midi note velocity during play, sliders catch-in is only a minimal software change). Also I'm curious to see if they added a third SWP70 to implement FM-X, since in G1 the two SWP70 DSP chips are used to give the 256 AWM polyphony, For the upgrade, in 6 years at least I was expecting a better tonewheel simulation, organs are exactly the same as on G1 with unreal Leslie, missing Chorus/VIbrato, and lack of leakage and correct key click emulation. Even my small Roland BK-9 has a better tonewheel sound. I would upgrade only if the price difference will become smaller.
You’re welcome to obtain both and create your own video ya’ know. As for all the self-justification, must be bothering you otherwise you wouldn’t go to the trouble of mentioning petty things. Overall it’s a huge improvement in audio clarity and dynamics.
On Genos 1 or 2 style mixer section must be changed and mixed. Style drum kits and bass remains at no more than 60 parameters and styles are not shinning and are held down. Drum kits in Genos 2 are noticeably better after this
Please make a review of Genos vs Montage (Tyros vs Motif). I am interested in the sounds of superarticulation. For example, a saxophone, guitar... Against the Montage.
Personnellement, pour moi tout est similaires, donc je ne vois pas l'intérêt de posséder 2 genos à part que le 2 est rétro-eclairé et surtout le prix 😊
I wanted to make a fair comparison, but Genos2 has a lot of other nice new rhythms that Genos1 doesn't have, I can't make a comparison with something that doesn't exist in Genos1, so I only compared some of the rhythms that have the same name . I will come back in the future with a demo with the new rhythms that only Genos2 has, don't forget that a lot of new rhythms in Genos2 also use FM voices that have a different depth in sound and 3D drum kits, new styles I will present in another video!
It looks very similar, however the sounds have all greatly revised and improved (in the Genos they are in the box, in the Genos 2 they explode outside the box), there are many new styles, the FM module is fantastic, the drums are all new and even more natural with ambient sound that can be adjusted). So you benefit of better sounds, more features while no need to learn everything again. I'm not sure that this review captures all the improvements.
Truth be told, hearing them in isolation it would be hard to tell them apart at times, but I did feel that the G2 had generally better audio clarity and dynamics. Itself perhaps not enough to justify an upgrade to someone, but to new buyers or to more forward thinking G1 owners, the enhancements and extras make it a no brainier - especially if you earn your money playing the thing. Those who justify not upgrading to themselves are likely just home players who noodle around and are salty that they just bought something that’s now been superseded.
I just noodle around with my Genos but I wouldn't upgrade to a Genos 2 because the Genos is an excellent instrument. Instead of spending the money on a Genos 2 better value would be to get a montage and either double rack or have them at right angles.
