Peter thinks the collapse is coming sooner, but timing on the collapse of a world leader like the USA is difficult to predict. Harry was selling the bond ETF story coming out of this era. I guess we will watch it real time.

One of the big problems with the gold market is the paper gold market that is totally controlled and manipulated by the London Gold Market and the CFTC. The paper gold market, the futures paper market, is 90% larger than the physical gold market and the price of gold is manipulated up and down by big players like JPMC who recently paid a $ 1 billion dollar fine for manipulating the gold market. They happily paid the fine because they made $10B in profit from manipulating the price.

Gold, crypto or fiat. Schiff still as a libertarian thinks that we will have a system where we need something to exchange resources that are commodities. I disagree. Libertarians don't understand that their 'muh gold' is also centralized like everything else. It will be about small tribe herds fighting for resources. My guess is they (some esteemed economists) will produce a study saying a good target level of inflation is Not 2% but more like 5%. Fed will jump on it (likely having encouraged it) and use that as a reason to pivot. After all the 2% was from an obscure Australian economist who found inflation should not exceed 2%. Fed turned into a 2% target so it could print. Same thing will happen. History rhymes after all.

One of the aspects of gold's value that is not usually elaborated is what is signified by jewelry. Namely, female psychology is such that many if not most will mate with otherwise less desirable men if they have more gold. Gold has value because chicks dig it as a representation of their completely false image of their own beauty which they (even more than men) tend to wish was eternal and imperishable like gold's.
