Even if Dems lose the House, keeping the Senate is still super important as they'll be able to appoint more federal judges (including Supreme Court Justices). Never forget what Mitch McConnell did to the Supreme Court while he was in control!

The difference between 50 and 51 Senate seats is huge. At 51 seats Manchin could no longer control legislation as he has done for Biden's entire term. Yes, Sinema could join with him but she doesn't always do that. And with 51 votes if Manchin wants to turn GOP that wouldn't change who has the majority.

As a Las Vegas resident, I can tell you this much, the local commercial's against Laxalt, were intense and played constantly, it's hard to see how, Laxalt can carry Clark County in the end, which likely means the city of Las Vegas is the final deciding city that gave the Democrats controlling majority in the Senate,

... I really like watching Steve Kornacki ... But ... I would have hated for him to be in my Math/Calculus class in Engineering Univ ... cause his math skill are insane !!! He would have busted every "Marking Curve" ... I had a friend like that, he got a "A' on the Business Statistic class he took for fun ... the Prof didn't believe it was possible and thought he was cheating ... so my friend re-took the test ... scored 100% again ... The Engineering Profs' had to explain to the "Business" prof ... he had done that in their classes too ...

My wife and I actually find this over- reliance on a monitor screen with county and state maps and percentages and statistics to be highly annoying, overhyped, and designed to add drama to a slow accruing of vote totals. And then there is the constant hand waving motions, almost like hand wringing. This is too much like watching a play by play of a sports event and listening to a bunch of armchair quarterbacks. When Kornaki and others like him come on with their big-screen maps, we hit mute or change the channel. I'd much rather watch someone like Ali Velshi sitting down with a group of likely voters and having an actual discussion about issues.

The gap is not that far in NV’s Senate race. A 821 vote difference with sizable Democratic leaning constituencies still to be counted. Cortez-Masto’s gotten ~68% of the first batch to be counted in Clark county.

Thanks for the sentiment but we are not out of the woods yet. We still have to deal with a Republican Party that has become unmoored from facts, reason, and credibility. An anti-Trumpist faction has not arisen to challenge the strident lunatic fringe that gained control of the GOP years ago. Disturbing fact : Marjorie Taylor Greene is one of the top four fundraisers in the House Republican caucus and she's throwing a hissy-fit in that she feels disrespected by the GOP leadership. So Kevin McCarthy and the other GOP leaders have to try an accommodate her in order for those sweet $$ to keep coming in. Don't know if the GOP will ever awaken from its present mania.....
