Demolishing a mobile home and clearing brush

Using a skid steer to clear some land, yank down some trees and demolish a mobile home! Owner plans to eventually add to his storage facility and wanted this mess to disappear so he can start fresh in spring.
Hope you like the video, it was a tough one to film. No place to charge a phone or go-pro, long hrs, cold, working between power lines and inches from a brand new fence. I was more focused on doing things carefully. But filmed what I could! Like and subscribe for future content.
Tools used: chainsaws, safety straps, chains, Kubota Skid 65 SVL2, large breaker bar, flat bucket, grapple bucket, brush cutter, dumpsters, flatbed trailer, rescue straps

You made allot of extra work for yourself by spreading that debris field so large, grab some and go straight into the dumpster right by the trailer. But you really are a hard worker and I commend you and your work young man. Hard work pays off and you sure make that apparent!

I had a trailer disposed of and the guy did it pretty much the same way. He later told me it best to rip it apart, crunch it into manageable piles. It was easier to load and no wasted space in the dumpster.

Tilt the machine to the side, and clean it with the pressure washer let the water run out the door, keep the mats in, raise it up on the blade and bucket, to clean the undercarrige. You can run the belts While you do this... regards from the rental guy in Denmark

If you had to do another mobile home demo would you still use the skid steer over a mini extractor? Ive seen people use both and was wondering what was your take on this?
@rollingops
@rollingops 4 месяца назад
It depends on the area. I didn't mind the skid at all. But I was also doing some land clearing so it just made sense to do it with just one machine. But if I was in a mobile home park, mini all day. Def what I would use

@@rollingops thanks for the reply. Would a 1 or 2 ton excavator do the job? Just thinking about the tight spaces in mobile home parks.

Im starting up a business in Indiana and would like some advice on how to bid these types of jobs or any jobs really. Do you charge per day to operate your machine? Do you charge hourly? Just would like some mentorship if you’re willing?

I def calculate my expenses to dump, my equipment costs, and what I want to make based on the effort. There isn't an exact scientific way everytime.

It has been a long time since I have seen a mobile home outside of a trailer park. Around here that would be considered a luxury home because it has a yard. Sad to imagine someone lived in that disaster at one time. As for cutting trees look into getting a skid steer pole saw, those are super handy. Then again if money was not an obstacle a wood chipper is a great accessory, not sure if the rental market there would be good for one. Looks like you were able to store your machine on site instead of having to haul it back and forth.

No but I know the guy who does. We actually loaded the next day because the dump closest and cheapest was in the opposite direction of the return home.

Hey Clayton, would like to know how you go about charging on a job like this, because you've got so much going on, several people working on site, a great deal, if not all of your gear tied up for several days on this site and don't need an exact amount but was this like a $5k-$6k deal for you possibly? Thanks, really enjoy the hustle and sharing your battle plan to handle this!

HI man loving your vids. I was just curious about one thing, you start a dumpster business, and it's going well and you have one dump in your town you can bring and dump your dumpsters at. Let's say one day that dump closes or stops taking stuff from smaller guys like you and I, are you screwed? What's your plan B? In my area, I would need to drive another hour just to dump at another place, which worries me, putting all my eggs in one basket sort of thing.
