My gosh this is outstanding!! That sound!! It still has that underlying Demon Hunter rage, but with calm, cool, and collected overtones. DH's classic themes of solace and weathering the storm of open and proud godlessness in today's world shine through so vibrantly in this song. Just wow. I love this so much.

The pain in his voice, you feel his frustration with this world. We Christians know this feeling well and this song absolutely captures the angst.

As a 25 year old dude trying to figure out how to live his life amidst the hate and chaos of the world, I don't think there's a song out there that's more accurate to the state of us. The sound and lyrics perfectly encapsulate the exhaustion and frustration of watching everything around us just wistfully careen into madness.

Nobody does the mixture of heavy and melodic as good as Demon Hunter. No one. Absolute favorite band in the world. Cannot wait to hear Exile in it's entirety 🤘🤘🤘

This is a bit of an odd place to put this, I think, but I've been wanting for some time to say this. You guys are my favorite band, and have been since high school (I've been listening to your music since around 2015). I can't get over your songs. I've listened to pretty much every one I can find, and I don't think I could ever stop listening. Not only is your music good, but I believe it glorifies God, and I think as long as you continue to seek to glorify Him, your music will continue to do so as well. All of your songs have helped me through so much: the low points in my life, my melancholy and depression, fighting temptation, and in seeking God. Tom's voice is so characteristic, it has so much identity that every participation ends up sounding a little bit like Evergrey. And I love it, I love this band!

My interpretation of the lyrics (and roughly from what Ryan said in an interview): "I followed you down the abyss I never thought we could be so misguided There’s nothing so hollow as this There’s nothing so bitter as our divided souls" -We live in a world full of false promises and lies. Fake approval, fake happiness. People put on fake versions of themselves on social media for vanity's sake. We're divided by everything. So close yet so far from each other. The abyss is everything void and insincere. It's all hollow. "Sounding your desperate tone All of your meaningless cries How will I sleep until all this dies? All of this dies" -You're sick of all the chaos, the despair, the tragedy, the empty words and promises, all the pride and vanity, everything that's empty. So you cry out but it feels like nobody's listening, like it won't change anything. How can you feel at peace when the world is screaming all around you? "You rise and you follow the sound You wonder how all of your dreams come falling down" -Sometimes you try to be like everyone else. You try to do what they do in hopes it brings you some satisfaction. But still your soul thirsts for something deeper. You wonder how the world got to such a point that you're hopeless of ever having what your heart really desires. "How do I silence the world? How do I live through the noise? Pull me from out of the tide How do I silence the world? Silence the world" -You wonder when the noise will end, when the world will die. The "world" being all the hollow, empty and vacant things that constantly overwhelm tou. You ask yourself how you can possibly suffer through this. You just want a hand to reach down and pull you out of the tumult of its waves. Wе gave you this voice A freedom you don’t desеrve Resounding with all of the noise Dying to strike a nerve - We as humans were gifted with free will and the ability to think and feel more than just what's immediately around us. Instead we're obsessed with the hollowness. We squander our gifts. But nobody else will see it like you see it, it feels like you're the only one. You're dying to strike that nerve that jolts them awake. But an exile you remain. Tomorrow is wantless And now we’re all heartless -Seemingly nobody wants anything deeper. They only want what satisfies base desires. Everything beneath the sun is toil and travail.

I read the article about what this song means. Thank you for making a song of what we all are thinking and need to hear. I love that I can relate with you guys so much and that your music has and can help me through so many stages of life since 2009. It’s truly a blessing and so thankful God put you in my life.

This song needs to be on all radio rotation! This is way better than many of the rock tracks being aired.

This song is sad and so true about today's world, it's noisy and loud that you need to silence the world to be free from the corruption of technology and social media, I feel like this sometimes whenever I'm in public that I want to be silent and enjoy life, so this song is closest to my heart, I can feel the anger whenever he screams "Silence the World!!"

This band has been a huge inspiration for me one of my driving instructors when I got my cdl turned me onto demon hunter cause I'm a huge metal head and he's also a Christian and I needed some more wholesome lyrical content in my life and I was impressed a Christian metal band that has a great message and still sounds amazing great vocals and heavy I love this band it's in my daily trucking Playlist I wish I could write music like demon hunter does gonna have to bring one of my guitars and Jam again thank you demon hunter for keeping me encouraged on the road I'm not a perfect Christian by any stretch I fall short a lot but this music reminds me I'm not the only one who gets lost in this world we live in God bless

Freedom is Dead had me more hyped but this is still a solid song. What I love most is that these new songs sound fresh. The last few albums all had a similar vibe and sound to them, but this stuff sounds “new” so to speak.

Demon Hunter is truly one of the greatest metal bands of all time. I am constantly in awe of their ability to refine their music and remain relevant and modern, while retaining a distinctly "them" sound, in every album they make. Like, this stuff sounds NOTHING like, say, Triptych, or The World is a Thorn, but it still sounds like Demon Hunter, and it sounds super modern and awesome. Most bands that have this many albums over this many years had a peak and 1.) continue to try and remain relevant but can't, OR 2.) do what they always did and sound more and more outdated. Demon Hunter weaves through the metal trends with a deft hand. And every album is an evolutionary step over the previous. It's never a drastic change, but rather a noticeable refinement in tone and musicality.

Still waiting for this album’s version of Praise the Void to see how it compares to the previous version

Evergrey is a legendary band, and one of my biggest influences as a guitarist. This collaboration was incredible. Tom is an amazing singer, and totally didn't see this coming. I dig Demon Hunter too, in fact, I saw them live opening for Living Sacrifice in the early 2000s in California. Incredible track! Loved it!

Wow, in one word "Transcendent" the lyrics, the instrumentation really makes it feel like your marching through a blizzard of despair, barely holding together, exhausted, but restless, what a trip! Yeah, the world is more fucked than I've ever seen it, people are more polarized and cold than I could imagine, literally everything is falling apart. Stay strong, stay kind, stay genuine, keep walking the narrow path.

Throughout the history of music usually when a band tries something new and it sucks, they stick with it. Demon hunter is not one of these bands. They have never had a bad album and that should say volumes about them and the passion and effort they put into their music.

Oh my gosh, I'm so mad I'm just now finding out you guys had this album out, let alone not realizing that Tom was in this song until he started singing because I had it playing in a playlist and didn't see the title 😭 Good gosh RYAN, your voice has gotten to such an insane level over the years! The last I saw you guys in concert was in 2011 and it's a long overdue reunion.

I'm incredibly impressed by this song. The song is beautiful, the guest vocals sound awesome, and the style of the instrumental parts sounds different from anything I remember on any other track. A perfect mix of mellow and heavy. This is up there with my favorite Demon Hunter songs.
