Great song from Demon Hunter! I personally like Ryan's harsh vocals in this song cuz I always like harsh vocals that I can understand clearly and Ryan usually does that. I love the change up into the bridge and it has a solid guitar solo. I also really like the message of the song so that's probably why I would give it a higher score too. This was one of your reactions that I was really looking forward to and I did really enjoy it.
I've listened to it a few times and I feel it's a decent song by Demon Hunter. Not a terrible song but not a great song, and songs like Fading Away, Dead Flowers (also from True Defiance) and Artificial Light I feel are better. Musically it's fine but the grit/growl in the pre-chorus brings it down for me. Admittedly it does make it more memorable than it otherwise would be and you do get used to it after a few listens but it'd be nice to hear an alternate version without it just to see how it sounded & if it would be better than the OG version.
Hello from New England..I hear a lot of Gojira in this..And that's a compliment lol..The ride work this drummer is doing in the verses is so reminiscent of Mario Duplantier..The vocals were good enough but his cleans reminds me of Matt Heafy from Trivium..That double bass is just moving..Nice slow down to the half time feel..But the growls and grit is acceptable lol..Overall not bad at all 🤘✌️🧐
Hey! Glad you enjoyed the song! It’s a favorite of mine. Totally get the screams and growls weren’t your cup of tea. Definitely dug the melodies too. I’m a big fan the drumming style in this song. 8.3 is definitely a respectable score
Can someone Submit “This I Know” by demon Hunter into his queue list? I think he’ll get a kick out of the fact that it was partially written for a video game
This is my power-lifting song. Artificial Light is my least favorite song from my all-time favorite band, and I wonder if that is because I was in their Blessed Resistance club at the time and first heard that song by dialing a number on a flip-phone and cannot unhear the sonic trauma that caused me.
