Honestly, for a while now I've recognized your [rather quick] shift from "oblivious, sweet girlfriend" to an engaged girlfriend who just "gets it" without having to ask too many questions. I think a lot of guys flocked to your channel for the former personality, not because it's better, but because it's more relatable. 99% of the women we date don't see any value in video games. They think they are a waste of time and/or just indulge us because they care about us. To a lot of men, that trope is more realistic and common. However, your content quickly shifted towards true understanding of the hobby. Your high level of intelligence and respect for works of art allowed you to embrace it in a way every gamer wants to see his girl embrace games. I can see how people miss the trope because it's funny, but your content now is truly what gamers want, deep down, from their girlfriends. Either way, your work means a lot to people. Keep doing you!

Elden Ring is my first Souls game (ignore how quick I bounced off Sekiro in 2019), so it’s only right I revisit the FromSoft GR vids while pooping. It made me a lil sad being reminded that GR’s success came with so many unappreciative, mean for 0 reason type beat comments (and that death threat internet terrorism BS. Glad y’all are so resilient!). I love this channel, love seeing a couple thrive as creative partners, and I feel that great writing and great editing (the funny, the gaming insights that add much appreciated context that would never occur to us newer gamers, the perfect relevant pop media moments inserted throughout) is a gift each and every time. May we all never forget the large active viewership GR has is full of love and support for u2!

The fact that people are claiming that this channel has "changed" or "gotten serious" as a reason to unsubscribe or stop watching is ridiculous. Look, no one can tell what you what to like or watch. Unsubscribe if you need to. But what you don't get to do is hide behind an excuse that is objectively and patently untrue. This has always been a game review channel. Whether it was from the perspective of a "backseat gamer" or not, GFR has always broken down and analyzed the same critical aspects of games that any reviewer - whether amateur or professional - would examine. In their first video about RDR2, Shelby talks about the scenery, cinematography, voice acting, and overall plot of the game - all aspects that any game review channel would analyze. The top comment on that video is, "Wow, this is a really funny and smart way to disguise a game review," and it was liked by GFR. Their style has been consistent since their first video so the claim that they've "changed" just simply isn't valid. Again, no one can tell you what to like. Leave the channel if you want. But do yourself a favor and be honest with yourself. You left because you disagreed with them (probably on the TLOU2 review) and it upset you that they didn't see things the way you did. No one can take that away from you and that's fine. But you don't get to make objectively false statements on your way out the door.
