Fun fact: the moon guy (forgot his name) is muzan's favorite. He was the only one that got actual permission from muzan to allow him to share their blood. Muzan favors him not because of his strength but because (spoiler) At least its hinted at Muzan favors him because they share similar backgrounds in both being sickly since young. That episode when muzan got introduced he killed them not because they annoyed him but because they told him he looked sickly.

I know this doesn't mean anything, but remember how Giyu beat himself up for being too late to get there in episode 1? He's been *just in time* ever since then.

I do feel bad for the demons cause they are basically possessed humans. If you turn into a demon, you will lose yourself and become an evil person. Nezuko is considered an anomaly. You get turned into a demon, you are basically forced to become evil. I feel like Tanjiro senses that too

I liked this episode for me it was more a build up of Rui because it made me forget that he was a child, then in the next episode it really hit home like hey he is still a child with unresolved trauma. Idk for me I think its the fact that he was a child who was lonely and looking for a way to get rid of that pain that made me sympathize with him because while he was smart and capable you see the steps in his logic that's more childlike it doesn't justify it but I still felt sympathy for him but that's just how i took this and the next episode great reactions as always guys 😁

Dead calm was so calm it made me quiet

Don't wanna be rude, but be selective when it comes to dragging Pat into watching any anime. The dude look like he's being forced to watch something he's not into. And it's okay, really; not everyone can suddenly start liking anime out of the blue. And for us viewers, watching his stale reaction ruins the mood as well. He might like Death Note though, as he liked the first 2 episodes.

In this episode made you realize how strong the demon moons are. In the demon slayer corp hashira(9 Pillar) are the best to counter them especially in the lower moon however in the upper moon its another story. This is how I best describe the power of Demon Moons, 1 is the strongest in their rank 6 is the weakest: Lower Moon - 6,5,4,3,2,1 (S) Strong Upper Moon - 6,5,4,3,2,1 (SS) Super Strong

Not a spoiler just want to clarify this the ranking system works as such. Lower ranking moons 6 to 1, weakest to strongest, Upper ranking moons 6 to 1, weakest to strongest. There's basically a top tier and a low tier of the demon moons. To add further clarification Giyu and Shinobu are hashira, or pillars in the manga, which are straight up the best of the best in the demon slayer corps so Rui being a low tier moon he stands next to no chance of winning. Vice versa when the pillars, or hashira whichever you prefer to call them, fight the top tier moons they have next to no chance by themselves often needing teamwork in order to win. So ya that explains why Rui got wrecked so easily and sets up what will be in the future it's a demon moon fest from this point on so you needed this clarification to better understand the power scaling

That whole 🌙🦗 joke was kinda accurate to the demons in this episode? They were out while the moon was out, and black (like evil or dark) but also white like literally So ya know, not too terrible right? No? Yeaaah

I think a lot of people don't get that Demon Slayer isn't trying to say that sad backstories make everything bad they did less bad. What they shine light on is that even if they did bad things, they were once human who also deserve justice, just like their victims. That they can't do anything about their nature - in the second season, without spoiling anything, we get to see through Nezuko that this instinct is instilled in every demon, even one that slipped through Muzan's grasp and doesn't even seem to have his curse. Once they are turned, their insticts take over and they feel bad about what they are doing, but since they can't change it and can't do anything about their urges as well, they start falling apart more and more, losing their memories and humanity with it, until only certain feeling stay behind. Case in Point: The human who's most fond memory was of his brother who held his hand when he was scared, forgot about who his brother even was, but when he morphed, he grew into a mountain of hands. The girl who wanted to play became a demon throwing balls around. The boy who wanted to feel a family, got special permission and ability to turn others into his kin by having them shed their skin (like spiders do). You will always find these little details in them, some more and some less obvious. It's what's left of who they once were. Tanjirou feels sorry for these pitiful souls, at the same time, he condemnes the demons they became and kills them. If they simply wanted to make them have sob stories, they would not kill them. And not every demon is like that, either. Some are simply sadistic or selfish, like all of the demons here, except for the mother and Rui.

As in they lose all humanity once they turn into demons. It's like another personality enters their body. So technically it isn't their fault they killed so many people.

17:24 You can be sympathetic even empathetic to the demons, this is the purpose of showing every significant demons' backstory. The show isn't really pushing you to sympathize with all the demons' actions because the demons are obviously bad and they kill humans but you can empathize and understand how they got to this point. The majority of demons are those who have been turned against their will, all you really need to do is look at Nezuko to understand that most people probably had no choice in the matter and even she tried to kill Tanjiro in the beginning. You see Muzan slice some rando's neck and he instantly turns on his wife and tries to eat her and will have no memories ever again, his life was fucked in an instant. The first significant demon Tanjiro fights during the final selection is a child and I am certain they had no choice into being made a demon. You are seeing things through the demons' perspective and understand their feelings caused by this process of being turned into a demon. Obviously you can't relate to a demon that kills humans but you can relate to someone being forced to do evil against their will or trying to regain love, family, or their memories of precious things. The statement at 17:56 cannot be compared to Rui's situation, once you become a demon then humans are your only source of food and you don't really have a choice once you turn. Also these "no sympathy" comments for Rui are not going to age well. Put some respect on my boy

Rui went insane after forgetting his family and as a demon humans arent gonna help you so you go off into isolation. This wasnt their choice and theyre litterally driven by an overpowering bloodlust.

wait if Shinobu uses wisteria poison then she literally can't kill an upper 6 of the 12 kibutsuchi or however it is spelt because even the 6th strongest resisted wisteria poisons several times and clearly different versions as he had to adapt with antigens in his body more than once
