That scene of Tanjirou breaking down reminds us that despite his usual stoic persona, he's still a kid; a teen. It's a great show of vulnrability and also strenghtens the emotions of what makes us human. When used on a character like Tanjirou, it really hits the spot.

I watched this in the cinema with my wife and kids. It was absolutely amazing. My daughter was in tears when Rengoku died! :'(

Good lord, no matter how many times I see this scene, it still hits me in the feels like nothing else ever can. And Inosuke crying still just drives the feeling even deeper like a 20lb sledgehammer... It's no wonder why even other authors of manga were singing praises to Koyoharu Gotouge on how amazing this series is. I can't wait to see the continuation of this story, it's just been amazing.

The best part about that last fight is that Akaza wasn't even trying to kill Rengoku he was just toying with him to convince him to become a demon he never stood a chance, Inosuke's speech at the end broke me.

Only Rengoku was strong enough to see reality when everybody else was tricked to have their sweet dream by Enmu.

I cried, a lot. 🥺😢😭😭😭 Demon Slayer's one of those very rare anime's i can watch in English and get the same effect as subtitled. Voice actors actually on point conveying the correct emotions. That's very rare which is why everyone always says subtitle is better. The odds of a good dub are very low.

I don't know if you guys knew but if not, the fact that Rengoku is acknowledging that his food was delicious is actually a thing soldiers do when eating; "Enjoy your food because you won't know that it'll be your last". Basically it was foreshadowing to Rengoku's death.

Fun fact. Rengoku was *20 years old* when he died! Still had so much potential 😕

5:45 I'm pretty sure that's practically impossible to do. I've noticed for a while that every breathing style requires a different "pattern" of breathing. How did I notice this, you ask? Our main three Demon Slayers, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke. Look at how they use Zen Shūchū no Kokyū, or Total Concentration Breathing. In the 4th episode, when Tanjiro performs the Mizu no kokyo, Ichi no kata: Minamogiri, or Mizu no Kokyu, First Form: Water Surface Slash, we see him use Zen Shūchū no Kokyū, or Total Concentration Breathing by inhaling through his mouth in a position where both his upper teeth and lower teeth are slightly seperated by a gap, through which the air goes by. It's the same way you inhale after finishing your mint chewing gum and then taking a glass of cold water, and then breathing in a way where your teeth feels the "freshness". The next example is Zenitsu. In the 12th episode, when Zenitsu uses Kaminari no Kokyu, Ichi no Kata: Hekireki Issen, or Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash, we see him EXHALE, with the same "mouth position" as Tanjiro did with his Water Breathing moves. We also see Inosuke use his Breathing Style. When Inosuke showed off one of his moves, Kedamono no kokyu, San no kiba: Kuizaki, or Beast Breathing, 3rd Fang: Devour, or Fang 3 Devour as it said in Episode 12, the episode where Inosuke was first introduced, we see him exhale strongly from his NOSE, like an animal. This just shows that every breathing style is very different from one another, as each of them focus on a difference sense of their body. Water Breathing focuses on the sense of smell and the ability to move smoothly and fluid like water without breaking speed, Beast Breathing focuses on the sense of touch and the aggressiveness of each attack, just like a starving angry beast, and Thunder Breathing focuses on the sense of hearing, and the footing of the legs to strengthen them to instantly have a jolt of energy to shoot towards any direction with godly inhumane speed just like thunder. It's just like a normal martial art in this world. Most, if not all martial artist prefer sticking to one style of fighting because our brain isn't processed to easily and fluidly switch between two or more styles of a thing, like for example Kung Fu and Karate. I'll use Kung Fu as an example, given that there is multiple styles of Kung Fu, just like the Breathing Styles. It would be practically impossible to switch between something like the Tiger style and the Snake style simultaneously mid-battle without stopping and thinking, because the human body will be used to the one you recently used, like for example the Snake style. And also the fact that each breathing style in Kimetsu no Yaiba, or Demon Slayer, are all completely different from one another, despite sometimes being derived from the same breathing style, like the Serpent Breathing and Flower Breathing both being derived from Water Breathing, or even simpler, Stone Breathing, Water Breathing, Flame Breathing, Wind Breathing, and Thunder Breathing all being derived from the legendary Sun Breathing. With Zen Shūchū Jōchū, or Total Concentration Breathing: Constant, it's literally impossible, because they have to change the way they breathe for 24 hours a day. It's like going back to stage 1. They have to change the pattern of how they breathe during their sleep, during battle, during everything. They have to relearn how to breathe, and that will be SUPER easy, approximately 2 months or more. /s So yeah, in short, I wasted your time. So now, allow me to shorten my three informative paragraphs about this matter: It's not possible. The human brain isn't that smart to fight change the way you move and your cycle of breathing fluidly mid-battle. I hope this information helped you! :D

Tanjiro is always the oldest acting person on his squads, and if someone ever takes that place, is there to protect him as an older brother or sister, they always die. Tanjiro always has to act tough and the moment he knows that he doesn't have to anymore because an older sibling is there, he is more open to acting like a kid, and once that person is gone, Tanjiro only feels sadness and anger for a while before someone else pulls him out of it.

Fun fact: rengoku was screaming delicious while eating because in Japan samurai are taught to enjoy their every meal everytime because it might be their last, unfortunately for rengoku it was his last meal

This movie telling the story of the Arc Demon Train was amazing. Be sure, we gonna have 5 or 6 more season before the end. The Manga is over but there are so much to tell , that's gonna be awesome to see in Anime.

Your reaction to the Movie was great!! I love it! I just have so many things to tell you two and of course I will not spoil anything in the manga. First, If you have some free time, I hope you will take some minutes to listen to the final song of the Movie which name is "Homura". It means "Flame" and sung by LiSA. If you listen and read the lyrics, you will see that this song is telling about Rengoku and how Tanjiro's feeling about him. About the dream. Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke, they are all dreaming about what they really want in real life but Rengoku doesn't. His dream is just all about what happened in his life. It show one thing that Rengoku is satisfied with everything he has, like he has no regrets about anything at all. Also, about the upper rank demon, they are very strong. The lower rank no match to any Hashira since even the weakest Hashira is able to cut a lower demon's head. But for the Upper rank, The Hashira cannot fight them in a one-on-one battle. Finally, the emotion that the movie brings to is really touchable. Every character is great, especially Rengoku. Although we just known him less than 2 hours but the way he inspired with his confidence and positive personality is so awesome. He really have SET OUR HEART ABLAZED!!! Thanks for trying subtitles finally. I guess Akaza is a fair guy surprisingly. Some Tanjiro's comments at the last scene even don't make sense, which helps tell us that he is very emotional facing Rengoku's death.

With regards to burning of trees: I think a lot of viewers/fans of demon slayer have this misconception that the effects of breathing techniques with regards to the slashing of swords were visible to the demons/other people. The effects were just the authors way of showing artistically that these swordsmen follows different way of teachings. When they unleased these techniques, the demons/people sees them just normal sword swings w/o water/fire imbued to it. Great reaction!!!, im newbie here in your channel. A small detail I think is cool that I only just noticed was rengoku had his sword on the right side of his waist bc it makes sense for him to sit then puts it back on his left side before he fights bc that's its usual position

Akaza said he hated weak humans so he went straight to Tanjiro to kill him and ignored Rengoku because he knows he was strong, he even respected how strong he was and wanted him to convert to a demon because he didnt want to kill and waste his potential

Actually, if you remember. When we were introduced to Inosuke, when they got out of the house, Inosuke was trying to kill Nezuko who was in the box the whole time. However, Zenitsu had protected it. In the scene Inosuke says, “…There’s a demon in there…” or something along those lines.

Fun fact : Rengoku has a weak sense of hearing because before he was a hashira he fought lower moon demon using the power of sound and it damaged his eardrums.. That's why he was seen speaking in a slightly loud voice.. Uppermoon demon is very very strong To defeat him you need at least two or three hashira, which is why the Upper moon demon is never replaced and invincible & upper moon has kill many hashira Rengoku indeed lost the fight, but he won the war, because his goal was to not let even one person die on his mission RIP Rengoku Kyojuro The Flame Hashira

Just a reminder that the water, flames, lightning, etc isn’t actually physically there. They can’t conjure and manipulate elements, like in avatar the last airbender. It’s just a visual depiction of their swordplay/breath style

Whats the sad part is that akaza was not even trying this fight. He was laughing the entire time and having a blast. Really sad fact i learned

I don't know if anyone explained this already, but in Japan, the soldiers have a tradition of celebrating and enjoying as much as possible every meal, because they never know if that meal is going to be the last one they are going to taste/have. It is an awesome way of thinking about things, specially if you apply to anything in life. We never know what tomorrow will be, so we definetely should make the best out of any situation/thing we have or go through.

I'm glad you watched it as a movie! I'm sure the TV animation version will be good too, but the experience of watching this in one go is so different, I guess.

that skill from Akaza when he is about to start to fight, its called Destructive death - compass needle, it's a light blue snowflake - shaped compass underneath him with numbers 1 to 12, that can detect and track its opponent's locations and incoming attacks via sensing their opponent's fighting spirit. At least thats how I remember it reading it from the manga. He usually starts with that skill at the beginning of the fight.
