I don't get why people always hate me from me saying that I think the dub is better. They are just opinions... I don't have any problem with people that prefer the sub, and I find it completely normal for people to have opinions. What's wrong is forcing someone to like something that they don't.
the thing about sub vs dub is that it really depends on who you listen to first. no matter what, the other will sound off. not only that, but depending on the voice, the character might actually *feel* different too. my friend says that when you compare subs vs dubs, it's like listening to two different characters. i think the dub VAs did a good job, especially since they probably felt as though they had to almost completely emulate the JP dub while still giving their own voice as well. that being said, the only one who falls short for me is Tanjiro's dub voice. it just sounds a little off to me. also RIP Billy Kametz, who voiced Rui. he died too early :(
I watched the sub first and I kinda liked the dub better. Especially the movie, rengoku’s dub VA did an awesome job. I thought tanjiro’s VA did an amazing job too. Similar to goku, I think his deeper voice in the dub makes it more badass
I disagree. It's not the one you listen to first (although that does play a part). But the one you subconsciously consider the better one will be what you like more. I watched 10+ episodes of black Clover in dub before trying out the sub and instantly switched to the sub.
Im not gonna lie i like both. They both are great. There is some scenes that i like more then the other. Such as when tengen introduces himself in dub. Bro sounds like a gameshow host. He sounds wack. But in my opinion i do like giyuu's voice in Dub more as it gives him the more edgy kinda teen voice.
@@noelmaldonado5922 saying Tengen sub is better is fuckin wild, not only is Ray Chase just the GOAT, the screaming match in the final fight is leagues above not even the sub but most screams in anime. It wasn’t a battle cry, it was the scream of a man on the verge of death.
I actually enjoy both. I just got into the series. I prefer the dub right now since I'm watching for the first time. I'll do a rewatch with the sub version. The dub allows me to pay more attention to the picture instead of more focused on the subtitles. And I'm not typically a big fan of dubbed content in any form really, but I think it's well executed here.
The one reason I usually like sub is because the phrases and saying just sound so much more natural in Japanese where as in dub it sounds kinda forced or weird in it but this is one of those rare times I can say I really believe both dub and sub actors put some genuine hard work in and I’m glad to here them sounded so well done.👏🏽👏🏽
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 its not really a matter of understanding them for me tbh. its a matter of sound. I've seen japanese dubs of french anime that sounded bad. I have also seen english dubs that are superior to the original language of origin. the way Japanese can put emotion into its words is different than how english can do it. Tanjiro shouting at Akaza is much more emotional and painful sounding than the english version, he sounded like someone on the verge of breaking down, meanwhile the english version just sounded angry.
Listen DUB vs SUB there's nothing like that its true that japan is the mother if anime so it deserves to be Japanese dubbed and also english dubbing actors effort also need to be acknowledged from every one who watches the show plus both dub and sub did the pretty great job i love both of them
THANK YOU!! The debate on Sub and Dub is honestly ridiculous. I watch anime in dub, and yes Sub is better, but that doesnt mean dub is trash. There are a lot of animes that have good dubs. I also feel bad for the Eng VA's that get hate, voice acting isn't easy.

I basically always watch sub because I know for a fact it will always be good. With dubs that is not always the case and I see many comments saying "Tanjiro fell short the rest was good" or something similar. I hate when some or most voices are fine/good and some stick out. In japan they literally have voice acting schools and even have talented VA's for side characters. I just like the consistency. I definitely can understand people that prefer the convenience of dubs though. Not having to read is nice and some people can't read fast enough or have disablities so it is good dubs exist.
Gyutaro _really_ blew me away in dub. He’s the lead in Fire Emblem Engage and was pretty mediocre there, so with that being one of my only experiences hearing him, he really surprised me here. He sounds so gross.
I think they both sound cool. Although I'm curious. What do Japanese people prefer? Like most of us like Japanese because it sounds cool, but I wonder if English sounds cool to them?🤔😂
Lmao it’s only a few animes that BOTH languages work and match perfectly for the characters. Bleach and one piece kind of are like that. Dragon ball I struggle to listen to that in subbed lmao. This was amazing

0:46 i like how the dub delivered it with a scoffing delivery by Akaza. He was not reasoning or explaining why he was running away. He simply cant fathom and mockingly says how little Tanjiro is I feel that way more as Tanjiro thinks hes hot shit for a moment lashing out at an escaping Moon demon
Demon slayer is one of the only anime’s I exclusively listen to on sub. It just feels more natural in the deliveries, especially since it’s in the native language. I must say that some of the dubs are impressive but the sub is so much more expressive like when tanjiro broke his finger, in the sub you can really feel he’s hurt but in the dun I just don’t get that. Gyutaros dub Va did way better than I expected with such a performance to pick up from! Favorite from dub and sub for voices.
Despite what everyone says, I like Dubbed Tanjiro better. It perfectly fits his personality (which is supposed to be a kind and a nice person), while the original version sounds more like a person who's annoyed at everything. But ultimately, well done to both VAs of all the characters.
I prefer season 2 Dubuque prefer season 2 dub simply because of the gyutaro and tengen fight when tengen came back to the fight after losing his hand and being poisoned, that was one of the absolute best dub fights I can think of
@@saiyandemon8236 that was cool but a little excessive to where it almost felt like background music, I like the whole scene when tengen came back until the screaming between the 2 started in dub, especially the delivery of his musical score technique, it's a great addition that also isnt in dub which funny enough is widely viewed as negative , even tho I find it fitting since he never mentioned the technique before ..
@@Errenyaegerrr People don’t understand that subtitles aren’t supposed to be used in dub since a lot of the time the sentences are too long to be used in an actual dub without it sounded off or weird, It was amazing how ray chase was able to improvise in a way that got the same message across but in a way that works in the English language given the time he had to say it
I am one of the ppl who watched demon slayers season one over 20x Read the manga 3x The movie watched it 3x Season 2 watched it 2x Ya i watched it too much But its too good I rewatched the dub season 1 twice and i also watched the german dub of the anime Tbh This anime is one of the only anime which i think have the best dubs
Noone cares how much you watched it, demon slayers dub is decent, that's it. Its far from the best dubs. The fact that you watched demon slayer 20x says more than enough about your taste
I like how each language give them a little something different in their personality for each, I like the Japanese, English and french versions they all give something different i can't compare them ! Also i said french too cuz im french and i watched the anime in french while here i discovered the Japanese and English version
I don't know what it is, but, I just can never watch dubs. I feel like English doesn't suit Japanese expression and mannerisms well. The only dub I've ever really liked is One Punch Man. English suits the very dry and deadpan humor quite well. I still enjoy the sub more, though. Doesn't matter at the end of the day anyway. Watch what you like, everyone else can kick rocks.

For instance nezuko using blood demon art for first time - i didn’t like dub - she shouldn’t have been able to speak clearly… tomioka one is the only i felt suits him
0:01 - Sub 🇯🇵 Tanjiro is audibly very angry. But Tanjiro's dub actor has done better angry yelling. Also Akaza's dub voice sounds very forced and honestly doesn't match Akaza's energy. 1:05 - Dub 🇬🇧 For a comedic scene, the dub is hilarious. Tanjiro sounds so annoyed and confused, and Inosuke sounds like that one kid in your kindergarten who wants to beat up everything. Perfect for Inosuke. I also love how "Gonpachiro Kamaboko" is delivered so casually, where as in the Sub it's singled out. I just think the dub was funnier here. 1:49 - Dub? 🇬🇧 Murata is good in both. It's just that in the Sub, Shinobu sounds so robotic in this scene. I do like her voice better overall though. But for this clip I choose the dub. 2:18 - Sub 🇯🇵 Sub is overall good for all the voice actors. Tengen especially. God tier voice acting for him here. Dub imo has only good voice actors for Rengoku, Giyuu, Obanai, Muichiro and Gyomei but he only has a few lines. I guess also Sanemi for this episode, but it definitely got worse in later episodes. Also, I think Giyuu and Obanai have better voice actors in the dub than the sub tbh. Giyuu sounds more emo and Obanai sounds more unique and mysterious. 4:05 - Sub? 🇯🇵 I like nezuko's voice in the Sub better. That's honestly the only deciding factor for me. Rui sounds great, he sounds like he's cornered in both versions. 4:47 - Dub 🇬🇧 Sub is obviously really good, but I like the more emo voice of Giyuu. I get the goal was for it to be monotone, but I think the sub takes it a bit too far. The dub I think makes him sound more human. 5:23 - Gyutaro: Sub 🇯🇵 Honestly the dub is pretty great. I love the voice cracks that make him sound completely unhinged. It's just that the sub voice sounds scarier. Especially with the "come on! Come on!! COME ON!!!" part. 7:15 - Doma: Sub 🇯🇵 Idrk what to say about this. It's...fine? In both. But I like the sub because something about it feels more gentle and menacing at the same time. 6:24 - Zenitsu and Spider Brother: Dub 🇬🇧 Zenitsu voice actors for both languages honestly sound identical. The dub selected a great voice actor. But I like the more zany voice for the spider demon. It's really entertaining and he sounds like cartoony villain, which I think is perfect since he's killed instantly anyway. Would like to see that voice around in other shows tho.
A legend also one said if I want to listen to dog shit, voice acting of squeaky kids who almost all sound the same over some actual Japanese voice actors who perfect their craft so well. Just listening to the difference is night and day to me. Some of the dubs honestly make me cringe so bad. Plus in my mind I envision these characters being Japanese and living in those lands, which they obviously do so the Japanese voice just fits better.
I had watched the show in Sub, then I played the game in sub and dub, then I rewatch some clips in the anime in dub and yeah they both sound pretty good
If a anime is not dub so we can watch it but if it is available in dub version so dub version would be better choice to watch because in dub version we can concentrate in anime besides sub we have to read Subtitles every times

Yeah if you don’t understand Japanese definitely English only for the ability to comprehend by the smallest of margins, but dub is far better even with the language barrier
Sorry, but for me, I just hear more emotion in the screams and yells in the dub. I'll give props to the sub, some moments are better than the dub, but I still prefer the dub.

I’m actually very ok with both sub and dub in this case because for the most part I think the voices fit the characters very well but when it comes to tanjiro I don’t think the dub replicates his “noble fighting spirit” vibe he has going on. I think it does a great job when he’s being casual or goofy but when he gets mad or serious in a fight it doesn’t sound as well off
