(For myself) 09:23 for Movement II 17:30 for Movement III This is an absolutely incredible performance of a fantastic work. Bravo to the composer and performer
He deserves way more attention. He is very much on par with Steven Mead, Bastien Baumet, David Childs and Anthony Calliet!!! This kind of virtuosic playing shouldn't be kept from the world!!!
Demondrae Thurman will be performing this with my college, the IPFW Wind Ensemble, in two weeks in Fort Wayne, IN. February 25th, at 7:00pm at the Rhinehart music building,
I remember it was early this year, I was looking up euphonium solos to play for my juries/auditions after I transfer (I am a 3rd year junior college student) when I came across this masterpiece. It is SO compelling and very challenging, but most importantly it is beautiful. This piece really shows off the Euphonium and it's capabilities, something that does not happen very often. I was talking to my private lesson teacher about it and he also enjoyed it. ;) Demondre, I do not know if you will ever see this comment but if you do, keep on doing what you are doing. You are one of my biggest inspirations musically, and your talent is superb. Perhaps with enough practice and dedication I will be able to play this piece for my senior recital!!!!
I am so happy to see this. I fell in love with the piece listening to your other video with the music, and I had always wanted to watch him play it. Such a brilliant sound.
Euphonium solo with band accompany - NOT band solo with euphonium accompany - band needs to play quieter so that the intricacies that the soloist is playing can be heard in all detail
The band sounds like crap for an adult band they need to get their shit together im in a high school band and we sound better than this band is too quiet i have seen the music for the band on this song their are so many parts that needed to be played but they were not and this band had too many errors the Euphonium soloist is fine its just the band.
I think you saying that is quite ignorant. The band is not the main focus in the piece. It’s not to be loader that the soloist. Also when the soloist is out you hear the band ramping up the dynamics.
