Why is there a tale of "easy solutions with terrible consequences"? That makes absolutely no sense. Work smarter, not harder. What you mean to say is "the tale of selling your soul in exchange for power and wealth".
@@soulsreaper7145 the freed demons created havok Everywhere. The only ones who really benefited were the people of that small country and even there people were eaten in part.

I love how Hyakkimaru's and his father's willpower is contrasted in the ending. Hyakkimaru's father had his people's interests in mind by wanting to save them from the drought, and failed for the sole reason that he had lost all hope and willpower and jumped to the easy solution which was his deal with the demons. Hyakkimaru on the contrary fought to get his body parts back till the end. Even as a little boy who knew that not having his body parts would have been disadvantageous, he still fought and in the end succeeded. Had his father not lost his will and hope, Hyakkimaru would have saved the land as the new lord.
@@HassanAhmed-rf9xr He sought help from demons and they suggested sacrificing Hyakkimaru to save the land. From the story, it is revealed it was the demons who were causing the shortages so of course they can stop it. We learn that they renege on this promise as they continue feeding on people. In the end, Hyakkimaru slays all the demons demonstrating his martial prowess and restores the land to a land without demons. By not sacrificing his son, he would be a father to the most talented swordsman in the land that could defend it from demons and humans alike.
@@HassanAhmed-rf9xr He realized that his willpower and the strength to carry on is why the demons chose him in the first place. Mental strength that's feared by the demons themselves, is enough to do anything, even save a land that's suffering from every possible misfortune.
@@90c4bb5 we all should learn that when you made a contract with the devil a great price is paid with your soul in exchange for all eternity in the underworld
Something that I don’t think was mentioned in the beginning is that Hyakkimaru was sacrificed not only for the father’s power, but the land’s prosperity, as it was struggling with drought & lack of crops for a while. So though yes, his sacrifice ultimately gave his father’s family power, it was also meant as means for the region’s survival
@@randomnobody6434 yeah, in the middle-end though, not in the beginning. The beginning just states father wants power. Which I think it’s an important distinction
Well after what happened to Hyakkimaru, how he suffered, should he give a damn about prosperity of the region? besides, people were still being attacked and starving so prosperity is a stretch.
Honestly it's his birthright to have all his body parts. Him fighting back for them and becoming more human is important. As he regained his missing pieces he showed more human emotions. Yes more humanely weaker but more human and that's important. All he wanted was to be human again really
I was playing far cry recently and the character Noore is in a parallel situation. Her family was being held hostage so she was working for the oppressive government. I still killed her because as the other game characters bring up, how many families did she kill to protect her own? There's no easy way to determine if personal rights should be respected above the rights of others, but I don't think saying "it's his birthright" is enough to justify bringing back famine and drought to the land. However, I also would choose to restore myself out of selfishness.
I love this one, great story, great showing of the struggle in different levels of society. This shows main question 1 life vs many still has me pondering.
This is much better than the other channel. You speak at a speed that allows information to be processed AND you don't expect (me) the viewer to know who every character is.
The freaky thing is, this is just creepily accurate text to speech. If you listen closely you can hear the automated screwups and voice at the end of every word.
The best part of the show was that the person who had their body stolen nearly lost their humanity only for someone to help them keep to the right path
No I don't too live in a world like that then there would be evidence of a after life and God I would live a pure life because you see death ☠️ too die a go to a fate much worse then the world u just left Lord Jesus thank you the world needs to repent
Haven't seen the anime, but wouldnt the dad be a bad guy? Made a deal with demons for whatever in exchange for them taking his first born's body parts, son is born without said body parts, dad practically "kills" his son by putting him on a raft and setting it adrift. Even if someone finds him, who would want to deal with a baby, let alone one without legs and arms?
@@ZeroHelios46 Although he did do all of that the reason for it was so that his village would prosper since they were going through drought and starvation
People are commenting on the theme being karma and what you get when you make "deals with the devil(S)". I think it's more to do with the relativism of good and evil, and the aspect of voluntarism in being a martyr. Hyakkimaru "deserves" to get his body back and we root for him. Yet as he progresses Hyakkimaru encounters multiple people opposing him. Many of the opposing parties have something to lose at the death of their respective demons (Hyakkimaru's father's main motivation). You can look at it like Jesus being forced into the role of a martyr as opposed to willingly choosing it. He would be in his "right" to fight back and resist. Like if Jesus came back Hyakkimaru style, reclaiming himself, we'd probably have a few people saying "woah let's just talk about it for a second". Does the responsibility for the masses' well being fall to the one who unwillingly paid for it in the first place? Is he obligated to give up what he is "deserved" for the sake of others? The anime poses the question often with every opposition. We even see Hyakkimaru's own zealotry for reclamation almost consume him along the way. An anime I deeply enjoyed watching. Glad I stumbled upon it.
Sad part of all of this is how so many are draw to the lore of this anime...this action packed, blood spilled anime while we are all fat, slovenly, people talking about it like we actually have anything to do with the lore. It's just a story invented by a man or a team. At least that team is earning money to support their family or their vices. WTF are the rest of us doing? Eating this shìț up, just eating it all up wasting time and money on this crap. 😑
@@scrapefrenzy bro... people can work jobs/get education while still having hobbies... u dont even need to pay money to watch anime except like an electrical bill. you are making such a large generalization with no proof, much less any fair reasoning as to why you called all anime fans "fat, slovenly, people" and "wasting time and money on this crap" like jfc dude. do you not have a hobby?
This is actually a remake of an old manga by Osamu Tezuka, The Godfather of manga and anime. They even actually rewrote the entire manga with new art style and a different plot before adapting that into the anime. You can tell that the original always wanted to be a dark fiction manga but it was hindered by censorship guidelines of its time (1960s) im sure Osamu Tezuka would have loved the new adaptation if he was alive today
It’s amazing to me that this teen had no magical swords or magical prosthetics, no magical abilities or even some sort of magic demon inside him, was able to overpower and slay these demons that in any other manga or anime would be somehow magically immune to blunt weapons like this.
When your only goal in life is to become whole and this is fueled by the flames of anger from betrayal and you’re free from the shackles of anything that can hold you back because quite literally everything good was taken from you; that man would become a force of nature until he finally finishes his journey.
I love you man I've been searching for this full anime and could never find it or be able to watch it if I did so thank you for this. I had to pause because seriously thank you
this was sooo good, came here..watched 10 seconds of video and went to see the whole thing. highly recommend to watch it before getting the spoilers. then came back for the "take my like to the video, my dear sir."
My favorite anime Better title for vid "Demons stole his body parts so he takes them back one by one" mainly because the act of regaining his body doesn't make him explicitly stronger it hinders him
Does anyone else remember the ps2 about killing demons to regain lost body parts? It started off in black and white until you got your eyes from a demon if I remember correctly. Nostalgia is a wonderful thing
Thank you for the "series explained" video. I was always interested in this anime but never had the time to watch. I always saw clip but never knew what anime it was from but this gave me all the details needed
I remember watching this in my freshman year of highschool currently summer going to senior so around 3 years and I still remember this W anime called Dororo I highly recommend watching it
A horrible father who made the wrong choice. This is what it is: The Sins Of The Fathers. Daigo doesn't care about his people, all he ever cared about is the land.
Was it the 'wrong' choice though? He gave the people of his land a good life because of that sacrifice. There was another village (With the moth demon) that was doing well, because of sacrificing to the demon. Are demons bad, if they're causing good and prosperity? Why are they bad, simply for being demons?
Regardless right choice or not people need to understand that u shouldn't save 1 life over 10 life's he did what he did not that he doesn't care but if u gotta make a choice that it's either the people u love for to let die or just your child u love so much to let die it puts u in a situation on what's more important I say regardless if a person is a parent if your the leader of a country kingdom or land I say do what's necessary if your left to let your family die or a entire country kingdom or land or be selfish an let your family live an let other family's parish it all determines how peoples decisions effects them to they're graves
This was the anime that made me got into anime again (i usually only watch whatever was airing on tv, so dororo made me start watching seasonal animes)
Watched it on otakustream along thousands of other incredible viewers, good old days. Those days will be missed just like otakustream, its people as well as of course, the legend himself, phoenix cola.
👋😳😲I've been watching anime since 1983 this one was unique and different enough for me to keep watching I like how they put real life scenarios in to💪😢✌️😏 these damn animes
the demons would've never made a deal if they didn't stand to gain more, a "normal" hyakkimaru would've saved the land and brought even more prosperity than what the demons gave, they took away his obvious pontential as a ruler and saviour, making it seem like it was "just one life for thousands", while in reality they tried to doom the land to their reign of terror where they did as they pleased. never choose the easy way out, earn from your labour, don't take what is not rightfully yours and you will find salvation for yourself and those that accompany you.
This is actually one of my favorite stories, when I was young I used to play the video game based on the manga( which is really old): Blood Will Tell. It was on PS2 and I didn't have any space on my memory card, so I used to play the first couple hours of the game over and over again. Been wanting to replay it for a while, but never have gotten around to it. It was a very cool thing to 8 year old me
This was also that PS2 game "Blood Will Tell"! I played it a lot! I never quite understood how could a person move or even be alive with no muscles, organs, bones...basically anything. They say it's magic but man even that's a strech. But I still like the franchise a lot
It was a good anime I saw this video watched The whole thing and came back to this video the only thing that threw me off was how his leg grew back after defeating the demon in the sand when that was the demon with his voice
I found this anime a long time again cuz I was tryna watch demon slayer for free on RU-vid so I searched it up and for some reason this popped up, I didn’t know it wasn’t demon slayer so I watched the entire like 4 hrs of the vid which had all the eps combined, and that’s how ended up watching this anime.
Why do people always say that it was for power when it was for prosperity? The point of the story is that the father sacrificed his son so his people could thrive. When his son starts to get back his body the entire nation starts to collapse.
Did it though? Famine, pestilence, and poverty were always there. The demons just kept it at bay. Rather than taking the hard path and confronting each issue as a leader should, he took the easy path and sacrificed something he didn't think he would need. He wasn't protecting his land from his son regaining his limbs, he was rationalizing his decision. He could have carried his burden by taking care of his son until his dying day but again he rationalize it by tossing his son away as a "needed sacrifice". Anyways I'm starting to ramble. This man wasn't noble, he was a coward.
@@Rin-vh9so I'm not one to judge because you can't really say what you would do in that situation. I mean people have resorted to violence and shit to feed themselves let alone their family or the people they lead. It's easy to say "don't take the easy way out" and "confront each issue as a leader should" but you have to realize he's been in power the entire time and the land and everything went to shit despite his best efforts. was he a coward, maybe, but desperate people do desperate things when backed into a corner. Oh i'm not justifying his decision, i just understand how someone could fall so much.
@@chi7818 I understand if there is money's involved after all if we become communist it literally be utopia btw china Russia and North Korea are not communist communist ideology is noone in charge and very much everyone is equal and help each other
@@nothingherezero7182 well communism would never work because different jobs have different difficulties. For example being a doctor takes dozens of years of schooling, some jobs are extremely physically demanding such as construction, while some jobs are easy as shit like being a librarian. Not enough people would do the harder task if they aren’t going to get compensated properly.
