Adamastor would also be a good new demon, it's the only Portuguese god I know. He was created by Camões in his epic poem Os Lusiadas from 1572. Camões is basically the Portuguese Shakespear. You can find all the information you need on Adamastor on Wikipedia. If you ever do a Part 2 to this video I'd love to see Adamastor in it.

There's a weird myth here in Brazil that I simply can't keep to myself. In the northeast of the country during the 70s, a radio announcer made a joke about a guy who arrived home and laid down in the bed next to his wife and when he looked down there was a hairy leg sticking out from under the bed (indicating cheating ). People at the time confused the context and thought that the leg was the entire organism, and that's it, the third largest regional complex in the country in fear of being attacked by a walking hairy leg. This ladies and gentlemen is the story of the Perna Cabeluda (Hairy Leg).

Lithuanian/Baltic folklore is utterly insane, as you may already know. As much as I wanna talk about Perkūnas, I'd much rather talk about two very particular beings from my native mythos that I'd love to see in this. First off, Velnias. Alternatively spelled as Velinas, he is a ruler of the Lithuanian/Baltic underworld that more-often-than-not acts as a trickster, primarily loving to troll his arch-rival/enemy Perkūnas. One internet friend of mine that's less familiar with Lithuanian folklore had described him as a sort of crossbreed between Hades and Loki. After the coming of christianity into Lithuania, his name's former spelling had been repurposed as the Lithuanian word for "devil", as he was syncretised with the devil AKA Satan AKA Lucifer. I personally tend to view him as not enjoying all the syncretism with _the devil_ that much when trying to interpret him into different franchises, so in here, I could see him as a chaos-aligned demon that nonetheless doesn't fully vibe with Lucifer. Then there's one of the more iconic figures of _very particularly_ Lithuanian folklore, the Iron Wolf. The story goes like this: this one duke of Lithuania (I think it was Gediminas, but it may have been Vytautas, I don't recall it exactly) had gone off hunting, and fell asleep while resting. In the ensuing dream, he saw the hill he was near, and on it - a wolf. The wolf was seemingly made of pure iron, was freaking _huge,_ and was howling so strongly and loudly that it was compared to the simultaneous howl of _a hundred_ wolves. After discussing the dream with a certain druid-like figure whose name I'm _also_ forgetting, it was decided that he would build a city atop the hill where the wolf was, and this city would come to be the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius. This guy, at least in the world of mythology, is a _big deal_ in Lithuania, so seeing it would be awesome.

There was a similar poll put out on the Megaten subreddit before Vengeance's release, and I was a big petitioner for the inclusion of both Tsuchinoko and the Black Knight Satellite, since my two favorite types of demons are odd/cute Yokai and creepy urban legends. Tsuchinoko definitely feels way overdue, since it's a very iconic Japanese cryptid that still retains a pretty substantial amount of relevance to this day. As for the Black Knight Satellite, I think SMT is well overdue for more space-age and tech based demons, given the series roots and lore. I'm imagining the BKS as a sort of demonic counterpart to Cherubim, an 'evil eye in the sky' that could make a really cool late game encounter.

12:20 on the topic of the Wild Hunt, I think Herla Cyning, the leader the Wild Hunt in British folklore, would make a really cool demon. He was a legendary king of the Britons who, after attending the wedding of a dwarf king within the Otherworld, found himself hundreds of years into the kingdoms future, with the Saxons now ruling the land. He was given a small bloodhound by the dwarf king, who told not to dismount his horse before the dog leapt off, otherwise crumbling to dust as demonstrated by some of his men who jumped off to early. He and his men now wander eternally, waiting for the dog to alight. He is thought to be related to both Odin and the Erlking.

Got a fun idea for an Enigma demon. Take the classic internet urban legend of polybius and turn it into a demonic arcade cabinet that projects a 3D version of the demon sprite the older megaten games used to represent how many demons you were fighting. Also it could focus on status efects to reference how the game supposedly made players sick and crazy.

The association between Yemoja and mermaids / oceans actually has somewhat of a tragic origin. In her original context in West Africa she was almost exclusively associated with freshwater bodies like rivers and lakes. It was only after the beginning of the transatlantic slave trade did she begin to be associated with oceans and mermaids as the mermaids were considered the spirits of those who had drowned at sea. So during the course of the slave trade as West African people were forcefully taken to the Americas many of them "chose the sea" so to speak and so the surviving enslaved people's memorialized them by telling stories of drowned souls becoming mermaids. Because of this Yemoja is only really associated with the oceans in African diaspora religions like Haitian Vodou and Brazilian Umbanda, in modern-day Nigeria she's still mostly associated with rivers and freshwater springs.

@@strain42 Still on the Yoruba themed, there is a group of daemon that need more exposure in general; the Ajogun! To make thing short, the Ajogun are the opposite counterpart of the Orisha, each of them represent a negative aspect, they are supposed to have 600 + of them, the plus representing the fact their always a new Ajogun that appear (back in 2020 the Covid was considered to be a new Ajogun) . They don't have a central figurehead who rule them, but a council of 8 warlords, representing the worst thing in existence, like Death (Ikù). It's the shame they aren't more well known, because they are great material for story telling.

Instead of making a comment about whimsicott i'll say that a demon i want to see in SMT is Iku-Turso, a finnish sea monster who's also the god of war and poison or disease as well if I remember right, he's in some depictions a giant squid or a giant walrus, but my first introduction to the beast was in a donald duck comic where it's a giant frog monster the size of a skyscraper and it's been stuck in my mind ever since, would make a cool mid to high level demon with bufu and poison spells.

I think I first learned of the Nightmarchers via Lilo and Stitch the Series. I'd be really excited if Ghatotkacha showed up as a demon in SMT. He's the half demon son of one of the Pandevas in the Mahabharata. At one point one of the heroes can't fight in the big war because his rival will use an instant kill weapon on him if he does, so Ghatotkacha goes out and uses his illusion magic to become such a problem for the opposing army that they have to use the instant kill weapon on him or accept outright defeat. I think it'd be fitting and morbidly funny if he at least resisted every element other than the instant kills, which he'd be weak to.

I personally would love to see the Van Meter Monster to represent my home state of Iowa. The story goes that in 1903 a humanoid bat like creature similar to a dragon, terrorized the town of Van Meter for a week. This creature could fly and shoot blinding lights from it horn. When the town’s people shot at the monster it was unfazed by the bullets. The town’s folk hunted the monster down and tracked it to a coal mine. When they found it the monster was emitting a bright light and the creature wasn’t alone. It had a smaller one with it. The two monsters flew off in cascade of bullets which didn’t leave a scratch on them. Van Meter would definitely be immune to gun and physical moves. It would specialize in debuffing the enemy’s accuracy using the blinding light it emits. For offensive moves it would probably use lightning or fire.

Herne The Hunter (European Folklore): A famous British ghost story whose origins are quite vague given the first time his legend was mentioned was in none other than in William Shakespeare's The Merry Wives Of Winsor. Some possible interpretations of the legend have him being the leader of The Wild Hunt myth or the Germanic God of The Wild Hunt Wotan/Odin, a man who committed a Faustian bargain after getting gored by a stag, an alternate version of the Gaelic God Of Beast Cernunnos and possibly many other Pre-Christianity Pagan Gods, or possibly based on a real yeoman or poacher under King Henry VIII who committed suicide. With his notable attributes being with antlers on his head, chains whose rattling follows him wherever he goes, a trusty steed (though not apart of Shakespeare's original poem about Herne, with some iterations also having a back of hunting dog and a horn to signal his arrival), and him haunting around one particular tree known as Herne's Oak. And whichever interpretation they go with (or possibly lean heavily on the Shakespearnian influences for the look) I think Herne could make for an interesting addition for the series. Perytons: A hybrid of a deer and bird with the odd feature having the shadow of a man that turns into a proper shadow of its form the upon taking a human life. Outside of odd shadows, what makes the Peryton unique from other fellow random animal hybrids like the Jackalope and Skvader is their ties to the city of Atlantis, being a native species from the island until its collapse lead them all to migrate to nearby land (namely Greece and Rome). And while the creature's ties to Atlantis and well..the Peryton itself is entirely made up in one guy's book documenting various mythical creatures (though it was likely inspired by various other similar hybrid creatures), its unique backstory could lead to a lot of fun design potential. Whether making them more aquatic/Greeco-Roman inspired to match modern interpretations of the city. Or make the Perytons a creation of the Atlanteans (whether be mechanical, bio-mechanical, or an entirely artificial creature) as a reference to how pop culture frames the Atlanteans as technologically advanced but blind to their own hubris as their man eating creations are the one thing that survived the fall of their civilization. Also fun fact. a Peryton is also a scientific term for short, man-made radio signals that mimicked natural fast radio bursts thought to come from space. But was soon discovered the phenomenon was actually caused by the Observatory's microwave being opened prematurely which was then picked up by their equipment. Grootslang (African Mythology): A giant elephant-snake hybrid who were one of the first animals created by the gods when the world was young. But soon learned they gave the Grootslang far too much power with both incredible strength and intelligence so the species would then be split apart to create the modern elephant with the exception of one remaining member that managed to escape. It is also known for its insane greed, hording massive piles of precious gems in its underground "Wonder Hole". Ijiraq (Inuit Folklore): A creature that I actually learned about from a close friend of mine, the Ijiraq is shapeshifting being with consistent red eyes and twisted facial features turned sideways. They were once normal people who ventured far from their homes causing them to be stuck between worlds neither dead nor alive. Thanks to their strange abilities such causing hallucinations and being impossible to see outside of the corner of your eye, they curse the land around them to make anyone who crosses destined to get lost; either leaving them to die or kidnapping their prey so they can also become fellow Ijiraq (most commonly targeting children). They are also associated with another creature known as the Tariaksuq, human caribou hybrids who live in societies similar to humans just that they are invisible to the naked eye outside of their shadows. Elizabeth Bathory (Real Life): While I may not be huge on real life figures as demons, Elizabeth seems like shoe in besides Vlad The Impaler. Given her "alleged" crimes of murdering hundreds of young women with the aid of her servants either out of sadistic pleasure or commonly believed, to bath in their blood as a way to retain her youth. Which led her to be renvisioned as a vampire in folklore and in various media nowadays.
@ogopogoagogo
@ogopogoagogo Месяц назад
Some of my ideas for potential demons The Van Meter Visitor (US Cryptid): One of my favorite cryptids, the story goes that a strange pair of creatures were spotted in one of the coal mines in Van Meter, Iowa described to have bat like wings (though often stylized as more of a pterosaur like being) that then shot various strange lights from the horn its head at the viewers before flying off into the night. And to put it in simple terms, if a pair of pterosaurs that shoot laser beams from their foreheads isn't a cool idea for an SMT demon, I don't know what to tell you man. Vejigante (Puerto Rico Traditions): They were originally demonic figures that people would dress as to scare those into going to church, they have since been used as costumed festivities often seen during holidays, carnivals, and festivals notably in the aptly named Carnaval de Vejigantes. With many places even having traditions of making their own demonic Vejigante masks made of paper mâché, clay, or cow/pig blatters for said festivities. Mari Lwyd (Welsh Traditions): A unique Christmas tradition, the Mari Lwyd is a horse headed apparition who alongside its band of caretakers goes to people's houses (often those on the richer side) where it would then sing in rhyme asking to be let in where then the occupants who sing back giving excuses why they can't/won't do so. This goes on until either the Mari and its caretakers leave or the family is no longer able to make excuses where then the Mari and its party is let in and are free to eat as much of your food, drink all your beer. and if they don't decide to leave, just sleep in your home for the night; the Mari Lwyd also spending time playing with the occupants during the meantime. This has a perfect blend of both being creepy and goofy (yet oddly wholesome) in concept couple with the idea of having the beat it in a battle of song to get onto your party (or have it join either way but it consumes a majority of your items and/or is only a temporary party member) just sounds great. The Yule Lads (Iceland Traditions): This band of brothers who pester folks during the holidays just sounds like shoe in for another batch of cute mascot demons for the series or just new variants for Jack Frost. You can even add in their much crueler, children eating family like their mother Gryla, the father Leppalúði (who is actually Gryla's third husband), and of course their giant pet, The Yule Cat. The Flaming Sword Of Eden (Christianity): Basically after Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden Of Eden, God station beings to protect the Tree Of Knowledge and Tree Of Life to prevent anyone else from repeating the sin. Including both the Cherubim and a sentient flying sword thats constantly on fire. While many angels even in SMT do wield a flaming sword in hand, even as simple the idea of floating holy sword on its own I think there is a lot of unique directions you can take the design. Whether having the sword creates an avatar body made of its own fire to wield itself, making it a holy automaton to accentuate its role as the guardian of Eden, or just making it a biblically accurate version of Honedge, there is a lot of fun ideas you can take this idea. Snails (Medieval Artwork): Often seen in old Medieval artwork, there is a weirdly many pieces showing knights doing battle with snails whether it be the size of typical house snail or larger than the knight's horse. With the snails likely being representation of the slow but inventible crawl of death that comes to us all; also, kind of unrelated but there was a meme/hypothetical with a similar premise of an immortal snail who hunts you down for eternity that will instantly kill its target upon contact. So why not have giant snails as enemies in an SMT game, maybe style their shells after medieval tapestry and load them up with various instant kill spells while you are at it. E.T The Extra Terrestrial - Atari 2600 (Urban Legends): There are many digital creepypastas/urban legends many have proposed for potential demons namely Polybius and Missingno (both are also neat ideas). But there is an even more fun alternative going off the famous rumor (later to proven true) of Atari burying truckloads of their games in a landfill in Mexico after the Video Game crash of 1983 left them with a massive stock they couldn't sell. Just imagine an army of distorted alien sprites that rise out of the ground to swarm you in hordes or even lead you into giant pitfalls like their game. Plus it could be interesting to see them somewhat return to pop culture demons like Chris and Betelgeuse or even try to make this hunchback lima bean a new cute mascot demon like Jack Frost (though likely more in the same way a pug is cute). Alternatively, you could combine their inspiration with other famous goblinoid cryptids like the Hopkinsville Goblins or The Melon Heads. Inaccurate Dinosaur Reconstructions: I find the lack of dinosaurs in this series about demonic entities disturbing and while there are plenty of dinosaur-based cryptids out there like Mekelo Mbembe, The Ropen, various Nessie-likes, etc. A more interesting direction is to bring to life the many inaccurate recreations of various fossils (like the model recreations in Crystal Palace Park) while also basing them off the monstrous, fully reptilian representation of dinosaurs seen in pop culture. Whether it be the classic kangaroo stance T-Rex, Buckland's reconstruction of Megalosaurus, aquatic Brontosaurus/Pterosaurs, Spinosaurus in general given how often it gets reconstructed (or the famous Spinofaarus), sea turtle Therizinosaurus, or literally anything made by David Peters: those things are genuine monstrosities of nature. Or go in completely different direction and just make a weird chimera of various dinosaur skeletons kitbashed into one entity. Caeneus (Greek Mythos): Its honestly more due to his unique origins as Caeneus was originally born a woman named Caenis. But after an encounter with Poseidon (either her yielding before him or having sex/raped by Poseidon leaving her pregnant), Caenis was granted one wish from Poseidon as compensation which she used to make Poseidon turn her into an indestructible man. Later becoming a ruthless king of Lapith who would infuriate the gods by making his citizen worship his mighty spear. Ultimately meeting his end during the attack on the centaurs during the marriage of Pirithous where a group of centaurs would literally beat him into the dirt causing Caeneus to either suffocate in the ground or be bonked directly into Tartarus. The Mellified Man: This kind of potential demon I could imagine either as its own thing or as a variant of Daisoujou, are based of an old mummification practice where those near death would eat, drink, and even bath in nothing but honey till their inevitable death. Where their corpse would then be sealed in a coffin filled with honey and after the course of centuries, their body and the surrounding honey would become a candied substance. Which would be eaten directly or broken down to be used in various medicinal concoctions as a cure all from ailments, diseases, and broken limbs; derived from how honey also many uses/beliefs in ancient medical practices. Not only is it a uniquely grotesque concept for a demon, if they were to bring in Bhramari or one of many gods of bees in mythos, it would be fitting for them to have what are basically honey mummies by their side. The Masque Of The Red Death (Gothic Literature): A highly deadly disease that uses the form/shell of a masquerade ball dancer from one of the most famous pieces of Gothic Literature in history, sounds like a perfect demon idea. Zahhak The Serpent King (Persian/Zoroastrian Mythology): He was once a kind but gullible prince who due to the manipulation of Ahriman (the embodiment of destruction and evil in Zoroastrian Mythology) was turned to a blood hungry tyrant to spread chaos. Tricking him into killing his own father, feeding him meat in his once vegan diet, and notably cursing him after kissing both of the king's shoulders causing two large snakes to sprout from them. Forcing Zahhak to consume a stew made with two brains from his subjects just to prevent the snakes from killing their host. Zahhak would then usurp the current ruler of the world Jamshid (who lost his divine right to rule due to his arrogance and whom was split in half by Zahhak's men) until the prophesied hero Fereydun lead a revolt and sealed him under a mountain until the end of days. The Hounds Of Tindalos (Lovecraftian Mythos): Extradimensional doglike monsters who suck the lifeforce out lower organisms they find across time and space that you can only view at certain angles is a simple but effective Demon for the series. Honorable mention to Charles Le Sorcier, an alchemist who made himself immortal just to spite the bloodline of the man who killed his father by killing each one his descendants upon their 32nd birthday under the guise of magical curse. Merlin (Arthurian Legend): I would just like to see more Arthurian Legends in SMT and Merlin just seems like a natural fit. Not only being the image of what most would imagine of a typical wizard, but he is also tied to demon themselves. With Merlin originally being the Anti-Christ created by an Incubus creating a virgin birth within his mother as a tool to undo all the good Jesus has done. Until he was christened while in the womb expelling all of the evil from him while still being born with many great magical powers eventually becoming King Arthur's personal prophet. Also, you make an interesting dungeon around him given his pension of enchanting various items and locations like making a bridge that only the pure hearted could cross or a seat that kills those not meant for sit upon it.

Somewhat late comment but I hope it is seen. Having a chaos entity like Perkele which suffered the fate of Baal could be interesting. What we know of Perkele was that it was likely a more primal version of Ukko (and possibly even the other gods with shared roots like Perun and Perkunos). It was known as primordial forest god but after christians demonized it and the other finnish gods, the word turned to mean something like a curse, often transalated to "beelzebub". Ironically the name lives on as maybe the most well known word from Finland around the globe. It could be easy to see it as a shackled demon being held back from its old power yet being given more strenght each time its name has been uttered.

For me personally, what I want to see in future titles are some mythological creatures and even deities in my homeland which is in the Philippines since that Manananggal is already in the series which open the possibilities even further since Rinok (personified earthquake in one of the creation myths) in Persona 2. In particular in more basic level and the one I know the most, I would like to see Diwata (Philippine equivalent to nymphs and minor goddesses), Santelmo (Ball of fire said to be spirits who are drowned in some accounts) Sarangay (Philippine equivalent to Minotaur who emit smoke on its nose when angered and has a gemstone on its ear), Tikbalang (Half-man half-horse who love to trick people that can be commanded by getting a hair from their mane) Kapre (Smoking giants dwelling in tree who has unfortunate past relating to the Spanish conquest of the Philippines), Tiyanak (Terrifying spirits who are either aborted or unbaptized babies, or spirit of the earth that shapeshift into a baby to trick and prey upon passerby). Sarangay and Tikbalang in particular, are creatures that I also like to see partially because of SMT 4 rendition of Minotaur and Centaur remind them of those creatures (Centaur with their humanlike stance and elongated legs, Minotaur with the loincloth). Also bonus point if they made Tiyanak both terrifying and sometime that is unironically kickable because I definitely not despite that thing in particular because of a childhood fear. Another common creatures would be Duwende (Philippine equivalent to dwarf), Sirena & Syokoy (Philippine equivalent to merfolks) and Aswang (Philippine equivalent to ghouls, vampire and even shapeshifters). For creatures I heard less, I would like to see Batibat (Fat creatures that cause nightmare to those whose chest they see), Amomongo (Cyrptid ape in the Philippines), Tahamaling & Mahomanay (Tree spirits noted for their sexual dimorphism) and Biradalli (Winged maidens of the rainbow) For named deities and folk characters, I would like to see Dumakulem (god of hunting and mountain in the Katagalungan); Libulan, Liadlao, Lisuga and Licalibutan (four young deities whose death form the moon, sun, stars and the earth); Maria Makiling (a famous diwata of Mt. Makiling who is sometimes joined by Maria Sinukuan and Maria Cacao) Bakunawa (Moon devouring serpetine dragon) Minokawa (Giant bird who cause either solor or lunar esclipse by causing celestial bodies in many variants) and Lam-ang (A folkhero from Biag-ni-Lam-ang) Finally, for the modern and contemporary creatures, I would want to see White Lady (Woman who die in tragedy or accident and haunt the places where she die), Kugtong (Cebuano for giant grouper, it can refer to the Cebuano urban legend of a giant human eating grouper), and the Serpent of Robinson Mall (A rumour of a snake lady who devour people and live under a Robinson Mall).

Love the vid, always enjoy these sorts of mythology centric showcases.

How about a Black Volga? It was an urban legend here in Poland and other east block countries in 60's and 70's that spoke of a black GAZ-21 or GAZ-24 car that would be used to abduct and kill people. Depending on the version it was driven by the secret communist police, Russian mafia or even the devil himself. The motive depending on the version was to use the blood from the murdered people to sell to rich westerners with leukemia, stealing organs or simply getting rid of people that opposed the communists. In the version with the devil the car is depicted as having horns instead of side mirrors and 666 on the license plate and the devil would stop and ask you for time, when you did, you would either be killed there and now or the next day at the same hour.

Since the series already has demons based off real-life serial killers and maniacs (Mad Gasser and Night Stalker), it would be neat if they added more of them such as Vlad the Impaler, Jack the Ripper, or Blackbeard. Speaking of which, more maritime-based demons would be neat too, and i mean ones like Captain Van Der Decken, also known as the Flying Dutchman. Or ones based off more modern incidents such as Indrid Cold, a bizarre man running around West Virginia during the famous Mothman era. C'mon Atlus, give Mothman his alien friend.

This is such a silly local legend but there's something in my area called The Big Muddy Monster or the Murphysboro Mud Monster, some call it a Bigfoot adjacent but the more interesting interpretation are the ones who make it out to be a monster made out of mud. It terrorized the town of Murphysboro, Illinois for 2 weeks and they all they could find was a footprint (hence the Bigfoot similarities). Some think it was a Polar Bear that escaped a local circus that just got real muddy and just wandered town but still a fun thing to look back on for Southern Illinoisans.

Myths and monsters from Brazilian folklore: The Headless Mule: It is a ghost of a woman who was cursed for having betrayed herself to a priest and was condemned to transform into a mule that has fire instead of a head, galloping through the fields. The pink dolphin: The dolphin as a being capable of transforming into a man dressed all in white, with the aim of seducing and impregnating women at riverside parties. The Boto is an animal that exists in Brazil and is a pink dolphin that lives in rivers. Mapinguari: Mapinguari is a Legend derived from some Legends of the Indians of the Amazon Region. The caboclos say that inside the forest lives the Mapinguari, a hairy giant with an eye on its forehead and its mouth on its navel. For some, he is actually covered in hair, but he wears armor made from turtle shells, for others, his skin is like alligator skin. According to this Legend, some Indians, upon reaching an older age, would evolve and transform into Mapinguari and would begin to inhabit the interior of the forests, living only inside and alone. There are also those who say that their feet are shaped like a pilão hand. The Curupira: In Brazilian folklore, the Curupira is a character described as a strong and agile dwarf with red hair who has his feet facing backwards. Thus, when walking, the curupira can deceive anyone who intends to follow him by looking at his footprints. The pursuer will always think he went in the opposite direction. Legend states that the Curupira lives in the forest doing mischief, being considered the protector of the forests. Saci: Saci-pererê legend is considered one of the most emblematic in Brazilian folklore. Saci-pererê, or simply saci, is a mischievous black boy, who smokes a pipe and carries a red hood that gives him magical powers. One of the important characteristics of this character is that he only has one leg. Cuca: Cuca is a character from Brazilian folklore. She is an old witch with a scary appearance who has an alligator head and huge nails. Owner of a frightening voice, Cuca kidnaps disobedient children. Legend has it that the witch Cuca sleeps once every seven years. Therefore, parents try to convince children to sleep at the correct times, otherwise they will be taken away by Cuca.

In Mi’kmaq folklore, there’s this rabbit named Apli’kmuj who likes to get his friend, an otter named Kiwnik, killed as a light-hearted prank. In one story, Apli’kmuj steals Kiwnik’s eels and then transforms into a man-of-war ship, complete with a whole crew of humans. When Kiwnik climbs aboard to get back his eels, he is shot to death and skinned by the ship’s crew. I like to imagine him as a sentient floating ship with a rabbit motif using instant-kill skills

Not a "demon" perse, more of a concept. The *Boltzmann Brain* is a funny concept in quantum physics where the entire universe and its data and information can be stored inside a literal floating brain...and said brain could spontaneously manifest at any point within the existing universe for a fraction of a second. Speaking of wolves... Why not have the Beast of Gevaudan? During the 18th century, a group of man-eating wolves (or wolf-coyote hybrids) were plaguing the providence of Gevaudan (which does exist anymore). So, people started to kill the wolves. But a legend said there was one unkillable canine called the Beast of Gevaudan that would get injured, but always come back. It was finally killed with was probably very normal bullets. But another legend stated that was killed by a bullet made from silver medals of the Virgin Mary (aka Maria).
