Yes agreed.. I feel behind the times lol.. 12-11-2018. I wouldn't be surprised if DJI doesn't stop selling this as they are kind of becoming the evil empire..
The whole setup and plan was simply fantastic. Execution was just beautiful. One question though, did you take manual control during the landing? Or was that autonomous?
Very cool. I notice that the landing spot appeared not to be so close to the take-off location. I imagined the GPS would land somewhat closer than it did. Still, very cool!!
Thanks! Yep; it was off a bit in this video. It is usually within a few feet, but I have seen it as far as about 15 feet off. I have it set to accept a 2 meter radius inside of the software (it sees that it is inside of an acceptable circle about 12 feet in diameter to prevent constant "hunting"). This, coupled with accuracy of the GPS, means that it could be quite a ways off from its takeoff point. I could tighten it up a bit, but so far haven't found the time to see how much of a difference a smaller radius makes...
Excellent setup and nice copter; there's only 2 things that concern me. Why did it drift "hard right" on launch? How close to the launch site does it land?
Well done nice setup Perfect run I understand you were working inside some of the responses that you got we're very childish it was a very good demo f %c the begrudges
Matt if you could send me a list of what you have. I really want to do this. I would appreciate it very much. Please send that i would need to construct this project.. This is exactly what I have been looking for...I hope that i am not asking to much. I thank you for your time.
I know this is an older vid,, but seems you know your stuff, here is a question that I couldnt get 3dR to answer if your doing an autonomous flight, and your flight path takes you out of the range of the transmitter ,, will the aircraft stay on its course to complete the flight, or will it return back to starting point, assuming you remove geo fence etc,, my set up is pixhawk, , flying Iris + thanks
+Elmo Di Calro That is a setting that is inside of the mission control software; you can set it to go into failsafe (RTL, hover, or land), or resume in auto. I have mine set to ignore a loss of signal from the transmitter and continue in auto, but I have it set to RTL in the event of a loss of mavlink signal. That way I always have some kind of positive control over the multirotor.
+sewerzuk i have the same question as well, from where can i adjust the settings that are mentioned above ? can you give a few quick tips exactly on what tabs those settings are available in the mission planner :) thank you very much sir!
nice video. is it possible to stream the video directly in mission planner environment without having that screen setup, if yes then how one can do ?...and which camera we need to install to obtain streaming on mission planner?. I am new to this, somebody plz help!!
Forest is spelled with one "r." And it isn't destroyed at all; not sure where you got that idea. That's a 2nd year reprod unit with about 400 new seedlings per acre.
Hi, Nice Video. I just recently bought a F450 with Nase32 and decide that Acro mode wasn't good/easy for newbie and for filming;-) so I bought an APM 2.6 (i know there is the Pixhawk now, but I wanted to stard with cheaper configuration). I have 2 questions. Did you try the Android Software "Tower". And a question that might sound stupid but how high are you from the top of the trees? This trees might be at least 60fts ? Thank you.
Does Pixhawk support motor Fail-safe? If yes, which version to use? If no, which is good Flight Controller? I knew Naza-M2 support motor Fail-safe(correct me if I am wrong), but its close code, so I am avoiding it as long I have alternate FC.
I built a 450 FPV but I can’t get it to fly properly, do you give advise as I’ve kind of given up as I can’t figure out the problem and no one seems to want to help.
Question. I tried to update Mission Planner now it the APM Planner doesn't work. I've deleted them, all files and tried reinstalling them but they don't open. I've tried installing Mission Planner by installing into a folder by unzipping it and I've tried using the .msi file. I can still use QGroundControl after uninstalling and reinstalling it. What's up with MP?
Interesting video there . . Have you any updated videos ? . . . Im looking for a flight controller that when loses signal will RTH and also does auto leveling as in flight stabization will the APM do that and its fixed winged im thinking of
P arjacpar yes, APM and pixhawk both will do this. I don't have any newer videos, I've built quite a number of UAV'S but haven't documented any recently.
I am new to mission planner and I have followed all the steps. I have calibrated everything using the mission planner on my home pc and all looks good but my question is if I setup mission planner on my laptop will I need to go through the calibration again or is there a parameter save file somewhere? I hope you make sense of this.
Mark M Your quad doesn't need to be recalibrated. All your settings are stored on the APM/Pixhawk. All you have to do is connect via telemetry and you are good to go
Hi Sir if want to start activated/launch hexcopter from computer must have modem? is there any way to launch the hexcopter without modem or Radio controler?
Hello Sir I want to flash firmware version 3.5.7 in my APM 2.8. But when I try to install the firmware it says " is your board a Linux board ". So what should I do , should I click yes or no on this message. Plz reply so that I can flash the firmware properly.
Hi! can you help us?, we are working on FYP drone control using google maps directly. our idea is to fly the drone at the specific level and move to the destination given by user through googl maps . Can you provide us some research paper about it.
Here's his reply to someone else asking the same question: Frame is the F550 clone from hobbyking Motors: 900kv NTM propdrive (wouldn't suggest using those; I've had better luck with Turnigy multistars) ESC's: 30A multistar ESC's (I ended up re-flashing them with SimonK; would have been better going with Afro ESC's...I have built 5 multirotors since this one, all with AFRO and like them much better) Props: Can't remember what is on the machine in the video, but settled on 9x4.5 carbon fiber props Flight controller: APM 2.5 Gimbal: Chinese clone of the AlexMOS gimbal (I have other videos on properly setting these up) Batteries: twin 3.0Ah 3S Turnigy in parallel (discovered that I got more flight time with a single 6.0Ah 3S battery) Camera: I got rid of the FPV camera and just used the video feed from the GoPro
Zachary Caviness You can use a joystick, although I have never tried it. It will fly fully autonomously as well, so I can just program in a flight path from the PC and send it on its way.
Zachary Caviness from the video looks like the following: Frame: DJI Flamewheel F550 Motors: Those HobbyKing ones that everyone suggests not buying ESCS: Those Multistar ESCs from HobbyKing that everyone suggests not buying Props: 8x5 plastic props Flight Comp: APM 2.6 Gimbal: One of those AlexMos 2D BaseCam clones from eBay Batteries: 2 LiPos, looks like 3S Zippys probably 2200Ah Looks like he also has a Sony 600TVL FPV camera and 3DR battery module Radios are hard to tell, but it looks like 3 radios, 915Mhz for MAVLink, 2.4 Ghz for Flight, and possibly 5.8 Ghz for video.
DanStrivelli This was the first Hexcopter that I built; you were close on some of the parts! Frame is the F550 clone from hobbyking Motors: 900kv NTM propdrive (wouldn't suggest using those; I've had better luck with Turnigy multistars) ESC's: 30A multistar ESC's (I ended up re-flashing them with SimonK; would have been better going with Afro ESC's...I have built 5 multirotors since this one, all with AFRO and like them much better) Props: Can't remember what is on the machine in the video, but settled on 9x4.5 carbon fiber props Flight controller: APM 2.5 Gimbal: Chinese clone of the AlexMOS gimbal (I have other videos on properly setting these up) Batteries: twin 3.0Ah 3S Turnigy in parallel (discovered that I got more flight time with a single 6.0Ah 3S battery) Camera: I got rid of the FPV camera and just used the video feed from the GoPro
