Hi there, amazing! just a quick question, how do you transfer the pattern off the wood and onto paper? also, after you have completed the lamp shade, do you somehow solder a wire frame underneath so that it can be put onto a lamp? thank you so much!
I'm new to searching about Tiffany style lamps. Just inherited some, and on bottom it says made in china 2001. I know they are not authentic ones, but do they have any value ? If anyone can answer me it would be appreciated.
Depending on how good you get, these lamps can be built so they look like the were built with small series lead came. Precise fit up, and close attention to even copper tape application, and solder bead up. The method of soldering shown, is basic and crude. Each to his own. I used a acid type patina rub, looked broken blackish tarnish.
I've been looking for the foil tape, flux and soldier here in 🇬🇧 but can't find- and the only coloured glass place in 🇬🇧 I found will not send glass to me!!

It's really beautiful! How do you put the outline on the mode and what is the mode made of? I have made a few lamp shades but for the dome is a different method.
it's copper foiling. Step 1: Cut the stones/glass according to the design. 2: polishing (if gemstones) 3: layout 4: copper foiling 5: soldering 6: spot soldering 7: welding (if you need to make base) 8: send the lamp to market and it would be about 3000 to 5000 USD but..... if your lamp is made of gemstones then it would be about 15,000 USD which we're already selling
Are you referring to lead came? If so, you may not find a lot of examples of this in a lamp. Even if you were working with a panel lamp (composed of 4 or more flat panels) the lead and cement would add a lot of weight to a piece that is only supported in one spot in the center. It's architecturally difficult to manage and build as the lead technique also relies on pressure tapping to push the pieces into place -- difficult on a 3-d form. You may find an exception, but generally, form or panel lamps are copper foil.
