Thanks for explaining. The video was cutting off the part you were trying to show but I got the gist of what you were saying. 240 power only happens when you engage both sides of the service panel.

So much copper is exposed. Does US electrical code allow that? 🤔

These are the circuits on the panel and they are normally cover with Breakers, but this panel is actually being removed this is part of Our job during this recording which is on another video. Wires should always be insulated and connected to the proper Breaker. People should not turn on any breaker, unless they are certain that the circuit is safe and the conductors are not exposed. Electricians use “Lockout” devices to prevent breakers from being turned on while the electrician is working on the circuit.

@@repairsolutions-m4yI was talking about those wires at 2:00. So much copper is shown.

I saw that and no that is not aloud, that was a really bad installation from the previous business owner. You have great observation.

There is no such thing as 220 volt service. In north America it is either 240 volts (single phase) or 208 volts (three phase). In Europe it is 230 volts.

We have 220V supply voltage in Asia but most do have 230V these days.

This 240 volts is split at the main circuit breaker panel into two 120 volt halves, called phases. The 120 volt level is commonly referred to as 110, 115, 120, or 125 volts and is used for lighting and ordinary outlets. Similarly, 220, 230, 240, and 250 volts are used to describe the higher 240 volt level. You will not get an even number even when tested so I do not pay attention to a couple of Volts, unless its a very big difference.

True but tested and you will hardly ever get 240

@@repairsolutions-m4y Of course, we're talking nominal voltages. Whenever I put a meter on the power in my home it's within a couple of volts of 240. I did some troubleshooting at a family member's house and found 211, which confused me, then I looked outside and saw that they were attached to a 3-phase transformer so that was within a few volts of 208.
