Same with Arriva North East's 56 plate Darts notoriously hard to start up, had to basically move the gear selector and press the accelerator and simultaneously start the engine to get ours to work.
Lot of Euro 3 Darts suffer from the same issue when starting them from hot. Alot of people say it's the fuel pump that causes it. It makes sense as most don't have fuel gauges and constantly running the tank low on diesel burns them out.
@@derektaylor2941. Where i live Stagecoach Darts with the 4cyl ISBe engine did struggle to start from hot especially in Summer but they fixed them all. I remember some Euro 2 Darts i used to ride on would randomly cut out after being on a long stretch of road for a while. They would start right up and keep going after that.
Here where I live, they would have already changed the engine, and it runs again because it runs again. With everything and moving things like the air conditioning.
Im not gonna lie, ive seen that before back in 2016 (2017) where the Stagecoach dennis dart running on P4 struggling to leave Brixton. And was a little bit late.
The better darts have AT545 usually these tend to start up better because they’re Euro 2 instead of Euro 3 which it wasn’t till 2003/4 they started to have Pointers with Euro 3 and just had Voith gearboxes
@@danielhardcastle6883 people often just assume it's bad maintenance from buses getting problems instantly, they don't understand that it's caused by stuff like age and the company can't always predict when this stuff will happen too
ArrivaLondonEnthusiast(ALE) I own this bus now, and I don’t have this issue. Some drivers seem to forget that you need to wait for the engine lights to go out before starting, hence why it takes so long.
@@derektaylor2941 it’s possible that it might just be bad maintenance I’ve heard loads of Darts & SB120s start and struggle can’t comment on the 4.5s as much though but probably a lot better
