New Zealand Road Services which was a division of New Zealand Railways ran a fleet of buses based on the S class Bedford truck. Apparently they had the largest fleet of this model in the world. Went to school in the 1960’s everyday on one . They were probably at least 10 years younger than the WA bus. Thanks for the video 👍

Hi John, there were a few bus companies here in Western Australia that used various trucks as the base for their busses. Thanks from Geoffrey

Very similar body type to the AEC the tramways ran here in Victoria

Hi Robert the body was locally built here in WA, but imagine the design was a common one around Australia. Thanks from Geoffrey

Beautiful restoration - I assume the bodywork was done by a WA firm ? And its a diesel engine. Dennis also built a lot of impressive fire engines.

Hi, yes it was a locally built body on the bus and yes it has a 6cylinder Diesel engine in it. Unfortunately I missed getting any video of the engine it’s self. I do like the 1920’s and 30’s fire engines. Thanks from Geoffrey

one thing buses of today don't have a is the pram hooks on the back of the bus for mums who had a pram and the conductor would hook it up on the back for the mum

Hi Chris, I remember when they removed the pram hooks after a Mum put the baby in the pram and then the bus drove off before she could un how the pram. Thanks from Geoffrey
