We are a small wheat and sheep farm on the edge of the Western Australian wheat belt. All the machinery that we use daily is old. We have a collection of vintage machinery that we are slowly restoring and work in a museum looking after and restoring tractors.

Kinda looks like a 2.4m tray or less, so the load would have fitted 90 degrees to its current position, way easier on a trailer.

You refer to Whiteman Park as 'Work' - is this paid work or a voluntary position ? Did you originally train as a mechanic or have you just picked up the knowledge while farming ? Nice paint job on the Farmall !

Thanks for sharing updates on SA farming, very interesting and good for Dad to hear about as he's a retired sheep/lucerne farmer from Mid North District living in QLD (he's now 97years) and likes to hear how things are going down south. Good work!

Yes slow water velocity and retain it in your property for as long as possible But be aware if unusually heavy rainfalls that will certainly destroy your hard work. With top level hydrological advise even this can be minimised. 😊

Ha ha we had a couple of disks welded together with legs on them for cooking snags while cutting wood on the farm. two things have changed since those days, everyone wants them for lawn or wall art now so they cost more then a grill from Bunnings, and no one stops to take the time to light a fire and enjoy nature, it’s gas on, light, cook and keep going.

Should ask the your dealer about vesconite bushes,.the new type we use in the morris quantum bars, they last alot longer and I bet they're still the same 1in pins or 3/4 in pins I bet one of the quantum bushes would suit the older bars

from how far uphill can you get the water flowing from other properties?. i see its quite flat in the second one, you might wan to trycut in a bit with a machine and see if you can get the water course to start snaking a bit. i understand good results with minimal effort is ideal, but have you see geoff lawton zaytuna farm? i wonder if you can put a swale on some of the higher areas feeding a dam which can be used to irrigate a lower swale and then you could potentially get a bit of an orchard growing among some native pioneering species. great effort so far, i love the simplicity and ive seen some videos of peter andrews work, its all the same kind of principle, creating habitat and ecology by greater water infiltration to the land (water harvesting)

It really makes sense. I'm fortunate enough to have a creek that has several natural weirs, water trickles down constantly and it manages to hold water almost all year. I get the benefit, but so do my neighbours, it helps everyone downstream. The alternative is all the water runs out down to the river and out to sea.

Mexicans have been doing this since the agricultural tractor accesories have been invented. We call the "discos". A typical dish is tilapia deep in cooking oil but can fry anything either deep or just fried eggs or anything as in a regular pan. You can also warm the tortillas or make a sauce ....I better stop here.

Do you have any advice for cape weed eradication? Im in Buckland, ( irishtown near northam) and we are just over run with cape weed.
@brookdalefarm7986
@brookdalefarm7986 17 дней назад
Hi, I am sorry I am not sure what to use for cape weed. There will be a selective herbicide for it. You may also find if you start topdressing out some phosphate fertiliser you will get more clovers and the cap weed will somewhat disappear. The cape weed seems to be one of the last things to keep growing when soil nutrients are very low. Thanks from Geoffrey

I'm in Lightning Ridge, Australia. I have a natural water course/gully that runs through my claim. I've been wanting to slow and catch some water for the wildlife as well as stop the erosion from getting too close to my fence. This is perfect! Thankyou 👍
