Denny Hamlin and Hendrick Motorsports have a history. A history of beef. And since 2017, tensions have escalated between the 42-year-old driver at Joe Gibbs Racing and NASCAR's other powerhouse team.
This season there have been multiple run-ins with the three-time Daytona 500 winner and HMS drivers. And now NASCAR Hall of Famer and HMS Vice Chairman Jeff Gordon has jumped into the mix and stirred up the latest controversy.

Yes, because all other stats mean nothing. In fact, NASCAR said because of this very issue they will be burning all records EXCEPT for championships starting next year.

Yeah, because Hamlin hasn't won any races. Like 51 of them. Oh yeah. Hamlin has also had the same primary sponsor for 17 years running now.

Funny Hamlin can dish it out but he can't take it. Please somebody give him some bubble gum, ain't never his fault. He ain't never won a championship, I bet next year he won't win a race,he needs to quit running his mouth and start driving his car with out wrecking somebody to win a race,maybe its time to retire.

O you can bet Hamlin will win a championship BUT IT WANT BE BECAUSE he win by driving it will be by him putting someone in the wall or Fed- Ex and Toyota buying paying nascar off. The only way watch and see

I think what Gordon was trying to say is that he'd rather not have his drivers taunt the crowd like Hamlin did after his Bristol win. Personally, I think that's reasonable. Gordon fully understands what it's like not to be embraced by the crowds despite on-track success, but he never tried to lean into the "villain type".

Heaven forbid anyone should give Hamlin a dose of his own medicine. There is a reason why he and other Gibbs drivers routinely gets booed and Hendricks drivers never.

Jeff was a clean driver. JJ even more so. Have to think Terry Lebonte was too. They had fans because of it. Maybe couldve had more, but maybe not. Those 3 drivers have like 200 wins and 13 cups lol compare that to Dale, Kyle B, and Denny's stats, its close but clean driving has an edge

@@ba97racingI personally think Jeff Gordon dumped less drivers however Jeff also has three championships and 40 victories from 95 through 98 with Hendrick, Denny has never had a career even close to that okay, Hamlin I highly doubt we'll ever win a title.

Hamlin is 2 faced we all know it. He cant get attention the right way by being champion so here we are Hamlin being who he is just trash. Hopefully Bell can escape before its to late. He only one with real talent at Gibbs he needs to be somewhere that it can be displayed. I cant imagine hiring racecar driver and not letting him race whatever he wants to.

It’s is a little crazy how many times the 11 has had incidents with the current HMS drivers. Could you look into other “feuds” might have been? Do the Busch brothers have any enemies on track? Logano did with Kenneth but that was a quick payback and it was over.

@dopeymomasboy Not saying he doesn't. I'm a Kyle Busch fan who had to put up with this asshat as the most unreliable teammate Kyle has ever had for 15 years. I have my own problems with Denny. But in this case, he is right about Gordon. This is only the umpteenth time where Jeff Gordon says 1 thing but means another. I hate to say this, but retirement has clearly not helped Jeff Gordon's memory out.

The sport needs a villain because without someone to 'hate' it feels slightly empty. Now Busch drivers a chevy and everyone seems to have forgotten they hated him for 15 years straight, that role had the risk of going empty, but I do think Denny is the right person to fill that seat
