I had the exact same experience. For decades I only had Sony receivers. I then bought the Denon AVR X6700H. As soon as I started playing music, I was awestruck at the clarity and detail of the sound that was coming out of my Klipsch speakers. The Klipsch never sounded that good with the Sony. Believe me, they sounded great, but I didn't know what was missing till the Denon was playing. I clicked on your video, because I literally had a similar set up the with brands that you have, just a different model tower speaker.
You have good taste in audio equipment 👌🏽. I’m officially a Denon guy now after this receiver! I don’t think I can ever go back to Sony in terms of A/V receivers.
Thx for your time making this video, I love how you just filmed the whole thing with no edits. I'm really interested in this receiver, I'll get it once my TV craps out, it's 11 years old and it's probably going to go soon. Than I'll want to upgrade to 4K, you got me excited so thx
It is well worth the money! I installed four ceiling speakers since this video to take advantage of the Dolby Atmos feature of this receiver and I am extremely pleased with it!
@@jonathanjovenal Oh Wow, cool. Yeah I'm running the Polk Signature Elite Series right now 5.1. So when I get the Denon 1800H AVR I'm going to get height speakers as well. I can't wait
I tried to replace my old Marantz SR6006 with this receiver. I ended up returning it to the store the next day, the sound is just disgusting, no bass, low volume. Yes, I realize that x1800h is an entry level receiver, but I did not expect such a difference in sound. I will now go for marantz sr6015 or cinema50. MA Silver RX6 speakers.
GREAT VIDEO! Thanks for sharing and explaining the features, one question about the A/V receiver, does it only work with 8K HDTVs? Stay healthy and safe out there!
Great video.I hope you are the right person to help me with my query. Im also having denon 1800h with 1) what is your centre speaker crossover? 2) Are you using LFE OR LFE+MAIN
I have my center speaker crossover set to a 500Hz high pass filter per Klipsch specifications of my specific center speaker. As for the subwoofer, I am using the LFE output from the receiver.
What did you do at 30:23 , it's off camera and I can't really see what you're trying. I set mine up and it's just outputting 2.0 despite just going through the initial setup and configuring for 3.1... I've spent over an hour and all audio sources are just coming through front left and front right
I want to connect an external amplifier to the front pre out . I’m assuming the high pass crossover works with the pre out as it does with the front amplified channels ?
The floor standers are Kilpsch R-26F, and the center is a Klipsch RP-440C. Fortunately, I purchased these in 2017 before the newer models with the weird copper colored hardware came out soon after. If I am not mistaken their latest line of speakers don’t have the copper colored hardware anymore.
Congrats! Denon's just work, man. Wouldn't recommend any other AVR than Denon/Marantz. Sony and Pioneer and even Onkyo have all fallen way behind. Tip: pull your center speaker up a few inches so the front edge is aligned with or just past your media center. Otherwise you're getting immediate reflections which can affect intelligibility.
I have an old Onkyo 17 years old, it still works :-) But I want an upgrade. First I wanted the Sony TA-AN1000. It is without a radio and the price for now is nonsense - stupidity. I was also thinking about the Sony HTR 790. That is quite old again. I wanted OK connectivity to SONY tv. Finally, after much hesitation, I chose the DENON 1800 DAB for Christmas under the tree :-). Hopefully it will be enough in terms of performance. I have Polk Signature 5 speakers 8ohm. Size like Jonathan in the video. Denon and Polk should probably be OK, they are probably also commercially linked. Jonathan: how do you feel after a few days? What's the feel/difference: old Sony versus Denon? Thanks in advance for the response and interesting video....
After a few days of owning it and bumping music with it over this past weekend, I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. I feel like the audio is better and I love the different sound modes it offers for playing music, shows, and movies. For me, the way it physically looks plays a big factor when purchasing and I love the styling of the receiver. The GUI is also way better than my old Sony, but I am not sure if Sony updated their GUI’s in their newer receivers. All in all, I highly recommend this receiver.
Thank you very much for your quick response and confirmation of my choice. :-) You confirmed my thoughts. I made a similar purchase decision and read a lot about it in tests. I will give feedback after Christmas...
Hello. As I promised. My experience after a few days in a combination of 5.1 channels. Great sound! Film, music suddenly in another dimension. I recommend. Thanks again for your first video with the Denon1800....@@jonathanjovenal
I had no idea Denon and Marantz were the same company, good to know. Those Marantz receivers are dumb expensive! The styling is also a bit weird compared to traditional receivers but I am sure they perform!
Hi Guys, Could you help me please. Everytime i TURN OFF my TV my denon is still on. and If i turn off using the denon remote, It will turn on again. Anyone could help much appreciatted
The X2800H is great too! It is very similar to the X1800H, except it puts out a little more power at 95W per channel versus the 80W per channel in the X1800H. It also appears to have some more RCA audio inputs. Other than those features, they appear to be the same based on specs.
Both receivers are comparable and to be honest you can’t go wrong with either one. I believe Denon, Yamaha, and Sony are in my top 3 brands for receivers. My opinion: I would still go with the Denon brand receiver. For two reasons. First one is the styling; I prefer the traditional look of a receiver with two knobs on both sides and a display on the center. If you like the futuristic look of the Yamaha, go for it. Second is that Yamaha is not a sound focused company. In the process of making large purchases on anything, I prefer to go with a brand that focuses specifically on whatever it is I am trying to purchase. Yamaha is simply everywhere: motorcycles, jet skis, engines in lawnmowers, etc. Imagine buying a Ford brand A/V receiver… That’s just my take on it.
I got the same as your denon,Ang problema di ma connect ang TV/No audio/No picture to receiver. .Anong problema kaya sir? FM and Bluetooth OK naman sya
@@brianitchon7676 The receiver is not supposed to receive picture feed from the TV, only audio. You will need to make sure that the TV and receiver are connected via an ARC compatible HDMI port. You may also need to enable ARC capabilities in the TV’s menu, keep in mind that some older TV’s are not ARC compatible.
@VeghTheHun ,pretty much nothing is made in Japan anymore, that true if you're buying those buget/entry-level Denon Receiver, but AVRs like the AVR-X4800H and upper tier are made in Japan.
@@user-os3uw4fj8hBut many people can't afford the 4800 or similar models. I know I can't; there's no choice but to buy whatever is available in the $800 to $1000 range, and that means having to deal with wherever it is made.
