When a company informs their customers that a product will include a specific feature, it is reasonable for customers to inquire about its release timeline. Regardless of whether the delay is due to the company’s own challenges or those of their suppliers, maintaining open communication with customers is essential.

I'd somewhat disagree with Chana here. Yes - he's right that nobody needs Dirac ART - but that's true for the AV-area as a hole. 😅 I've also got the feeling, that the particular system, which Channa was able to listen to with ART engaged, wasn't properly set up. Or let me rephrase it: With DL-ART it is now perfectly possible to screw up the imaging, if done wrong (and you can even overload and therefore damage your speakers). But if done right, it is a real game changer.

Exactly right. And clearly it’s still in beta for a reason. If it was ready for primetime, Denon/Marantz and others would already have it.

It was released for Storm Audio and that's the demo that Channa heard. They are well aware of how to calibrate their system as the official release partner of ART.

@@brucecarter6205I was an early beta tester from ART. I have yet to see the latest version. I heard they made it easier to use.

@@joentell The recent versions changed quite a bit compared to the early beta test. E. g. the maximum support frequency is now at 150 Hz compared to 500 Hz. Furthermore, you can't configure the high-pass frequency and slopes anymore (which is quite unfortunate).

Mathew Poe would disagree Chana. Isn't this all about front to back room subwoofer bass as a feature, function entertainment like venue thing. I actually think people who live in shared party wall dwellings like townhouses would benefit in that they can enjoy the bass in a more sonic controlled way without over powering wall shaking reflective dangers with neighbors. Mr. Poe is all in on Waveforming.

And Matthew Poes actually knows what he’s talking about. Channa is clearly way outside of his depth of knowledge. Too many of this RU-vid generation start a channel and then think it somehow makes them an expert in the space. Listen to the true experts like Matthew Poes, Adam Pelz, and Anthony Grimani, who actually understand and know what they’re talking about.

🤦‍♂️So many people don’t understand Dirac ART. Channa shouldn’t talk about things he knows nothing about. There is a reason why ART still in beta and now delayed. It’s not ready for prime time yet, but the theory and the concept behind Dirac ART is sound. Go listen to the people who are actually knowledgeable on the subject. Education people.

Yeah, Channa is absolutely off on this one. They didn't delay it for no reason. The points Joe made about reducing the effect are on point, though. Im sure when it comes out, the setup will be much easier and will offer the ability to dial it into your preferences.

Thanks for the opinion updated release info. I am very curious about how this would sound to my own listening preference, but I am all for that slider tweaking thing. Ok so the product will reach a point where it will finally be released to recoup the research investment and trust Dirac's judgment call.

I’m fairly certain that Joe is not an HTP-1 Dirac ART beta tester. Maybe he heard a demonstration or something. I would love for him to clarify the beta tester claim though.

Are you beta testing ART with your HTP-1? Or what processor are you using to beta test ART? Thanks... I do have the HTP with DLBC and 4 subs. It sounds great to me, and just added the NAD curve which slightly reduces the HF compared to Harman and Dirac curves. I like the NAD curve better for some (bad) recordings.
