This is my sister's story too. Delta Sigma Theta shut her completely out and she cried for an entire month. Looking back it was blessing! To God be the glory! 💖🙏🏾

Stop putting everything on God. The God I serve would have revealed truth. Maybe you were not selected because you are not worthy. The thing that is funny to me, many great leaders and religious leaders are Black Greeks, representing their organization. I am a preacher w M.Div., my Pastor now with M.Div. and Doctoral degree, like many others Dr. Martin L. King, well learner!!! Unfortunately, many Christians misinterpreted scripture and made it want you want it to be. Also, I will say, that every person in Greek organizations lives the standard of their organization.

Hallelujah and God gets all the Glory! I too moved up in the ranks and when I told them that Jesus is the standard and not Delta, it didn't go over well. So much so they told me to be quiet about my renouncment so I wouldn't "confuse" the others. Believe it or not I did, as the backlash I experienced in 2015 was unreal from "sisters" I was close too. It's funny because I started feeling the conviction in 2013, buried it and it came back very strong winter 2015. I verbally renounced and wrote my letter to nationals early 2016 which was hard, then it took me until this year to actually move forward to get the final notarized letter withdrawal letter completed. I had to speak with directors on the phone, then a little over a month later, I was sent my letter confirming I was no longer a member. Same org

Hello beautiful, I'm very basic with my hair care, so I use Shea moisture products. For deep treatment I use honey, Haitian castor oil, olive oil, & coconut oil mixed in a bowl, heat it up for 15 secs in the microwave then add it to my wet scalp/hair for about 4hrs. Rinse it out and consistently spray my hair with water.

TransforMe Ayiti I understand but it’s not a bad thing to be open to differing opinions. The black community is stuck on religion...with no evidence or proof. If someone walked up to you and said I believe people rise from the dead you probably think ‘what movie?’ And spiritual discernment is just church talk for common sense. And if you were born in another country you’d probably be of another religion or of none at all. I don’t mean to come off snobby. I’m sorry if I did. One must be careful. But look at Christianity. Miracles that don’t happen anymore? Why? Good chance they never did. And talking snakes? You can’t take the Bible literally. You just can’t.

TransforMe Ayiti And I hope I didn’t gloss over your achievement. Leaving groups that we previously believed in is a hard thing to do. I know. I once thought AA was everything. And then I started to notice that in order to stay I had to be ‘sick’ for the rest of my life. I would need meetings the same way. But after I thought about it I concluded I got what I needed and it was time to go. And at the end of the day, I did the work. I just needed to give myself a chance again and to stop trying to drown my mistakes. The big book was ok. But it didn’t save me. I did. Christianity was my next stop. I didn’t learn. The church needed me to stay sick too. 😂 And there I was again. I started investigating my religion. I was scared to do this for years. I had to stop thinking about science facts and dinosaurs in order to stay. Anything outside of my little Christian world scared me. But then it got to a point where I didn’t have a choice. It’s an individual thing, And in the black community non believers like me are rare. But that’s changing. And the quiet truth is black community has a rich culture of non believers. They have always been there. It’s easy to go with the flock. Doesn’t mean they’re right. It’s just easier. Butterfly McQueen was a life long atheist. And I defy anyone to find a better person. The fear of investigating Christianity is loaded with the labels of ignorance. The same people who love you one moment will despise you the next. But that’s what a cult does. Christianity was used to enslave our ancestors. “Slaves obey your masters”. And in the book of Philemon, the runaway Onenisimus is instructed to go back to his master. What type of morality is that? As it pertains to religion it's indeed dangerous, especially man made traditions and philosophies. I take comfort knowing that pure religion is taking care of the widows and the fatherless. TransforMe Ayiti Happy Tuesday! I appreciate your pov too. I was trying to find something I wrote when I was a believer. I used to write a lot about my walk and preferring to die so He might live. The book of James...pure religion is...’to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world’. That was my favorite. I realize now it was because it was real. To do these things is what we’re (humanity) is supposed to do. I was raised Catholic but never really bought into it. I lived for many years as a good person without religion but then after being tricked into believing I needed Jesus I stumbled back into church. I believed what everyone else believed. I just couldn’t think about how it didn’t make sense. And I did that for a long time. It was a high and it was an escape from the pain of the world. But it didn’t last. So I studied and read and prayed. I was all in. But nagging questions hung around. And the church didn’t want to hear them. They don’t like questions very much. And then I started to understand that if I were born in another part of the world I would believe whatever that dominant religion is and I would believe it was true too. I began to notice how Christians cherry pick the Bible. No one really wants to admit God did some monstrous things. And why is Abraham almost killing his son because he heard voices a good thing? People get arrested for that behavior. Gilgamesh had a flood story just like the Bible excerpt its much older. No one can take away our experiences but we should question everything. I’m much happier now without religion...most days. I just wish I had met someone like me earlier. In the black community all we hear is an echo. It’s good to hear different voices. But no one can make us not believe what we believe. We believe what we want as long as we need to. Or, like in my case, for as long as we can. The flood of Gilgamesh was exactly like the Bible. The council of nicea and Jesus...can only be found in the bible and maybe one other book. One. And why do Christians divorce when God hates it? @Gerardo Ortiz, that's a great question. Spiritually, one would repent to YHWH, confess and remove all items of the greek organization that they possess. Legally, one would notify the officer of membership at their organization headquarters. They will usually require a notorized letter of renouncement and depending on the organization, some other items may be required.
