Why not put up a sheet of plywood temporarily to hold the insulation in place while filling? That will stop the bowing.

Great video with important information. Done right, it's the best insulation one could have.

Title should be "Insulweb Fabric Demonstration" Is there a part 2 for the actual cellulose application. Thumbs down.

What's the STC rating on a dense-packed 2x4 wall?

How much would it typically cost to do a 480 square foot building two by four walls

Could I use this at an attic kneewall, with the insulweb fabric on both sides?

My contractor showed up this morning instead of cutting the giant holes they cut smaller holes and more of them... They said it was loose fill but dense pack. How can u dense pack without haveing the gaining tube cramed in the wall and moveing it around in the wall to dense pack . The just full each little hole around a ft apart and plug it... Am i getting ripped off is that really concidered dense packing... Lol?

Good demo overall, though the answer @16:39 didn't sound like an answer to me. It sounded more like an explanation of WHEN than of WHY.

His first response was the damp application is faster than webbing. The results are the same. If you don't have the equipment for damp application, then dense pack behind webbing is the choice.

Where can you purchase the insul mesh?
@CyberFenix000

just look for Polypropylene sheet or fabric... you shouldn't be spending more than $50 per 500 sqft. I'm glad I found this video because I had no idea how that fabric was called.

Question 1 can I used this for a crwal space. 2 can I have this done after, my house has the old fiberglass I can repair holes.
@johnellis7614

Fiberglass manufactures like Owens Corning, they refuse to advise suppliers or customers of the fact that their fiberglass batts have a density of less than .5 pounds per cubic feet. Which begs the question, if attic applications require fiberglass density to be 1.5 to 2 pounds per cubic foot, is it not logical to assume that if batts are secretly one-third the weight, than also their stated R rating most be one- third the value? For instead of believing that a 3.5 in. deep batt has a R value of R-15, in my opinion we should assume that it is something less than R-5.

Why not have the wall drywalled, then pump in the cellulose in a few places between the studs. Then the wall is tapped and patching the holes is very little extra work. Then you don’t have to work about all the work you have to do with this insulweb.
@jaredconaway7418
@jaredconaway7418 5 лет назад
Typically in new construction jobs, different stages of the job are subcontracted out and the drywaller will not want to come back to patch.

it would screw up blower door testing-meaning fixing air leaks with drywall up isn't logical.

Painful to watch. Enough staples????Has to be a better way. I am a contractor this is nuts. Spun Glass....Done...Clean. Vapor barrier NEXT...and LITTLE MESS! sO in a nut shell. 3.6R per inch that means 2 x 4 will be R-13 vs I use R-15...WTF???????

Its a double stud wall, unfortunately they did not explain that so likely at least R40
