"It's a sunny day at ABC Dental, how can I help you? Yes, we take your insurance. Yes, we are accepting new patients. yawn Okay, yup, you can call back. Thank you."
"Hi. How can I help you today?..."
Now, how would you like to be greeted by somebody like that? I'm saying all the right things. I'm saying what's written in my manual I'm supposed to say to patients, but do you really believe it's a sunny day at ABC Dental? Do I really look happy to see you? Your nonverbal skills out speak your verbal skills, what you say is not as important as how you look. Patients can feel how happy you are to be there and if you're coming off bored, or not excited, or rude, patients are going to feel that. So, make sure that you're keeping in check your nonverbal communication, so that's in line with your verbal communication.
Show the patients you are excited to be there. Welcome them and make them feel like they chose the right dental office.
