Superior video. Had been curious about these services and you answered many questions. Love your videos. Keep up the good work, cuz I know that it can be time consuming. Appreciate all you do. We full time too, so your info is priceless.
So cool that you made a captivating report of us, Molar City! Los Algodones is also known as Molar City, the Dental Capital of the World. We have been guiding, for free, patients from the US and Canada for over 13 years. We provide with free scheduling on the top dental clinics, lodging assistance and transportation too! Feel free to contact us to collaborate! 😎🥳
I love your videos! It’s as though you are two of our close friends, just having conversations. Your relationship seems so similar to mine with my husband-something extremely rare. It always makes me smile with that familiar warm feeling. This video was especially wonderful because you went to Mexico. We have been vacationing there every year, two weeks at a time, for 15 years or so but haven’t been able to since the pandemic hit. I miss it so much my heart aches. The place, the people, the food, the whole atmosphere-every sense comes alive. There is so much to love about it. Seeing you there, talking to us as friends, meant far more than you know. Thank you for taking us along, even to a dental visit. 🥰
I love it that yall are nice to each other! You can tell that you have a great marriage with mutual respect and enjoy each other's company! So nice to see!!
I went 2 years ago to get 17 teeth pull and get dentures. I went 2 days. One day we waited in that line out for about an hour. The next day is the day I got my teeth pulled and the dentist told us to go to the front of the line they would let me go right way. That day the long was much shorter. If we would of gone to the back of line it would of be only about 10 minutes. Now I need to go back and get more work done. Thanks for the information.
Thank you for the great info about dental care in Mexico. I'm curious about the method of payment. Were you able to use a credit or debit card? A HSA (health savings account)? Love your channel, you always mix good info with fun!
I read where the border was closed to tourism. It's good to see that it's open for people wishing to have dental work done or to have their prescriptions filled. Thanks for the video.
I subscribe to 4 full timer RU-vidrs and each have recently wrapped up Quartzsite videos. Funny how all can be doing their RU-vid thing in the same area yet don't know one another exists. Thanks for the Mexico tips. You really stepped up and took one for the team eating lunch with a numb mouth and temporary crown without drooling!
Thank you so much for that video. It was Perfect in every way. I am planning to go get dental work and just doing a lil research. That was awesome, the scenery was everything. I took notes thank you again
This information is very helpful. We have never been to Mexico, but the more we see about it, the more we are considering it. It seems like it is safer than we originally thought. Lynn and Danny
Wow! A lot of photo bombers! That was funny when you were sitting at the restaurant. Great news about the Dentist office. That will be our destination this Fall. 👍
I WILL the next crossing ! 2 hour wait in traffic. Another 45 minutes while they emptied everything in the vehicle on to a table and went through it sock by sock.
Last time I was there, years before COVID, we waited 4 hours to get into Algodones and took just enough time to pick up his meds and get back in the long line to leave. After waiting that long, we did not take time to shop or eat.
I just broke a back tooth and the exam and xrays alone, in Arizona, was $260.. They then told me I needed a crown, which would be $1,800.. Instead, my friend referred me to Luis Medina in Algadones. I haven’t been able to go yet due to my work schedule but it looks like that’s who you went to. Small world and glad to now have a visual reference.
Renee said he remembers you ,said those are the people who blog for RU-vid LOL saidyoubothweresoawesome. Again thank you so very much for all the work that you do, giving us, in your community the heads up on things like this. My wife is at Arby Acres right now, waiting for me next week
Hi, I’m so happy to meet you. We’re looking to relocate to the area and this whole process is new to us! We also do not have dental insurance and need dental work. I was shocked to hear about the lady who had the very large fine. 😳 What happens if you’re having extensive work done and are prescribed a pain prescription? You aren’t allowed to fill it and bring it across? Or, if you divulge truthfully, is it then allowed? I have no idea of the rules but greatly appreciate you teaching us! My Father has serious periodontal disease and cancer. I’m not sure what the doctors will do for him but the fact that the resource is there just about makes me cry with joy. I hope it’s ok I asked? Take care and stay safe.
The ultrasonic cleaning is best..can clean deeper below the gumline. Floss everyday!! Your Dentist will not be happy because they can't get a new BMW off of you. 😆 Glasses are a deal in 🇲🇽 too. I have good vision coverage but can't get fully loaded glasses for $60.00. Safe travels 🙏
Yep I always declared what I am bringing with me over the border. I never had a problem. That woman’s decision to conceal her meds cost her big time. Follow their instructions and you’ll won’t get into trouble.
@@kingair350 I wondered the same thing. I have never heard of a fine in the US that was discounted by 90% if you paid on the spot. Discounted fines paid directly to the 'agent' is a scam that occurs all over the world in many forms. I would be pretty surprised if a US CBP officer would be involved in one(they are paid quite well). MX officials are another story. A vanlife YT channel has video of a MX customs official strong arming a discounted fine over some CBD products(that were actually legal in MX)
@@LyfUninterrupted So what I'm gathering about the fines is if you go get medical services there and it's prescribed to you down there it's okay to bring it back as long as you declare it. Yeah if you have a diagnosis and you don't see a doctor down there and they don't prescribe it down there and then you just go down and buy it and bring it back whether it be diabetes medication or anything else whatever is pharmaceutically controlled here then you would be in trouble correct?
Love the video. Love the fact you went to the dentist and it didn’t cost much. Very good til to go there. Nit too far of a drive at all from Yuma. It was funny with all the photo bombs. This was a great video. See you next week and stay safe and hope your teeth get better. Have a great week.
Better yet, try declaring it. You're allowed to bring a 90 day supply of medication back into the US, as long as it's not a controlled drug. The agents know all the tricks. If they determine that you put Mexican medication in a US prescription bottle, you'll find yourself in a world of trouble. Just declare it. Then the worst that can happen is that they confiscate it.
You need to come to Rockport, Texas! Awesome rv parks like Lagoons etc. Lots to do in and surrounding ares. You will love the beaches, fishing camping, shopping just so much fun to have.
Great video! Smart to walk over. Just watched a video of a couple that got the shakedown going over in a van. I was shocked when they headed on down Baja. You have to know where to cross for sure. They also were asked to erase their camera footage and someone told them to livestream next time...or at least say you did. And yes honesty is always the best policy~
You've got my exact hair style except for the colour. We must be sister's from different mothers - I too, always pick the line that takes the longest even if it has the fewest people in it. It's really disheartening to think that dental, medical, etc. prices in the USA and Canada are so much more expensive than for the same services in Mexico.
This was a great video for all of us. Answered many questions I had. Interesting in your experience in dental cleaning in the states. My hygienist always uses the ultrasonic water pick and only picks up the manual tools if needed (like your Mexico experience). I guess it all depends on the hygienist. Thanks for sharing this.
Costco probably would be about the same for glasses. But probably more choices there. Dentistry prices are amazing! Sanitation is way more than in the states!
Great content, pleasantly surprised the length they go to keep tourism open and as safe possible. The food looked absolutely great the drinks even better. Border disclosure is nothing to mess with your stay could be indefinitely prolonged. Thanks for sharing your adventures new to your channel here to stay.👍🍺🇺🇸
New subbie here. Could you please post the link to the video of crossing in Progresso from Texas? I'd love to settle a decades old disagreement with my better half! LOL
We may be doing this next winter. Great information and great video. We just purchased our TT mbrshp (used). We are currently in Harlingen, TX at our 2nd TT park after the snowstorm that stranded us in Ft Stockton for 3 days.
Interesting. We were there in March of 2021 for meds and booze, and not only did we not have to wear a mask anywhere, but they didn’t spray us or ask us to use sanitizer. There was only one person in front of us heading back.
Love your video . Speaking of drugs , was approached as I left dental office to buy oxycodone..which is really Fentanyl..be careful people. The drug dealers know u r leaving the dental office with pain and a fancy Motrin prescription, so you are vulnerable
Thank you for your video. I went to Mexico for the first time with dear hubby and I was a little nervous as I have never left the U.S. before. I watched your video and that helped to ease my nervousness. We had a nice experience as I am looking for a dentist. What was the name of the Mexican restaurant you went to?
We get a referral from someone then call the dentist office to make an appointment. Dr Luis Medina and his staff are great. 928-227-1040. Let them know Brian and Shawnna Johnson referrer you.
So what did you pay for your prescription glasses? And what amount of meds can you bring back? 3 mos, 6 mos? Another question- how is the health care working? Do you still like it?
Hi Ulrike! Shawnna's glass cost $250 which included exam, frames, lenses and polarization. Here's a link to information on the amout of medications you can cross the border with. help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1160?language=en_US
Hi Debbe! Going to a Dentist in Mexico might be a good option for you. We have no experience in that area, so perhaps give Dr. Medina's office a call for more information. The office number is 928-227-1040.
Yeah, that ultrasonic scaler is a No Bueno for me too. They can pick at me all day with the manual picks and I could nap right through it. The ultrasonic scaler is nothing but pain.
That’s incredible for dental work, and I have had prescription sun glasses for a while now and I can’t go without. So what was the drink you make with the tequila.? I just looks so warm!!!
Other than may be based on recommendations from others, with so many dentists & other doctors how does one go about deciding to which one to go? Are there websites, rating, & pricing information available somewhere?
I really enjoyed your video. Do you use American cash to buy the food, alcohol, and pay for the dental, a credit card, or use their money. Just curious. Thank you folks. Glad you're having fun. Not sure I'd like to deal with vendors all of the time.
Recognize everything been there quite a few times. You didn’t mention how many dentists they have there literally hundreds as well as optical stores. Not many people there like less than half what I’m used to. Pharmacy is really cheap. Have a friend who owns two lots with park models and rv sites with hookups east of Yuma. I would be there now except for covid home schooling grandchildren. Interesting they close the border that early normally 10pm but honestly they shut down most everything in town at 5pm. Need to get back to finish some dental work myself. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your selves.
Question is , do the dentists write pain medications prescriptions after extractions procedures etc etc? If so is the medication allowed back across? Dental procedures no pain meds not good..
Great info , do u have a family dr there . I have thyroid disease (Graves’ disease ) I was just wondering I keep the information for the dentist and eye dr
On January 12, 2021, CDC announced an Order requiring all air passengers arriving to the US from a foreign country to get tested no more than 3 days before their flight departs and to present the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19. Is this the same when crossing borders by land? Did they asked you?
I would be too unsure go to the Dentist in Mexico or any other 3rd world country. As a Texas Hygienist I've seen too many bad things happen to nice people. Teeth are precious and not easily or cheaply replaced. The squealy water pick is an Ultrasonic scaler and a quick cleaning is not always what it appears to be. Now tequila shopping?....Oh yeah!
Hey, great video. I am currently in Tucson and will be heading out in a few days. Can you tell me if you think it would be safe for a single woman? I would like to get some dental work completed but am not sure of the process. What is the name of the dentist you visited? I would really appreciate your help. Thanks 😊
Hi there. Thanks for reaching out about your concerns. Give Renee a call at Dr. Medina’s office. They are very good and honest. 928-227-1040. He will meet you at the border and escort you back when they are finished.
