Real ID will not get you back into the US. Five states (currently) offer Enhanced Drivers Licenses: Michigan, Minnesota, Vermont, New York and Washington. You can travel to Mexico without a passport if you have the Enhanced Drivers License. Info about Enhanced Drivers Licenses: www.dhs.gov/enhanced-drivers-licenses-what-are-they No guns are allowed into Mexico. If you bring your dog, you will need proof of current rabies vaccine and a current health certificate. Before you go, check with your phone plan to ensure your cell phone will work in Mexico. Try to arrive early and on a weekday to beat the crowds. The walk across the border is short. Bring with you your prescription bottles so the clerks can match them, a bottle of water --- and your passport. Also, you will need cash or credit cards. LOS ALGODONES (new Yuma Arizona) I parked in the US and walked across the border. From Interstate 8, take Exit 166 south. You will drive about 1.75 miles to the parking lot. The parking lot is easy to miss. Watch for the green “Last U Turn USA 900 Feet” and turn before that sign. Once you make the turn you will see you are in the QUECHAN PARKING LOT. You will need $6 cash to park, and maybe more if you are in a camper. The parking lot is big rig friendly, easy to get in and out. Of each of the 6 times I crossed NO ONE was in attendance on the Mexico side to check us. This means if you forget your passport you will not have an easy time getting back out! Los Algodones is supposed to be on Pacific Time (California Time) but the border shops all follow Yuma Time (Mountain Time). NOGALES (near Tucson) Take I-19 South to the Burger King on the US side, 47 N Sonoita Ave in Nogales AZ. Parking is just $5 all day. Walk through the $2 an hour lots across the street, cross the next street and then cross the border into Mexico.
Great video! I have been going to the same dentist in Los Algodones for more than a dozen years. Melina is very well educated, her English is great and she is very reasonable. We have become good friends over the years.
I've been to Los Algodones for dental work 5 times in the past 5 years and I've had great work as far as I can tell. Los Algodones is literally on the other side of the border wall and there are hundreds of dentists in about a 9 block area. The people making it sound scary don't understand how safe it is in that small area where the town relies on Americans being safe and getting great service. You don't have to go deeper into Mexico unless you want to experience it more fully. I think our dental work has saved about 2/3 and we've had a great road trip besides.
Well said, and my experience with dental in Los Algodones is pretty much as you state. I would NEVER go into Mexico beyond those few blocks of the border at Los Algodones, but felt perfectly safe in that little city. It really is a remarkable island in the mess of what organized crime has done to much of Mexico.
My grandparents wintered in Yuma in the 80’s and 90’s. They went to Los Algodones for all the things you mentioned as well as haircuts and nail salons. Different times now but everyone can make their own decisions.
I've been to Algodones many times beginning in 2019. My brother and I had a lot of dental work done. Saved many thousands of dollars. Better care than here in the US. Wonderful dentist. Dr Ruis. He is building a new office across from Hotel California. His wife is also a dentist and specializes in root canals. I was there in September '23. Food is great in Los Algodones too.
So close to 100,000 🎉 So much information for health care, thank you! I have used health services Internationally and feel very comfortable with the process! Love it as always! Many thanks 🙏
It might be time to take down this video. It looks like you are losing credibility with many of your subscribers. You keep saying how safe it is where you go in Mexico and to disregard what is being shown on the media. If someone takes your advise and has a bad experience, or even worse gets hurt, is it worth it? This insistence on everything in Mexico being safe and good may be your experience, but as things heat up with Obrador making incendiary statements, that could change any moment.
Hi Laura. Yes, the media has certainly scared people into thinking an entire country is unsafe. That is simply not the case. I'm glad I could share my personal experience, and then people can make their own decisions.
@@denacollins352 Hold it. The people who were shot were in a notorious cartel border town - Matamoros. Right by Brownsville. Extremely dangerous area. Not only that, they DROVE into Mexico, something I would never do even when it was safer. One of the ladies was going for plastic surgery, not exactly medically necessary. Still, it is tragic they were apparently caught in crossfire between two rivals. The dentists and pharmacies she is referring to are in Nogales, Mexico. Yuma is apparently the same but I can’t speak to that firsthand. They are literally a 30 to 60 second walk from the gate. The dentists are excellent, American trained with modern, spotless offices. No one I know who goes there has had a problem with the exception of one lady who said she got an infection from an implant. In the US an implant starts at around $6K. I’ve had 3 implants done in Nogales costing me about $1,800 each. I walk straight to the dental office and after straight back to the CBP gate to return to US. It’s a real shame the Mexican government doesn’t take care of the cartels once and for all. The US military could, but the vapid clown in the WhiteHouse, does not care. I doubt Mexico even WANTS to do it because they are probably getting kickbacks from the cartels who bring tons and tons of fentanyl into our country.
If you don't have a passport, you can use your driver's license and a birth certificate. *even though Homeland Security says otherwise on their website. It is a fact that a US citizen cannot be denied entry into the US. This would be for land crossings. Not by air.
With all do respect, you are brave not to say crazy, I will not go to Mexico for anything. The state department doesn’t recommend to go to Mexico neither.
There are some Mexican states that are under a Do Not Travel. I am glad that I could make this video to share my experience. As I'm sure you know, one incident does not make an entire country unsafe. Thanks for watching.
@@LizAmazing keep that comment you just made in mind as you continue to bring up one incident you witnessed in LA. Not ALL of CA is like what you witnessed in Los Angeles. But bottom line Liz Mexico is not safe anymore and it's not worth going there to get a bargain. If anything goes wrong anything, you will wish you would have listened to the majority of your viewers. Why even chance it, to save a few bucks! Be smart, be safe.
With all that is going on now, I would not consider going into Mexico. Liz- did you make this video before the latest violence towards American tourists across the border. Stay safe if you venture back into Mexico.
Hi Sammie. Yes. I made it before the incident. However one incident does not make an entire country unsafe. The towns I visited on the Mexican border cater to Americans and are safer than many American cities. Thanks for your comment, and for watching.
Some friends of ours that live in Quartzsite drove into Algondones and had ammo in their truck. They were arrested. Long story short they had a hard time getting out of jail. Basically they had to pay some people off
Yikes. Yeah, you definitely can't bring guns. Also you need special insurance to drive into Mexico. Much better to walk across. Thanks for watching, Tom!
A friend and I went to Tiajuana one night. Two prostitutes tried to pick us up in a bar but we refused. Later, cops came into the bar and arrested my friend for stealing from one of the women (totally not true). It cost $1,000 in cash payments made behind the police station to get him out of jail. That was years ago and I haven't been to a border town since.
Great video. If you’re going just for the eyes, you’re better off staying in the US. You can pay $79 for an eye exam just about anywhere and use your prescription online to get whatever you want for usually around $100. It’s just not worth the risk these days. Sorry to disagree with you, however that’s how I feel..
That's exactly why I made this video. Many people think the entire country of Mexico isn't safe. Heck, I'd rather be in either of the two cities I talked about versus Los Angeles. Thanks for watching, Harry.
Exactly! Last time I went to Los Angeles there were two homeless men fighting in the street. One was chasing the other with a chain. I felt more comfortable in Mexico! Thanks for your comment, Tom!
The US has imported a lot of Mexico's (and other countries) people and problems in the last 2 years What 800,000 people the first year, another 2 million last year alone? Crime is getting endlessly worse too. Homelessness near me went for unnoticeable to now having 4-5 homeless people in our main grocery center any given time. These are not families on hard times. These are 20-40 year old's that look like they crossed the border within in the last year. Los Angeles is ridiculous. Lines of tents and RV's parked all over
Braver than me. I can kinda pass for Mexican, although I was born in Chicago, my mother is Mexican and is unable to speak English. As such, from a childhood, I had to learn Spanish. I also have family in Mexico. With such, I will not travel to Mexico. When my mom migrated to the United States, she came with a friend, who also migrated. Her friend travels to Mexico. Last year, when returning, she passed thru Mexican customs, then had to pass through US customs. When they checked her car, someone, using a strong magnet, stuck a package with what I'll call "unlicensed pharmaceuticals" and an Apple Airtag under her car. Two of my cousins got pinched by U.S. ICE and were sent back to Mexico. Cops there shook down my cousins, who obviously had nothing, and detained them while contemplating what charges they could come up with while they call someone (me) to wire them some cash. Many of the cops there, are not like cops in the U.S. In America, most police go through an academy and learn the basics of constitutional rights. They might ignore them from time to time, but at least US cops are taught. Many cops in Mexico are not police, they're soldiers. Instead of being taught to respect the constitutional rights of people, they're taught how to aim, to switch the safety selector from "Safe" over to "Rock-N-Roll", then squeeze. Don't get me wrong, I miss Mexico, I have many memories from when I was younger, but I'm not going back.
I would never go into Mexico beyond a place like Los Algodones, where I've been for dental work. Deeper than that, or most any other border city or town, no way I'd go.
I'm Shocked too! I will never go to Mexico for dental ever again I had a nightmare experience And in this world we live in now you have to be crazy to go to Mexico.
I actually chickened out after phase one of a root canal in Mexico. The whole thing was going to be $300. Instead I went to Vegas to get the job finished. That cost $3000. And then the dentist couldn't stop talking about how impressed he was by the work done in Mexico! Next time I won't chicken out. And thanks for watching.
Thanks liz, i will go to Mexico for dental and eye care. Thanks for the very helpful video. Looking forward to more videos. I will let you know how my Mexican experience went.
@@LizAmazing in the title of this video you are asking your followers IF it is safe to travel to Mexico for medical, dental the majority of us are answering your question you asked us and you do not like our answer if it doesn't line up with what you think and you continue to compare your experience that you witnessed in LA (which is not one if the safest places in CA) with Mexico. Hey Liz, Glad to see you moving forward. I am happy for you. Funny, the first upgrade to my new 5th wheel was to find your vid from last year and used the link to buy a Signature Hybrid full size queen. Thanks for the discount...and as always, Safe travels.
A friend and I did so. She needed dental care. The work done on her was perfect, cost her almost nothing. Female dentist a Harvard grad. However, I found crossing the border very scary, along with the entire area.
We love visiting Mexico and have never felt unsafe. It’s like anywhere else, you have to be careful wherever you go. My brother just spent two weeks there for some dental implants.
Hi, Liz I hate to say this but as a matter of fact I just got new glasses today frames, lenses, and no line bifocals at Success Vision in Manhattan, KS for $124.00. I went across the street to a place to have them half tinted and it was only $25.00.
Nice video Liz. I’ve been to Columbus area(south of Deming,NM) very quiet area and much smaller and less facilities available.it’s so sad what is happening to the lovely Mexican country.
Los Algodones and Sani Dental have been my solution for full mouth dental reconstruction. After estimates from dentists in Chandler and Scottsdale Arizona ran $50K to $55K. Compare to $14K to $18K (depending on final choices) at Sani Dental including the hotel stays. My implant work and temporary acrylic teeth were done in March 2024. I was surprised at the speed and precision, it was very different from experiences in the USA (a lifetime of dental history after childhood car wreck). I go back in late September-October for the final teeth to be fitted to my implants. Some points to consider: 1. GUNS & AMMO! ILLEGAL DRUGS! Before packing luggage (gym bag, shoulder bag, handbags, etc etc ETC!), empty it out. Unzip every pocket or closure. Shake them out, visually inspect inside with a flashlight. Even a single stray piece of ammunition can get you arrested in Mexico. Same advice goes for your coats, jackets, anything with a pocket. Take no weapons and VERIFY you don't have something that you forgot or escaped your notice. The Mexico point of entry for Los Algodones was undergoing construction and upgrades when I was there, every car and all luggage was being searched for everyone entering, 100% including on foot. Take this seriously, don't just think you know what you've got in your bags! 2. On your return do not think for one moment you can conceal anything you are bringing back. There are always limits on what you can bring back and Customs inspectors are adept at spotting deception. If caught in a lie, if caught trying to conceal, the criminal or civil penalties are infinitely worse than the import tax or confiscation on a declared item. 3. For dental do your research online first. If the work is major, plan a visit for evaluating more than one dental practice, and they you. I had dental records and x-rays from several years before and emailed these to three dental practices. After initial email and phone contacts made, I made a trip just to be evaluated and get estimates from three offices that looked good in my online research. I paid for the exams and imaging at each one ($150 to $180). Possibly some dental practices will offer free or discounted exams and imaging to prospective patients, I didn't bother with that. Two of them had either free hotel stays or deep discounts offered. 4. Sidewalks in Los Algodones are uneven and constantly changing as you walk along. One shop may have tiled the old concrete in front of them while the very next one has something completely different to walk on. Not a problem for most folks, but for the elderly or impaired it can be an issue. So pay attention. 5. Tip Jars, you will see tip jars in all sorts of businesses. Don't be cheap, these folks earn very, very little compared to most visitors. That includes pharmacies and little convenience stores, you will see tip jars. Put some money in them, needn't be a lot, there's no rules or standard amounts. I made a point of taking along all my loose change (not the pennies) and plenty of $1 bills. 6. The wait to cross back into the USA can be, often is, quite long. If you are on foot plan to use a bathroom before setting out for the crossing. Plan on the weather, the line to walk back into the USA has shade structures but for all my crossings, I spent at least a half hour in the sun before reaching the shaded sidewalk. Take water to drink. I also had a compact travel umbrella in my suitcase (a carry-on size, wheeled, typical sort). My longest wait in line was 2 hours.
Thanks Liz, I was just there in January, I got 2 fillings for about 1/3 of what I would pay in the US. Simply Dental is a really good dental choice in Los Algodones.
Live in San Diego, use to go to Mexico all the time, but no more. Too many safety concerns, too many Americans kidnapped and or killed by drug cartels lately. It may be better if you speak fluent Spanish. But to me personally not worth the risk at this time. US State Department warning issued yesterday about problems.
Yes indeed! Many people are sitting at home thinking the recent news means an entire country is unsafe. This is simply not true. But I guess people in Australia hear about one of our many mass shootings and think all of US in unsafe. I am glad I can share my personal experience to hopefully provide balance. Thanks for watching.
1. The symbol for US dollar is a letter U with a superimposed letter S, but through the years, since the beginning of the USA, the dollar symbol and been written and printed as two vertical lines with a superimposed letter S. 2. The symbol for peso is the letter S with a superimposed vertical line.
I don't think I would never go to Mexico for any health or dental procedure plus I have insurance and get my teeth cleaned 2x a year for free do RVs not have health insurance?
I have lived in San Diego for decades, and all the stories I hear of people getting killed /or robbed down there, I haven't been there in a long time and I'm not going soon.
@CeeJayKay Los Algadones is very different from San Diego border. I have been to both and do not feel safe going thru San Diego but felt much safer crossing in Los Algadones.
That's exactly why I made this video. Last time I went to Los Angeles there were two men fighting in the street. In the daytime. One was chasing the other with a chain. I felt totally comfortable in Los Algodones and in Nogales. Thanks for watching.

Kind of irresponsible at the most and tone deaf at the least with 4 American medical tourists kidnapped and 2 killed this week in Mexico. The state department says it isn’t safe.
There are some Mexican states that are under a Do Not Travel. I am glad that I could make this video to share my experience. As I'm sure you know, one incident does not make an entire country unsafe. Thanks for watching.
No way would I go-prescription drugs in the USA are regulated, so that each pill has the same amount of active drug as every other pill, but you cannot say the same for those you get in other countries. There are times, when saving money is good, but other times to maybe use caution and common sense.
Yes. Definitely do what's right for you. I saw two research papers verifying the efficacy of Mexican medications, so that made me feel better. Thanks for watching.
Be careful Liz it’s not safe in Mexico . You don’t know what there using in those doctors offices. I would never go there . As always love your videos but Mexico is not for me . ❤❤❤

In the uk somebody went to turkey for7000£ of implants and crowns which in the uk would cost £20,000 And was told by the dentist in the uk that they wouldnot work on that stuff if there was a problem….
“Somebody?” Sounds like you heard a rumor. I have never been asked by a new dentist “where did you get this work done? Never, they just want to do the work and take my money. Not like your mouth has a stamp that says work done by cheaper country on it.
@@suezq9155 i read it in the daily mirror….its probably what her dentist told her..but as you say its probably sour grapes from her regular dentist as it would stop him buying an extra house that week..going to a new dentist he would be none the wiser.. I have actually gone to Los Gadones for dental work and then I have gone to a dentist here in CA. They surely didn’t ask me about who did prior dental work. All they want to know is what is wrong and here is the bill.

Me, too! Last time I was in downtown Los Angeles two homeless men were fighting in the street. One chased the other with a big chain. I felt totally comfortable crossing into Mexico.
Liz, I love Mexico and have been there 3x just this winter. I have a guy that I text when I need service. He gets my appointments for me and is even willing to meet me at the border to walk me over. I didn’t need that because I always feel safe. Everyone is friendly and I get treated so nicely. I am served coffee while waiting and my exam was way more thorough than I’ve had in the states. The news media loves to instill fear in us. People buy into it and it keeps them from enjoying life. It is sad, really.

I find it morally wrong and exceedingly stupid for "Liz amazing" to advise anyone that "Mexico" is a safe place!! America has issued many warnings to it's citizens "not to go". For her to blithely post this video one day after the murder of two American citizens is unconscionable!! As someone who subscribes and enjoys her videos I am appalled with this post!! To endorse "any" part of Mexico is safe is beyond stupid!! So far "Liz amazing" has been lucky.....one step past where she should be and she could have been hurt or killed!! "Liz amazing" has overstepped her boundaries....even the most informed among our political advisors cannot guarantee if a particular Mexican city is safe!! If you truly believe that "Liz amazing" a 'RU-vidr' knows more than our government does and you decide to visit Mexico because of her endorsement and god forbid the worst should occur do not expect any help or sympathy from America rather make damn sure to place the blame on yourself and the advice from "Liz amazing"!! I cannot help but think of the "Darwin" awards....this award is usually given posthumously after a person by their "actions" cause their own deaths and in my personal opinion going to Mexico knowing the warnings is just such an action!!
This is exactly why I posted the video. The news has sensationalize an incident near the Texas border. And now some people think the entire country of Mexico is unsafe. I am happy to share my experience and hope it helps calm people down. Thanks for watching. The town so I talked about are safe.m and there is no warning about about travel to them.
@@LizAmazing I took down my comment about the Mexican government warning tourists......I went back to try to find it and was unable to do so I must have misheard (I wear hearing aids) and I think it was another warning from our government issued for spring breakers..... I apologize for the mistake and I will be much more careful in the future. I still strongly disagree with you stating certain cities in Mexico are safe for tourists, even the President of Mexico cannot guarantee that! That is why I objected so much to your video. There is more news (verified via media) that three women entered Mexico from a Texas border town about three weeks ago to try to earn money and they are now missing! I can only pray they find them in good health.
@ Susan Carlton , well said. When I first saw this video, I couldn’t believe someone would recommend going to a Third World Country for medical care. @@georgecloss7352 Many other RV RU-vidr's have made videos like this. Liz had the unforeseen timing to put this video up right after a killing. Blatant killings and abductions like this occur every 2-3 weeks, most are never released to the public or make the news.
FYI The mattress I had in my 1995 holiday rambler navigator was the best sleeping I’ve ever had. I actually had a beater 1990 Flair with a great mattress. My current mattress in my outfit will either need a topper or a dumpster.
Yeah, isn't it funny how the older the motorhome the better the amenities? They just put junk mattresses in the new RVs now. Thanks for watching and hope you get a new mattress soon.
Actually I’m going to try a honeycomb or a crate topper. That is what is on my sleep number bed in my residence and was actually on the 1990 Flair bed.

I think this episode is a huge mistake. Resent activities have proven that Mexico is not safe and you are not qualified to post this as being ok for people to do. It’s been shown that often the drugs are expired or not of the same makeup of the prescription you are to take. Drug companies sell goof ups overseas for Pennie’s just to dispose of them and there are a lot of counterfeits.. I trust my pharmacy, my dentist and my eye prescription. I just ordered 2 pair of eyeglasses yesterday for just a little over $100 and they are guaranteed. I don’t know how easy it is to deal with problems, especially since you don’t live there. If I have problems with dental work I can immediately get it fixed at no cost. Retired Americans are easy pickings especially since Mexican police probably won’t be any help.
Thanks Neda. I'm so glad to share my firsthand experience. I think a lot of people sit down and watch the news and think ALL of Mexico is unsafe. Like anything, do your own research. But these border towns are full of American tourists. Thanks for watching.
Hi Liz I wish I could say hear in Montana that's it's warming up, LoL it's another snow storm blowing in, but this is Montana the weather can change quickly, by Tuesday 53 , can't wait! Love the videos hope you stay safe out there Beautiful!
Liz, I believe that there are safer places in Mexico,-you could conceivably be safer there than in parts of the U.S! ❤ However, FYI, I just saw this and wanted to share it.: “Texas authorities warned residents against travel to Mexico for spring break after recent kidnappings and grisly murders. “Drug cartel violence and other criminal activity represent a significant safety threat to anyone who crosses into Mexico right now,” Steven McCraw, the director of the Texas Department of Public Safety said. “Right now it is too dangerous with the increase in violence and kidnappings that are taking place in Mexico,” Olivarez told Fox News. “I can’t stress enough to those that are thinking about traveling to Mexico, especially for spring breakers … to avoid those areas as much as possible.”
Yep, you definitely have to make your own decisions. Elsewhere on this page someone wrote the crime rates in Houston make it more dangerous than Mexico. Wow. Thanks for watching.
I definitely wouldn't go for any drug, optical or dental in Mexico unless absolutely necessary. Like driving a bigger truck than a small sedan. It's more expensive sure, but I'm way safer and if I get in an accident and have expensive medical bills. For eyes, I get tested in the US and use the given prescription and order glasses online. WAY cheaper than in their office. More choices too. GoodRX for any meds.
Today I went to Los Algodones to get my teeth cleaned for the first time. I felt very safe there. Much more safe than I felt in Tijuana years ago. I would not hesitate to go back. Note: go early in the day and cross back into the US before noon. I came back at 10:30 and a line had already formed at the border. It's a slow line. Other people said the line gets really long in the afternoon.
I know folks that had bad experiences with dental work done. I am not sold on the idea. Their prescription mfg is not regulated and do not always work. You can get exactly what you pay for.
Boy I would have to research it before I took off for Mexico to have dental work done. I suppose a simple cleaning is one thing but our dentists do x-rays and check for gum disease etc. And if something goes wrong, is it another trip to Mexico? Do they stand behind their work? I would be hesitant.
I've been nothing but impressed by the level of care I've received in Mexico. And I have three close friends who have had more serious dental work done in Mexico, all pleased with the outcome. Thanks for watching.
My friend and I crossed the border into Mexico, from So. California. She got excellent dental care for a very low cost We both stocked up on med's. However, I must disagree about buying antibiotics. It's absolutely critical for testing to be done to determine what infection is present, in order to know which antibiotic is needed. The U.S. has an extremely serious problem with antibiotic resistance, due to the doctor's careless prescribing of them, and people self diagnosing, buying and taking them willy-nilly. A note of interest: I lived in Norway for years. And antibiotics are virtually impossible to get. During my years there, I was given no antibiotics even when very sick. My understanding is that doctors there believe the body heals itself if left alone to do so.
I was in Algadones the other day, we have a small car and usually drive in and use the public parking lot in town for $2 (must have mex. insurance though) Got my teeth cleaned for $25 last year a root canal for $300. Bought two pair of glasses frames and single lens for $50 each. Meds are so much cheaper than even using my insurance here in the states. The food is great and very safe as long as you go in the day time. Note most business close at around 3 pm in the after noon so it is best to go real early.
Mexico, mmmm. In the words of Remo Gaggi, from the film Goodfellas. Look why take a chance, at least that’s the way I feel about it. Good Morning America, hire Liz Amazing, she’s amazing..
Yes. You have to make the right choice for you. I just wanted to share my personal experience to bring balance to what people are seeing on the news. Thanks for watching.
Hi liz...we at one time went to Mexico alot...but things have gotten to dangerous...I would be afraid of what you get in the medicine with the way fentanyl is being laced with so much today...besides our daughter was attacked by 2 illegal Hondurans in January 2021 ...stab 3 times.. all most died because of this open border situation..we have no love for this stupid Administration....no mam...you can keep Mexico...stay safe...J&A
Oh my! So sorry about your daughter. Definitely do your own research. I am more comfortable in the two towns in this video than some US cities, that's for sure. Also, I've read several research papers with good news about the safety of prescription drugs purchased in Mexico. Thanks for watching and be safe as well.
Republicans talk tough and do nothing. Democrats pretend the border is safer than ever. I've no love for either party. Just the same, I found Los Algodones to be an exception. It is a remarkable place for the safe access to low cost dental care. Its very existence depends on Americans and Canadians being safe to come and spend their money. Nobody knows if there is any sort of protection money being paid to the cartels, but it is so profitable that Mexican locals get dental care cheaper than Americans pay. Sometimes, it is free to locals. What I'm getting at is there is a heck of a lot of financial pressure in place to keep the little town safe for foreign visitors.
When you come back with your prescriptions, does customs ask you specifically what medications you got? I can see some folks bringing back a lot of meds, especially if your allowed 1 years worth
Hi Carmon! I did shoot this before the incident. But now there are a lot of people sitting at home thinking an entire country is unsafe and that's not the case. Definitely make the decision that's right for you. I am glad I could provide some balance by sharing my personal experience. Thanks for watching.
Another great video Liz. As a Texan who lives relatively close to the Mexican border, both your destinations look 5-Star when compared with our border towns. What used to be safe and fun is a thing-of-the-past. Church groups used to regularly travel to cross over. My wife would return (along with dozens of other women) loaded down with pots, dresses, trinkets, etc. and felt 100% safe. Sadly, that's no longer the case here. Many winter Texans still cross over for dental/meds/glasses but are much more cautious. For those who do go over, the savings you mention are very real. Good luck on your journey towards 100,000!
1:59 I understand people buying Amoxicillin for "just in case situations" but I don't think it's a good idea for a couple of reasons. 1-Overuse and indiscriminate use of antibiotics contributes to the antibiotic resistance problem. 2-Amoxicillin has it's place in medicine but it may cloud an issue by partially and ineffectively treating a bacterial infection. A medical provider has the expertise to use the right antibiotic for a given infection. For example, treating a dental infection with Amox may just keep the infection smoldering whereas a better antibiotic will knock it out completely. 3-Often a culture and sensitivity will be done to determine which antibiotic is best for an infection. You can't get a C&S unless you see a provider.
That's exactly why I made this video. So many people think that it's not safe. Last time I went to Los Angeles two men were fighting in the street. One chased the other with a chain. I felt safe where I went in Mexico and I'm glad I could share.
I shot this before the incident. And I see how the news is trying to scare people into thinking an entire country is not safe. That is simply not the case. I am glad I can share my own experience to hopefully provide balance. Thanks for watching.
Great info but Mexico is not for me. I’ll pay the extra to not have to worry about looking over my shoulder. Besides I’m still pretty attached to my kidneys! 😉
@@LizAmazing boy that’s the truth! Pretty scary out there. When we plan our yearly trips looking for campgrounds, bike trails, wineries and sights to see we also look at each area’s crime rate. We have actually altered some of our plans several times. We went to the Seattle KOA a few years ago not know the crime in that particular area. You knew it was not good because the KOA there had people patrolling the park 24 hours a day! We did stay there with no problems but it was an eye opener. Safe travels Liz!
I've been to Mexico 3 times but never again. I worked with a guy who's friend went to Mexico along the coast. Him and his wife went to a restaurant with friends. Men pulled up with guns, corralled all the men from the restaurant and drove off with them. Took about 3-5 minutes. The men were found dead days later along the road with signs of torture. No thanks, never going there again for any reason.
That's how I feel about downtown LA. Last time I went there two homeless people were fighting in the street (in the daytime) with one chasing after the other with a chain. I felt totally safe crossing into Mexico each time.
Had family who are border patrol there tell us "not worth the risk". Also had a friend who just recently had dental work done there. Great work, and cheap price is what they said...
Yep, I've heard so many good experiences from people. The border towns I talk about in the video are designed to serve the American tourists. I'm glad I could share my experience to provide balance to the news which is trying to scare people. That's I guess what the news is always trying to do! Thanks for watching.
@@LizAmazingreading some comnents, i think you cannot be disrespectful of the laws any more than you can here, and i think you did not go bar hopping. That is a whole different sociology.
Hi Ed! I shot the video before the incident. But now a lot of people are sitting at home thinking an entire country is unsafe. That is simply not the case. Definitely do what's right for you. I am glad I could share my personal experience to hopefully provide some balance. As always, thanks for being here!
Yeah, right. I'm not even going to watch. I'll just state my experience. My mom went to mexico for dental work. The "dentist" horribly over prescribed an antibiotic which put her in the hospital in Arizona and she was expected to die. The family rushed to AZ. She later finally recovered some but it caused her to get Clostridioides difficile infection, c diff. She suffered terribly with this for 2 years and never really recovered. Dental or any medical in mexico, NO THANKS !!
Oh wow. So sorry she had a bad experience. I guess nothing is 100% positive. Three years ago I started phase one of a root canal in Mexico. The total bill was going to be $300. But then I chickened out with completing it. I paid $3000 to get it done in the US. And the US dentist said the Mexican one did an impressive job. Wish I hadn't chickened out after all. Glad your mom is ok and thanks for watching.
I haven't been there but I can wholeheartedly recommend the two cities I talked about. Definitely do what's right for you. Thanks for your comment, and for watching.
That's why I made this video, Teresa. Some people think the entire country of Mexico is unsafe. I'm hopeful that by sharing my experience, people can calm down.
