The most complete guide for international dentist to practice in US as dentist. If you question is how to become a dentist in USA, I have the answer for you!
My name is Dr. Leo Koerich, and I had one dream: practice dentistry in US. I have been in your position before, I was a foreign dentist and I wanted to be a dentist in USA and had no clue about how to start the process.
After several years of research, I started to understand how to become a foreign trained dentist in USA and the different ways for foreign dentist, like me, to move and practice in USA. I did the international dentist program myself, but you could also have done a dental residency, AEGD GPR, have a limited license or even be a professor. Whatever pathway you decide, Dental Academy USA is here to help!
During the pandemic, I put a series of lecture for my fellow Brazilian dentists, many of them are here on RU-vid at no cost. However, they are in Portuguese. This lecture is the first one in English, where I try to help people that need guidance on their path to get their dental license.
If practice dentistry in USA after BDS is a dream to you, I can assure you are at the right place! Please join me to practice in US as a dentist!

Hello Dr. Leo, what states allow the specialties, and what accept the certificates? Is it true that if you graduate as an specialist you just can work the specialty?

You would have to look up online for the states. About the graduation, it is not clear, however, I know a few people who graduate with a specialty but received an unrestricted license. I think it depends on the state.

Oi dr Leonardo.
@DentalAcademyUSA
@DentalAcademyUSA Год назад

Great Video! What about the green card holders who chose to study abroad and go back to US? Are there any dental schools that the US Universities do not accept for Advanced Standing program?
@DentalAcademyUSA
@DentalAcademyUSA Месяц назад
That is a great question and a possible option for some people. In fact, I have a few people in my own course that did it. There are several dental school in the US, however, not all of them accept students for the Advanced Standing program. Therefore, to go on the shorter route, you would have to apply to a school that has an AS program.

Hi Doc, Thanks for the video! If we apply for the Limited license in MA, they sponsor the working visa H1b? I heard it is difficult to find a clinic that sponsor the visa. I currently applied the IDP this year cycle but got rejected and I don't know what to do. Some said, I can try to apply dental faculty in MA, instead of limited license because if I apply for the faculty, they provide a visa whereas limited license does not.. Please let me know if there are other info that I do not know. Thank you!

Faculty is always a good option. I cannot provide information about the places sponsoring Visas, as I don't know about this. I only heard about one person that had a visa sponsored, it was about 10 years ago and I don't have details. I would review your application to try to understand the reasons why there was no call for interviews. Best of luck!
