You gotta use real strong floss AND water floss. Because the water doesn’t get everything. The food stuck between your teeth doesn’t always come out with the water flosser. And the water flossed rinses out what the string missed. I water floss, floss, water floss again then brush.

Ok Bentist serious question here, can you develop a pick that works for those of us whose orthodontists stuck us with the permanent bar on the back of our bottom teeth. I have to use a threader as it is.

Hi Bentist I had braces when I was 10 for 7 months with an expander then when I was 12 got phase two braces with a herbust got them off after 18 months. Then 4 months later my permanent retainer broke on the bottom which moved my teeth and bite now I have top and bottom braces again with bands. They didn’t give me a clear removable retainer on the bottom is that normal is it my fault that it broke (I don’t eat Candy and sticky foods) and look after my teeth really well and I didn’t have a retainer to wear or is it technically my orthodontist fault for not giving my a retainer for the bottom. And is it normal to have permanent retainer top and bottom and a clear top retainer to wear at night and not the bottom. Hope you reply

I don't know if you'll see this, or reply to it, but im in dire need of help. I started taking a medication 7 years ago that caused my teeth to rapidly decay and become brittle. I have several cavities and 3 teeth broken off at the gum line, including a bottom wisdom tooth. Im off that medication for 1 year now and my teeth seemed to have stopped breaking, but they're in bad shape now, obviously. I don't know what to do. It's going to cost a fortune to get them fixed, and im broke and without dental insurance. Id like to take the necessary steps to repair and protect my teeth, but I have no idea where to begin, or even who I need to see. I could really use some professional advice. Im sorry I'm basically asking for free help, but I'm so lost right now. Any information or insight you could provide would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks either way. God bless.

Doc, (If you’re a broke bitch like me-this may be of interest!) Is there any type of whitening strips/home treatment that you can recommend that won’t cause sensitivity? I tried crest white strips about 20 years ago when they first came out and I remember my teeth were throbbing for days -so much so that I am afraid to even try “today’s version “😂 of Crest’s or really any other type of whitening strips. Back when I wasn’t a broke bitch I did have a laser whitening treatment in the office and I got custom trays and gel to use at home…. Even THIS treatment made little difference (I was told a long time ago by my dentist that I have very hard to whiten teeth it’s genetics. I know not much you can do. ) now that I’ve said that out loud that $700 laser treatment did not work-I feel SO stupid even asking if I would have any success with whitening strips !🤦‍♀️Oh well😂🤷🏼‍♀️anyway I see that some brands they’re made now with coconut oil and anre more “natural-ish,” and I was thinking maybe they might be different. If there’s anything you can recommend, I’d be very grateful
