My mother moved me and my younger siblings to Denton so she could attend TWU and we've remained here till this very day. My children are born and rasied here. What a beautiful place to raise a family!
Oh and don't forget to mention the homeless encampments all around denton especially under the three eighty - thirty five bridge, There's nothing more pleasant than starting your day When you're taking your children to school and seeing a homeless encampment parked by the school bus pick up and drop off! I mean who doesn't enjoy that every day, And if it was just where people could get services, that would be one thing, but it's not, it's on the city streets.It's on the streets in the neighborhoods, As homeowners, we have tried to talk to the police.Talk to the city council and they both just keep pointing fingers back and forth, It's a great place for the homeless, But you have to be very careful Where you Choose to buy your home. A really great place to live.We've been here 45 years.But things are changing and buyer beware
Great video!! Grew up there and was just back visiting the family. Great place to live and raise a family. Good schools and lots of places to go out to eat. The parks are nice and there is Lake Ray Roberts north of town if you want to get out onto the water. The water park out Sherman Drive is a great place to take kids in the summer. I grew up in the area north of University drive and east of Sherman drive which is an established neighborhood (called Idiots Hill - speculation that it was named after all the professors living there) with two story and ranch homes and also a lot of trees and larger lots. Some of the new development has smaller lots with no trees - which is a weird phenomenon as trees bring so much joy! The square is an awesome area to go out, grab a coffee or meander through Recycled Books on the Square. Also, East Side has a cool outdoor space where you can get a beer and something from one of the food trucks. Overall, Denton has charm and character - and art & music... it has everything within driving distance to the Mavs games!
Denton is a great place if you’re into getting your catalytic converter stolen, putting Tajin on everything, getting trafficked, meeting homeless people, littering, or substance abuse.
It has changed, And unfortunately for families with children.There are some big problems here with the Violence within the school system school system and the Overall street crime that happens here now
@@masseydidehbani9401 That's so sad. It used to be so safe to just walk around anywhere in town. There wasn't even "a bad part of town" you needed to stay away from.

When I was a kid in Richardson, crickets where EVERYWHERE in the summer, you could hear them crunch under your car tires. Crickets are like locusts, every few years they swarm if you live near an agricultural area.
