Hi Michelle, I have some questions I just went to the dentist today to see about getting full extractions. Medical will cover it along with dentures. I am extremely nervous and scared. I asked them about IV sedation. I said I know medical will not cover that. The X-ray show that I need bone graft on the bottom because there's not enough bone the bottom denture will rock. I understand that I I can't afford a bone graft. The IV sedation they're going to charge $4,000. I don't know what else to do is there any other options because I need to be put to sleep.
You can explain to your dentist you are really nervous and he could prescribe you a few anxiety medications to take the day of extraction. Also, they numb you up so much so won't feel a thing. I HATED the dentist and the numbing was the worst part. If you ask them to put the medication in slowly, it will immediately start to numb so you won't even feel that part. Being nervous is ok but I promise once you get your smile back and feel confident again, it makes it all worth it. It's really not that bad and absolutely worth it. Good luck!!!
The dentists just throw you to the wolves once they have been paid for the dentures, even if they don't fit right. I feel like gagging almost everytime I eat now. I am so limited to what I can it, it just breaks my heart that I can't enjoy food anymore. I have lost 15 lbs in 6 months since getting dentures because I now hate to eat. It's sickening what the medical communities have become. Corruption and abuse everywhere. Its all about money for them, not health. Ugh....
The dentist were taught to make the dentures. Not care about the patient. That's sad. You aren't alone in how you are feeling. 90 percent of people feel the same as you do. That's just sad.
