For those who are saying that Wilder was schooled in this sparring You should consider that, unlike his opponent, Wilder had to carry the weight of the shirt in the ring
"...For those who are saying that Wilder was schooled in this sparring..." Learning to stop punches with the face is a greeat skill Wilder has developed.
Love how real this feels. Even the music in the background. It's never something super flashy or intimidating; just background music as in any given training day in a boxing gym.
Wilder was carefully crafting his inability to jab even back then. That’s real dedication guys.. working for nearly a decade on not jabbing, so that he could reach the pinnacle of no-jab fighting against Tyson fury
Whilst wilder definitely isn't known for his skill, his jab set up almost every right he landed. And most of his knockouts were set up by a jab (1-2) so you really don't know what your talking about Edit: and yes he lost to fury but still managed to put him down too and no I'm not a wilder fan either
@@MrEuroDollaz LOOOOL sure buddy 😂. To understand what a heavyweight jab looks like, go watch Larry Holmes or Foreman. Holmes probably landed more jabs in 1 fight than Wilder did his entire career. The complete neglect of jab development, and over-reliance on the right bomb that the average fighters he beat couldn't get out of the way of, culminated in him getting beat 3 times but the only world class boxer he ever fought.
What was he supposed to do knock him out ??? It’s called sparring for a reason. If he would have slept him people would say wilder slept a kid who was a Olympic lmao
😂😂😂 you know what. I spar with people sometimes in my gym MMA. And there’s a couple guys. They got there hands down. And pointing at there chin to hit them. Acting all cool. And I jab them. Not hard cause I’m not a dick. But keep landing shots lightly. And not getting hit. And this one guys egging me on. And I’m thinking. Well I’m landing mate. What else 😂😂
@@jimmybaldwin737 Heavyweight champion who has the 4th longest title defence streak in HW history vs a 19 year old with 0 wins vs any top 30 heavyweight (2022) and people actually think Wilder got beat? Its light sparring
@@kb-tm2hm he did get touched a lot. Doesn't change the fact that it Wilder unleashed that right with bad intentions once the croatian would be no more.
Mike Tyson was World Champion at 20 yr old, he was the undisputed World champion at 21 yr old, THATS amazing. Being a 19 yr old amateur sparring a guy who has only been boxing 6 years, is not.
It’s a spar not a fight if u can’t tell wilder is holding back immensely and tired from probably training and sparring a lot before that than it’s either hating or delusion
@@mikesmith4987 hahaha and that was exactly what adam booth was telling em and then showed him how to prevent it, which he immediately failed to do hahahahaha
I always said from the first time I watch wilder fight he doesn’t have good boxing skills. He’s lacking in the basic fundamentals of boxing, he relies on landing a knockout punch and nothing else. For that reason I always said Joshua would beat him and I still stand by that assessment. He would do a lot better if he learns how to really box.
Okay then what make you think that Wilder lacks on his boxing skills remember when he first won the title he outbox the outbox Tavern he didn't even knock him out he just out boxden a lot of you guys is not really looking at the real footwork that he does everything he does in training he really doesn't do in the rain but it actually shows he really have skills if you really look at what he's doing he will beat Joshua easy hands down why you think all the negotiation went bad between Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua Anthony Joshua won't even beat Tyson Fury just look who really beat Anthony Joshua and whine all the titles and you really stand by that dude you don't know boxing you really need to study boxing bro I feel Joshua give antirouille a third fight he will never win Joshua actually holding nose belt by the Thane of the threads that's the reason why he always fighting drug addicts and old guys my take on that
@@sanfordmurphy261 Dude, stop it. He lacks boxing skill. Has some, but not enough. Very little. Fundamentals are all off. And yes, he does rely on his power too much. He did the one thing boxers shouldn't do, he fell in love with the knockout. He defense is atrocious. If his sole purpose in that sparring session was to get conditioned to take right hands and stiff jabs....then mission accomplished. Only thing is, next time it won't be any head gear.
He'd bang joshua, but he doesn't have the best jab ,backfoot boxing etc.the guys that have power always think they can k.o everyone, it proves to be Thier ,gift and curse.
Followed Boxing for like 30 Years boy to man and this is great sparring footage between Deontay Wilder and Filip Hrgovic, who was 19 Years Old at the time and Not even a Professional Boxer... I think Hrgovic had just competed in recent times at the 2012 Olympics Games, which were held in London... Watching Deontay spar in the footage, you can definitely see a number of key things, which Won him the World Heavyweight Title against a fighter who was big, tough game and durable at the time in 2016(Bermane Stiverne), but who was never fully World Class and certainly not an Elite Boxer, as further history has since provided evidence to support... This evidence also shows just how and why, when a Match Fit Tyson Fury faced Deontay Wilder in February 2020 in Las Vegas, USA, he beat Deontay so comfortably and even forced the Stoppage, which was a major surprise to me and especially the Bookies... Answer, when observing the footage, Filip Hrgovic at 19 Years old, is a more rounded, naturally gifted Heavyweight Boxer with stronger fundamentals than Deontay Wilder was at that stage of his Professional Boxing Career... Everything Deontay does involves him setting up a massive Right Hand, which is from the Gods by the way, but the sparring shows Deontay has very little head movement, gets hit way too much, struggles to Box well when going backwards, as his balance looks kinda clumsy and finds distance control with his footwork hard to establish... Anybody watching this would surely have placed bets on Tyson Fury by Stoppage in Rounds 7 - 10, even as a cover bet, as his odds on the night were 50/1 across each of those Rounds, for that method of victory pre bout... I guess you just had to be convinced by Tyson Fury's pre bout statements of intent... I strongly wonder whether he, or someone in his team had seen this footage... 🤔🧐👏🥊👊💯👍You can definitely see the threat that Filip Hrgovic now poses to the Heavyweight Division too... He was excellent in his teens, when fighting and Boxing in the major Amateur competitions, but he his also now excelling as a Professional and he his also slowly moving towards the top of the food chain within the current Heavyweight Division now... I personally would like to see Hrgovic fight either of Michael Hunter, Sergey Kuzmin, or Kuzmin's most recent opponent, Martin Bakole, who Michael Hunter has previously beaten by the way, as this next step would be an excellent test of Filip Hrgovic and his World class potential credentials 💯🤔🥊👊👍 Make it happen, time for Filip to either progress further up the ladder to the pot of Gold, or at least get to know his level and potential ceiling in the Sport 🥊🥊Other fighters who Team Sauerland should be looking to match Filip against are Charles Martin, Gerald Washington or Michael Polite Coffie, as fights against these 3 would also have a similar affect to the previous 3 mentioned, but the later 3 would introduce Filip further to the American audience 👊👊
@@Horvatinjo1983 Fair play, I wasn't aware that Hrgovic and Michael Hunter had signed to fight, but a fight between the pair would be an excellent clash and Michael Hunter would be receiving a fantastic opportunity from taking the fight too... I rate both Heavyweight Boxers extremely highly and consider both as serious Contenders for an eventual shot at a World Title... I think Hrgovic would beat Hunter due to his natural Heavyweight attributes, height, reach, size, power, amateur experience, confidence, slightly higher natural ability... But I also think that Hunter would give Hrgovic an excellent run for his money... 🤔🧐🤑💯👊🥊👍
Everybody in the comments recognizes that wilders technics are not that good, thats nothing new, how would the situation be in a real fight, I think wilder would knock him out in the six although he lost the rounds before
@@korallrev3497 not completelly true. Pulev from Bulgaria got 2 title shots thougout his career. There were Croatian condentors in the past. Also guys from Africa made it. So it's a matter of time and proper management. Hopefully he get's noticed by a proper manager
That shit talking would be cool if Wilder then came back with a great attack at the end.. but nope... he just talked crap while getting his socks boxed off lol
@@cam2xx688 exactly. Dude can box but NO DOUBT the man that drops 250+ lb men with one shot could’ve badly hurt this kid if he really hit him like he has everyone else. Props to the kid for representing himself well in the session but it’s just sparring like you said.
that's wilders forte though i guess, he takes a drubbing, loses all rounds, then manages to land his equalizing right hand.. horrible strategy though.. didn't work against fury.
Before you talk bad about wilder just consider his headgear weighed him down during the sparring session and the other guy had loaded gloves ..so unfair
This was like 10 years ago. Filip is now a full-grown man in his late 20s I guess... damn some of these ignorant fans who know nothing about the sport or the heart it takes to put yourself in front of a punch are so quick to throw insults at Deontay. The man has gone from this to wining a world title, knocking out some of the best in the game in devastating fashion. One loss doesn't change all of that cuz he's still a legend in the sport. It's actually really true that those who criticize you the most are always below you.
Bro the sport hella rigged for Americans and English tho. Look at Usyk. If an American boxed like him he would have gotten two titles shots atleast by now. If Hrgovic was American he would have been made world champ after they handpicked his opponents. Its all marketing. Wilder has pure power but he has no chance against a technical fighter...
@@alcottdevalte7440 I was watching riddick bowe fighting some guy, you know who the undercard was? Roy Jones vs Bernard Hopkins !!!!!!!! That’s how boxing main events should be!!!! @@thomaswiggins6668 You're absolutely right. It was on the undercard of Bowe vs Jesse Ferguson... Back in the days, people could name all top 10-15 fighters in every division, and they all could have a good chance at any night depending on how dominant the champ was. They were used to fighting the best at all times even though it's prize fighting. But in this era, you get a much more comfortable journey where you fight once or twice a year and it's extremely rare if the opponents are good... Having too many belts and weight classes has ruined it as well along with the promoters being too greedy. It's simple; people would pay a lot to watch the best fight the best...
Ikr. Bro I'm laughing so hard at the music they are playing. I feel like getting beat up to whitney houston is extra jarring. My gf plays music that is pretty much just as lame when I'm training as well. Like hailee steinfeld and stuff like that lol.
@@YouAintGotNoTegridyBoi By today's standards he is okay, but overall, not really. He is in his prime, but has only had 12 fights against pretty trash competition, and now he is fighting for the right to fight for the title.
@@YouAintGotNoTegridyBoi yeah this guy doesn’t know boxing . Hrgovic is a very good boxer Olympic medalist , currently ranked top 10 and fighting top 10 Michael Hunter soon. He’s a prospect in his 20s in a division where men last into mid to late 30s
Also niticedevery time the kid hit flush, Wilder would suddenly start encouraging the kid in a intimidation bluff to mask the bit of fog the punch imparted.
It’s funny how many pro boxers are in the comment section. ❌Sparring is not about knocking each other out ✅Its about putting work and learning with each other not trying to kill each other. ✅Sparring team mate not an enemy so why should they try to beat each other up? ❌when Adrian broner beat his sparring partners up, people talk shit to go easy ✅what I’ve learned is people just like to talk shit when them nobody sitting behind there phones🤡
Yeah, and George Foreman and Mike Tyson and Sonny Liston and Joe Frazier and so on wouldn’t be that great either without their power... oh wait, it’s fucking HW boxing and power is a big deal (this is all sarcastic... the guys I listed above are obviously ATGs). And while we’re at it, if Ali wasn’t as fast or didn’t have such good footwork he wouldn’t be that great. If Fury and Joshua and the Klirschko brothers weren’t so tall they wouldn’t be that great... see? You can do that and say that about anything. If Michael Jordan couldn’t jump ridiculously high and far and fly through the air he wouldn’t be that great
@@kirklandau2826 my point is that power is his only ability. Pit that aside he has zero boxing ability. Them guys could box regardless of power. And never shade Ali he had it all

Why did you capitalize the letter G in “songs”? And why did you quote that particular line? Perhaps because it means something different than what the average casual listener might typically assume it means?
Those overhand right hand shots to Wilder's head from a proper HW like AJ/Ruiz/Whyte will send him to sleep. Wilder's defence is poor as we saw against Fury.
This was Hayes camp and sparring partners for the fury fight and it was rumoured that wilder knocked haye out in sparring, leading him to call off the fury fight.
Big up Adam booth for the MOITEE ANDY LEE tee. Good bit of footage . Wilder got found out the minute he left America , bean can boy still had a great career, hope he puts in a good set vs zang
Can't believe Thiers so many people on here dissing, dnt you know that sparring is different to being in a real pro fight ,if you think deonty was trying 10 out of 10 you need to learn about the sport ,if a man that's levels above is gonna help a prospect, he's not gonna knock chunks out of him, think about it ,wilder can knock fury down twice, but couldn't knock this guy down ,cause they were sparring, and he's holding back.😂 Or he would've thrown loads of looping rights.
Hes just working in not get hit wt da right hand too much. But he cant find da answer. U can throw da jab out of u hips but cant to return it down and he is doing that mistake. In da half of da first round he found a way to block da right hand extending da left hand. He apply a decent defense. But ofcourse he need to let da guy throw so he can work. In sparring one take da chance to learn and fix da bad habits. It was a good sparring for him I think
