I can taste more than feel This burning inside is so real I can almost lay my hands upon The warm glow that lingers on Moved, lifted higher Moved, my soul's on fire Moved, by a higher love I surrender all control To the desire that consumes me whole And leads me by the hand to infinity That lies in wait at the heart of me Moved, lifted higher Moved, my soul's on fire Moved, by a higher love Heaven bound on the wings of love There's so much that you can rise above Moved, lifted higher Moved, moved, by a higher love By a higher love I surrender heart and soul Sacrificed to a higher goal Moved, moved by a higher love By a higher love
Hmm, I don`t know... as much as I miss Alan, I alsol like this version. But then again, I love that DM always try to approach their material differently in every tour.
Well we all know that Martin wrote all of DM's songs. Or at least most of them that i know about i dont want hell if he didnt write ALL of them but yah. hes the talent.
Not to give you hell, but along the way Alan wrote a couple songs, as of Angel Dave has written some too. But, I still agree Martin is my one and only.
I don't dislike it, but even when it has good things I prefer the Devotional version by far. I think this song was made for Dave's voice. About the drums: totally overexploited here, but I enjoyed it.
This is great. Sure maybe it doesn’t reach the heights that they did during their peak years. But what band does when they get older. I’ve also noticed a couple people in the comments say “but this is Dave’s song.” It’s really not, since Martin wrote the song. You can argue that it sounds better with Dave singing. But it’s hard to call it “Dave’s song” when he had nothing to do with the songs creation
I'm just happy it's not a piano only version. That drives me crazy. If Martin is going to sing the songs Dave sings on the albums, no problem, but please do the proper version with all the synths and landscapes. He's doing Strangelove on this current tour - do the full Strangelove!
A Depeche Mode without Dave and Alan: a boring one, without the tension, the soul and carnality. Just writing songs isn't enough, one have to be able to present them in a interesting and convincing manner.
I like me this version but the arrangements no much and i prefer the Original version with that rock/pop symphonic but more dark and the celestial voices in all song
The drums are WAY overdone in this version. Compare this to the live version they did way back in the 90's (Songs of faith and devotion live) and you know what I mean. And I miss Dave here, it's HIS song. I love DM (and Duran Duran) both went through a lot through the years 😢
