Thanks so much for this! I was there and have nothing from the day, except for my stub and program...so great to be able to relive it again! 🙏🏽🙌🏽🎉 RIP Fletch, we miss you! ❤
I'm 52 & STILL IN LOVE with Dave's gorgeous tattoo on his back😏. I know I had 1 picture of just his back piece taped to my computer for like a decade. 58 & still sexy with the salt & pepper hair. So relieved he cleaned up beautifully over 25+++ yrs ago
I’m sure I’m not the only one when I say that this line up of songs are some of their best..and they involved Alan Wilder. They had a sound that was unmistakable form anyone else and I will always love this band..no matter what. They’re the soundtrack to my life. They were certainly at their best with Alan on board and that’s why they will keep performing these songs as we all love them. They are losing their ‘electronic’ sound that they were so famous for and maybe that’s their evolution but I prefer how they used to be. I’m sure that their newer fans prefer their new sound and maybe some don’t like their back catalogue? But judging by the audiences I’ve seen, they’re loving how they used to be xx
@Brock Smoltz Black celebration, Music for the masses, Violator, Sofad, is where the base of Depeche mode is located, from where the legend arose, coincidentally it was the era of Wilder, only Ultra without Alan was a good album. From then on I have only heard a couple of good "demos" of Martin, like Precious or Where's the revolution.
I was there!!! It was AMAZING!!! Stood there for several bands so I could get close to the stage (shout out to Franz Ferdinand who went on before them and killed it). It was worth it! If you have been to a DM show you know what I'm talking about when I say it's a spiritual experience.
I too was there. They didn't include the very beginning of the show when they really tested the sound of the 360 degree disco ball mega speaker. What a good time to be alive!
Yes, Franz was awesome indeed! I need to see them again if I can...had a feeling this wasn't the full set as Martin's hat is missing...I wanted to steal it from him lol, still do...😛
I was at this show. My wallet got stolen. I felt the hand go in my pocket. Some slippery dude somehow ran through the big crowd. Once DP hit the stage I forgot about wallet. Once the crowd departed my girlfriends little sister somehow found it about 30 feet from the right of the stage where we were at.
Martin's two single eyelid raises starting at 37:10 and his cute-ass little smile at the end during Shake the Disease are among the greatest moments in my live music history. I am happily convincing myself it was in response to my cheers, which I can hear in this video. ;) I almost can't believe I was there. It was surreal. There was a massive piano brought on stage for this performance. Hearing this version of Shake the Disease still gives me chills and makes me feel dreamy. They did it in Monterey as well shortly after Coachella, and for a long time that was the only video I could find of it.
Exactly, it totally destroys the whole atmosphere of DM's music, not to mention that many of them don't need all this mess he makes, especially in that I Feel You intro ... Miss Alan!
This is not their best set I have sort of a hard time believing Dave is sober here lol not to be rude or anything, he's a big sloppy goomba in this show
