By watching all the videos and documentaries I think I have an idea of what I missed. I was watching this entire live at the Rose Bowl the other day and I was honestly so jealous of all the people who were there experiencing this memorable moment of their career. Even if without Alan and now even Andy sadly, I hope they'll still do some concerts.
I was at this show and can tell you the energy was incredible. For a band that hadn't even broken yet onto the Top 40 Pop charts, you could feel that this was a moment and things were about to change. Sadly, many older fans were flippant to the newer fans for not being there since the 1981, as if this belonged to them and no one else, and most recent devotees were "poseurs". Thankfully the band was welcoming to all of their fans, and it was obvious they were firing on all cylinders and pushing themselves hard.
I was a exotic dancer in the '80s and at this one bar I danced with this Duo and they did a set with this song. It was a very amazing. You young people men boys whatever don't know what you're missing we had live exotic dancers in every bar practically all across Canada, boy did we have fun!
I was a 15 years old teenage boy. I was confused,i felt in love with Dave. He was my crush. I found out i'm gay. Now its 2021 and i still in love with him. Love never dies.
about a year ago my dad who grew up with depeche mode through the 80s and 90s recently gave me all of his old records he had by them and this was one of them. So glad I have this great concert on vinyl cause of him
They were good, I have not been to one since (I saw them on World Violation tour and nothing could ever top that experience, the sun going down while "Waiting for the Night" was being performed, holy shit)
i have a feeling Sin by Nine Inch Nails is really inspired by this song. damn, this makes me wanna get a time machine back to the 80s to see DM in their prime 💟
Kinda surprised to see Fletch wearing leather pants considering he didn't wear leather pants as often as Dave, Martin and Alan did back in the late 1980's.
You're a young fan so ^^ I'm too, less than you (I was born the year before this one) but I understand what you feel. I saw their two last concerts and I regret that I was born too late to see the rest of their carreer :-)
Cela me rappelle Paris. Car leurs pubs me gavent. J.adoorrree quand j.eecoutte DÉPÊCHE MODE
Whaou j.adore ton commentaire. On partait à plusieurs voitures. Pour de la new bien sûr. Superbe époque. Salut. 😉👍🤜🤛👥🫂
i like how much depeche mode has changed their sound over the years i mean like 5 years after this they were doing rock music and 2 years after they were already blending it in their stuff because i think music for the masses put them on borderline mainstream and then violator broke them into the public eye which is what i heard caused dave to start using drugs to the inability to cope with all the new found fame that uk they had fame before but violator was huge!
That's strange, I have the 101 dvd (the one with commentaries from the band members) and it does include M&S. It's the very first song, actually. They put it before Pimpf and everything else... Are you sure maybe you didn't just skip through it? ;)
You know, I think I had actually read somewhere that some dvd sets for 101 were supposed to have extra tracks on them. Looks like you might have put a finger on which those were... It's too bad not every set has them. The very first live concert I got was Live In Milan, and recently I bought Devotional. But I got to say 101 remains number 1 for me.:)
ABBA, ,David Bowie, Bryan Ferry, Supermax, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, usw.
Did Dave reallly sang totally live? Why his voice is always so silent when he screams "yeah", "commoon" or something other extraordinary? It seems that even vocal parts came from tape.
I think it's just the way that it is mixed. Some of the vocals may be doubled on the tape but you can tell that at least three of them are really singing.
