Depeche Mode - Secret to the End - Full Demo with Dave's vocal from Delta Machine album. I do not, cannot and will not try to make profit from these videos. If you want me to delete this video - please let me know.
I thought this was a new song from the band. I must confess that I hardly remember any song from "Delta Machine". And when I listening to the album version of this song I understand why. The demo is much better then the album version. Didnt the guys in the band react when they were listening to the end result? "Eeeeh! What the f--k did you do to our song?"
This two versions - demo and album- it's like two different views on the same love story. Romantic and pragmatic. Some one turns this bittersweet song in to а rough manifest
i didn't think id ever hear it in full! delta machine has incredible demos. if the final version sounded like this, i think the album would be much more loved by fans.
It's a really good song and I do prefer it to the original one, but there is a bit too much going on. Hillier should have kept it basically the same, the drum pad it's a bit too loud and could have a couple of things cleaned out and added maybe added a couple of things that would have fitted better. Toward the end of the song, it needed to be a bit longer and added something.
You think THIS is better than the album version? I mean if you only like something around Some Great Reward time period from 80-s, then maybe that will fit somewhere in there. But then you are hardly a Depeche Mode fan. Like I really liked Nightwish songs before Turunen left, and the rest sounds like crap to me, and that means I'm not a Nightwish fan by any means. Just so "Alan Wilder era" fans, who camping in all comment sections whining how they miss him and everything after him sounds like shit in their opinion, and all their lives are now dedicated to inform us about this.
If you me, then with A.V. DM's albums were hits, but without them - 10-15 songs. You see, we don’t consider it complete šudas. And, I repeat, the number of hits from good songs can also be increased. This is not just my opinion. And imagine, all these people do not attend DM’s concerts, and this is income. You can object to me, like, they are not fools taking this into account. Ok, I'm aware...
I agree with you, this is much more interesting and it’s actually a decent song but the lightweight & woeful production (imo) on the album has left it a relatively forgettable entry in the band’s catalogue.
Man, Ben Hillier really fucked this masterpiece up… a lot of the demos for Delta Machine were better than the final product but regardless, THANK YOU FOR THIS GEM 💎🙏🏻
@@thevanger101 My brother, In some other perfect realm Alan Wilder is still with DM and they are rocking the fuck out of these songs HAHA. That’s what I tell myself 😂
@@chrish7614 Most definitely! I am just ecstatic that these demos were released! It would be great to hear the demos from Violator and SOFAD before I leave this earth though! 😁🙏🏻🤞🏻
TBH id look forward to an album produced with just Martin behind the boards with some help with Dave's production partners from Hourglass ( Christian Eigner and Andrew Philpott )
It's very good, but it needs some tweaks. The drum pad is a bit loud and a bit cluttered. But yeah, a very good demo. I still like the original though.
Merci 👍 💜
Blemba... There is a song and a song in the album.🤷 I'm ready to catch stones and build a house...😉 No joke, a little bit of his magic 🎹🥁 and from this demo - the song💎
@@mjg1544 While James Ford is no Flood or Alan Wilder at least he's not as bad as Hillier . Memento Mori has pretty decent production . To be fair we have not heard any demos from that album .
@@mjg1544 Well as far as remixes go most of them are crap anyway as the band themselves no longer do any and the people they get to do them just mess up the song beyond recognition . Some B-sides would have been nice though . I guess maybe this is all the songs they had written .
This is absolutely mind-blowing! How does the final version sound way more like a demo than the actual demo? This version (with maybe a few polishes) should have made the final cut. It contains everything awesome about Depeche Mode. Really shows how much production matters.
All thats mine Demo is single level Song. Happens All The Time demo IS best ballad since Home. Im starting to think that rivalry inside band and that Hillier ruined Daves songs
The chorus here is very weak, but otherwise this is much better than the final version. Classic Depeche sound (I even feel a "spanish taster" mood in it).
Thanks you for finding this but why did you have to add "Subscribe here" music after the song. No one will use this video in their music playlists because of that.
why is the final version worse exactly? oh yeah you're not getting your *MINDLESS ENTERTAINMENT STREAK* are ya? you want to do something you can listen to EASILY or something? is that version too INTENSE for you to handle?
Delta Machine is the only DM album I never listen to and I have tried many times to revisit. IMHO, it’s their worst album. I remember laughing hysterically when I heard, ‘Soothe My Soul’. 😂 It’s like someone tried to write a DM song after listening to their greatest hits lol
This could have been the new "Walking in My Shoes" with the right production. The album version is horrible, one of their worst songs in my opinion. How did they land on adding the "coulda been you" part from this demo?! I despair...
Yes indeed. The songwriting is there, but their arrangements have been abominable. This era of the band really highlights the importance of He Whose Name Shall Not Be Spoken.
@@thirdlantern reluctantly agree. I am of the opinion that I'm just glad they're still around and making music/touring. But they really did lose something when Alan left. That being said, "My Cosmos..." is the best thing they've done in ages imo.
These demos are amazing, so DM, the studio versions are horrible....apparently their "evolution" in their last 4 albums have gone backwards, more market oriented,,,,sad
