@@CreeplessOfficial because the song is so delicate due to the dynamic of the arrangement, the string section gives power in certain moments making the song breath throughout the different moments, now with the drum every part sounds the same, it sounds aggressive (for no reason) therefore it ends up sounding flat. That’s why in my non requested opinion the drummer crashed the soul of the song, he ruined it.
I bought a Ticket to DM Concert in Copenhagen 2023. Last time I was to DM Concert was in 1986 Black Celebration Tour. Almost 40 Years ago! I still listen to DM. Their Music is the Music of My Life. Rest in Peace Andrew Fletcher.
At the age of 14, I heard this song for the first time while watching a DM Devotioal concert on a video cassette. It changed everything, my whole view of the world. Today I am 42 years old and D🌹M's music flows in my heart.
To prawdziwy frontman. Dave Gahan to zwierzę sceniczne.
My son inherited a Gretsch Tennessee from his grandfather who was in a band in the 60s. He can barely play but we just had it restored. Would love for him to play just one DM song on it one day
Just superb. Dave mentioned, it’s a band favourite hence their performance of this classic in BBC’s piano room which was simply sublime. Gores chords always have an ethereal quality, never less evident in this masterpiece. They’re on another planet.
Indeed so. When I heard the album version I was blown away. And, then they added to it. There are enough ideas, themes and riffs in this version to create an entire album for most contemporary artists.
@@averilloanthony7527 You are a proud Brit for what Depeche Mode have achieved. I think their music and art has zero to do with nationalities and patriotism. Well, at least that's how I see it... 🤷🏼
It’s actually even more than that; it’s a band that gets better live, with more energy, more analogue, more zest. DM became a better live than album band from SoFaD and this has been true since then. Many of their later album tracks lack punch, but when played live, their touring band turn them into danceable, full-throttle rock music that suits the stage so very well. Looking forward to seeing them live this year!
Are you kidding? Still selling out every venue around the world for 40 years and the most devoted fan base I've ever seen. There's a reason why even their old music is absolutely everywhere right now.
Perhaps in the UK (and Australia), but not really anywhere else, I think. Martin called them "the biggest alternative band in the world" in an interview and I think he might be right. They should have quit after Ultra, however, in my opinion.
Martin is playing with an EBOW!!! I've never heard one used and liked it, till now!! The song is so awesome, but, I love small , interesting pieces of gear, so yeah, I think that is the most thrilling thing !!
Hm. Are music and sound two different things? In pop music they are both part of the complete work, I think. Isn‘t every piece of music just a small segment of the infinite realm of sound?
I would tell you about the things they put me through The pain I've been subjected to But the Lord himself would blush The countless feasts laid at my feet Forbidden fruits for me to eat But I think your pulse would start to rush Now I'm not looking for absolution Forgiveness for the things I do But before you come to any conclusions Try walking in my shoes Try walking in my shoes You'll stumble in my footsteps Keep the same appointments I kept If you try walking in my shoes If you try walking in my shoes Morality would frown upon Decency look down upon The scapegoat fate's made of me But I promise now, my judge and jurors My intentions couldn't have been purer My case is easy to see I'm not looking for a clearer conscience Peace of mind after what I've been through And before we talk of any repentance Try walking in my shoes Try walking in my shoes You'll stumble in my footsteps Keep the same appointments I kept If you try walking in my shoes If you try walking in my shoes Try walking in my shoes Now I'm not looking for absolution Forgiveness for the things I do But before you come to any conclusions Try walking in my shoes Try walking in my shoes You'll stumble in my footsteps Keep the same appointments I kept If you try walking in my shoes You'll stumble in my footsteps Keep the same appointments I kept If you try walking in my shoes Try walking in my shoes If you try walking in my shoes Try walking in my shoes
Simply an awesome version of this song. Truly gives it inertia and energy the original version does not have. I like the original version, but this one I just can't stop listening to.
@@thomasedmundrichards he is not in the right place and with the right band, drumming sounds so alternative don't keep the vibe of the original track, the original snare was very important and gave a great harmony, this one sounds bland
@@plutostube I hear what you’re saying, however I think the feel is deliberate, as you can hear in the way they sing the chorus, it’s without the more vibey melody and rather approaching it in a similar way that the drums are played, more edgy & less sustain. I actually quite liked this take, as it’s got more drive to it:). Don’t get me wrong the original was awesome, but this version is different, just different. Besides, Alan Wilder was the G on the drums for this song & I don’t want anyone to replace him, so rather do something different:).
DM always had the ability to compose epic songs that touch our heart. Making use of technology but not limited to it, able to replicate it alive, and combining tech with soulful lyrics.
Dayum, haven’t listened to this song in a long time , just gave me chill & goosebumps , just sounds better every time I listen to it , uuuuffffffffffff ❤
To start....this song is a masterpiece and I love it. After repeatedly listening to different versions I have to say I enjoy BBC Orchestra version the best.... It's just perfection
