Depop vs Poshmark | Which App Is Better for Selling Clothes 

how do you find the hidden gems with their alogrithm + the common descriptions sellers use

bigbadcow basically I go on safari or google(whatever web browser you have lol) and type in what you want +poshmark or Mercari and it shows you way more options than what is on the app:)

Honestly I find it really difficult to calculate so I always go to my PayPal receipts and see exactly how much the PayPal fee was for the sale and then deduct that from my profits!

@@AlyciaThrifts so maybe for an estimate I will calculate 3% from now on 🤦🏻‍♀️ bc I already forgot it was 2.9% and so I’m loosing more now ugh. That’s really smart. It’s really bad bc I have over 100 sales now and I haven’t even calculated my profits from the first one 😭

Yea I would highly recommend going back and calculating your profits! Even if you don't do it by item I'm pretty sure you can download your sales per month on PayPal and then deduct any shipping and item costs!

Yes that is Poshmark Canada's fee! That is really interesting that it's slightly different in the US! Do you know what percentage they take for anything above $15 in the US, I'm curious to know if it's different than Poshmark Canada. Glad the video was helpful! :)

That is the same 20%. Now level 1 shipping label is $7.11. It is hard to sell $5, 8 and 10 items.

If I have a prepaid shipping label I will go to my closest Canada Post box which is usually located around plazas and convenience stores. Regular mailboxes don't have a big enough slot! Otherwise I'll just take it to the post office and they take care of it 😊

I’m pretty sure the post office has like this thing where u can drop packages in and they ship your package to what address is in the shipping label

I feel like Poshmark has good seller protection in the way that they make it really simple and easy to do everything, there isn't much room for error! But they definitely give the buyer the upper hand in the way that they don't deposit your funds until the buyer approves / accepts your package. I haven't run into any issues yet so it's hard for me to fully know!

I list most of my items on both apps! It's pretty unlikely that they would be purchased at the same time. You just have to remember to remove them from the other app if one of them sells!

Alycia Thrifts do you mention in your bio that you sell on other apps too? Also do you have the customer message you first before buying ??

I don't think it's necessary to mention it in your bio. And the customer doesn't have to message first but they usually do!

So the shipping is separate and it's just what the buyer will pay, it does not affect your listing price. So if you list it at $26 you just have to pay the 20% which would end up earning you $20.80!

Yea I have a hard time selling on Poshmark too! I usually get more sales on depop!

Y’all crazy I did 3k on posh mark back when I was flipping clothes. Depop was mad slow.

It's hard to say which one is better but Poshmark is definitely easier!

I guess it's their way of getting you involved in their community. I'm not a fan. It makes everything feel forced/ fake

I find it really depends on the item! Name brands do well on Poshmark and trendy/vintage clothing does well on depop!
