hey, i recommend putting baking paper over the flat iron surface just so you can just grab the paper when you take the pans off after melting, that way the mess gets on the paper too. love the vid!
this is, and I am not even kidding, one of me most satisfying videos I've ever seen. It tingles my organized mind so ggod I could watch it for hours. Thanks for sharing and also thanks for taking the time of preparing everything so perfectly for your clients
Thanks for the tip! I used to use the Vueset palettes for lipstick at one point in time! I just ended up switching to the AKC ones just because they’re easier to clean out if need be. I never knew that about the Vueset though!
also can you update either on here or instagram at some point to let us know how you like the box 1.0? I’ve been contemplating stepping away from the tackle box as well.
I LOVE the clips!! So useful! I like working with the box 1.0 so far. The only thing that’s wrong is that I can’t seem to position them in a way I can lift ip the lids easily. I may just have to rearrange things though!
Pineapple 🍍 You're such an inspiration to me, Julie! I'm an Esthetician student, graduating in March and bridal makeup is where I want to be! I'm starting one-on-one classes with an instructor (former MAC artist) from school in February and I couldn't be more excited!! Best to you!!!
The only thing am actually allergic to is pineapples but I will send u a tone of it cause i'm so freakin addicted to kit related videos... so don't worry it's not long enough i could do few more hours watching you condensing, organising and working on your kit.. absolutely love your work girl.. keep rocking gorgeous 🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍
Actually quite a few ppl are allergic to pineapples! My vice is raspberries lol I’m glad you enjoyed the video!! Thanks so much for staying till the end :)
😂 to be honest no I didn’t but I ended up relabeling the whole thing like a month or so later so it was only like that for a month. 😂 too funny! I was SOOOO over condensing at this point so no wonder I skipped over that.
@@julieruby recently been downsizing my makeup for convience and customization found couple of pans at online stores for now alcahol a clean fabric (spares or sample duplicates i sew alot) and hand press them extras go back in its orig pans . The compact palettes available is diy with the help of magnetic adhesive cant waste a good one unless they are made of paper
@@julieruby i love the video and its fun to watch you do it(not the suffring part) also the towls that were damage can be washed if theres stains then its use can be for depotting 😅😄
Thank you for watching I really appreciate it! Repressing isn’t for everyone I get it 😂 i don’t do it all the time because of the amount of effort it takes. I’m glad you enjoyed the video :)
I'm new to your channel and honesly I'm obsessed aha 🍍 I'm currently trying to build a portfolio at 6 months pregnant to become a MUA and work from home, I love makeup and can't wait to get better at it, ps I inspire to be you one day! Your absolutely amazing in what you do🍍 my current mua bag contains revolution maybiline rimmel and elf, do you think they are good to start with? Sorry this comment is so long xx
Hi I’m so glad you stumbled across my channel :) That’s amazing that you are trying to build your MUA career and at 6 months is impressive! It’s definitely not a negative thing at all to start off with more affordable products. Nobody has it in their budget normally to start with all high end things as it is pretty expensive! I even still have drugstore stuff in my kit. If it works it works :)
I wonder if you used a wax warmer instead of the straightener if it would be better, use parchment paper and maybe tweezers to pick up the hot containers. :3 This video was so helpful for me!
Haha I decided to not even do the lipstick melting anymore! It was too much of a hassle the first time and I refill them so often it’s almost not worth it.
I do the metal spoon over a candle method then pour to get smooth tops to my lipstick palette, it’s still a messy job though lol . I also borrowed my mums hostess hot plate 😂 like a giant straightener I deposited multiple palettes at once but I did destroy a few charlotte tilbury ones in the process RIP😅
Thanks for the suggestion! As for the lipsticks, I'm totally just going to be scooping them out like I used to (WAY easier haha). That's smart to use a hot plate! I don't have one, but definitely need to upgrade the straightener lol.
Pineapple 🍍 yay!!! Does the eye liner you use stay on very well? I have tried so many primers and they always transfer to top. I have hooded eyes… What’s been the best for putting lipstick in?
Thank you for watching! Yes, the Inglot liner performs very well without transfer. The only times it will transfer is if someone opens their eyes too soon before it dries. For lipsticks, I put mine into the AKC palettes, but I've also used Vueset palettes as well.
🍍🍍🍍🍍Amazing Depotting and Condensing video as always Julie. I always get amazing tips from your videos to condense my makeup kit also. ❤💯 Keep up the good work and blessings for 2023 to you and your family.❣
Curious why did you melt lipsticks if you’re just going to scoop the lipstick out of the pallets to use on clients? Won’t they look messy within a month of work?
6:30 I bought the magnetic spatula that AKC sells bc I was afraid of what happened to you, but I ended up with a different problem...my pan flew across the straightener to connect to the spatula and spilled all over my straightener 🤣
Oh my gosh noooo!! I never even thought of that issue.. I was almost about to buy the AKC magnetic spatula after my struggle haha. Hopefully you were able to clean off your straightener!
@@julieruby thankfully I had wrapped it in aluminum foil, just in case lol but after that I splurged and got a Z-potter. I do love their magnetic spatula! I just know now not to use it with things in liquid form
This was so fun to watch! I admire your work ethic in pushing through a late night and following with a low sleep level the next day. I also love 🍍s 🫶🏼
They're linked in my Amazon storefront in the description! Although from what I've heard from others, they're sold out right now, but I would keep checking in!
Not me thinking "oooo, where did you get those sample stacks?!" Then seeing you glued them yourself😅 Would have never even thought of doing that🤦🏽♀ Thank you ADHD brain for not being a practical thinker🤣 🍍
Have you noticed the Viseart 12 pan palettes now that they’re rounded are reformulated - specifically the neutral matted? I bought the rounded version and the powder is much softer and doesn’t last all day. Had to search online for the original version when I replaced
Interesting!! I don’t think I’ve really noticed a super significant difference. Once you spray powders down with alcohol though over time it will cause the powders to get a little harder so maybe that’s why I haven’t noticed. Hopefully you were able to find something that works for you!
Have you thought about using 91% alcohol to moist the powder before pressing them so you don’t have to press so hard? Just like we do when we repair a broken powder product?
If you try it, please let is know how you liked it and if it changed the product. I’m about to redo my entire kit, and I’m not excited on this process honestly haha. And the investment is HUGE as well!! 😣
Hi! I personally haven’t tried this, but normally when cosmetics are pressed they aren’t done with any alcohol. I’m assuming it would press it in the pan too hard so there would be less pigment. Just a theory though!
Glad that i found you, i saw your previous videos and i must say whenever i have doubts regarding my makeup freelancing journey i know where i have to go...😊 You are helping so many of us Thankyou for that 😊
Pineapple🍍 I feel like the highs and lows of this vid are synonymous with the highs and lows of being a makeup artist 😂 you had me chuckling the whole way through
Are you talking about the Artist Kit Company things? If so, yes they are an investment but it is a small business so they naturally will be a little more expensive. I did have to save up for them myself!
This was so helpful... Do you know how one could depot eyeshadows from the original palettes but keep them in the pans they come in into the Z palettes.... I having such a tough time depotting the huda palettes
🍍 loved watching this. You put in so much hard work 😭 Newbie trying to get into MUA so I’m binging all your videos. Thank you for all the amazing info. So helpful
Julie! I finally ordered from artist kit company. I'm ordering more lol I'm addicted to condensing. But I'm not sure about getting the box for the disposables? What is the update on them?
What I do to melt creams in pans is, I have a electrical cooker so I turn it on to a low heat just 1 or 2. Then let down grease proof baking paper on top of it. Place pans on that until they melt. And then just pull the paper off the heat. No need to move the pans and then let them set 😎
