Hey all, I´ve created a timestamp for you since we tend to feel too busy to devote an entire hour of our time when we don´t know what to expect, apart from the information overload era we live in nowadays. Thank you for your time, all the amazing responses and stay tuned for a lot more cool things on an upcoming new channel! 1:11 Feeling on top the world. Grateful that Tao is doing his work. 2:05 Appreciating the small things during the era of information overload is something I wouild have never seen myself doing. 2:50 Introduction. 3:30 ‘Normal’ is just perspective. 4:15 Used to feel lost, like an alien in my own environment. Nowadays I’ve come to realise everybody just acts like they know what’s going on when in reality nobody has a clue. 6:54 Life as a rollercoaster. Sounds kind of cheesy but suffering is a necessary evil, needed for growth. We resist and try to escape suffering but as soon as we embrace it, we overcome and learn. 8:58 Gained a lot of weight (118 KG). Realised that all these “Get fit/slim fast programs” were complete and utter nonsense so I started doing my own research. 10:10 Always hated school even though I loved to learn. Realised that nobody is dumb or stupid, some just become insecure and gain an aversion/resistance to learning because they don’t fit into the standard system. 11:00 Realised I had to educate myself if I wanted to stick with learning something fully. After this realisation everything became a lot easier. 13:00 Got out my comfort zone and applied for an internship/job at a gym/health center without any official degree or background. Gathered my courage and wanted to show the manager what I knew. 16:50 Learned to meditate but didn’t do it consistently even though the benefits were amazing. Routines like meditation, breathwork etc. are very potent, yet very easy to not-do. Our minds are so used to racing and overstimulation that taking a simple moment for yourself can sometimes feel like it’s impossible. 17:20 Tommy quotes a saying: If you don’t have time to meditate for 20 minutes, you should meditate for an hour. 18:20 Practicing what you preach is a lot harder than it seems. It’s always easier to give advice, to focus on others instead of on yourself. 19:09 A main life lesson is that it always comes in ups and downs. When you feel on top of the world, life might unexcitingly hit you in the face. However once you realise it becomes easier and easier to bounce back, you maintain hope and learn to stay positive even through the worst of things! 19:48 Tommy: “Depression is a liar”. When you’re depressed it feels like there’s no way out, like you will feel this way forever and see or feel past this feeling. 20:44: Depression kept hitting me when I least expected it and felt like I had found a method to deal with it. First exercise was enough, later I had to add nutrition, meditation and so forth. This is how the Embrace Approach organically started to develop. After years I realised I had a routine down that worked for me whenever things started to get rough. Now I know that whatever happens next, I will always be able to bounce back and feel stronger than ever before. Embrace your depression and sooner or later you will realise that suffering is growth and it wasn’t for nothing! 21:09 Some people are afraid to talk about their depression because they don’t feel like they have the right to complain. 22:20 A single change in your key habit can cause a domino effect into feeling better. 23:20 In the end you realise you have to find your way. As soon as you found that way, that’s when the hope stays. 24:14: Realise that you are enough at any given point in time. Don’t measure yourself to others. Don’t seek validation but start to appreciate yourself for who you are, even if you feel like a different person each day. Even as a coach you sometimes feel like you need to set the right example and put up a façade. 26:20: The helper syndrome had me feeling like I had a few fulltime jobs. Doing everything for everybody else is not self-love but quite the opposite. 27:10 Easy choices in most cases are short term satisfaction, the harder most disciplined choices won’t pay off right away but if you can stick with them, you will see lasting change. 29:10 Every form of stress adds up, physical and mental so be careful! Even nutrition can be stress. Good food will keep you going, bad food will cause stress in your system. Also keep in mind that supermarkets are set up to play with your instant gratification reward system. 31:30 Learn to forgive yourself if you make bad choices. Don’t stay in that negative vibe but pick yourself up again! 32:25 Depression is a negative feeling based upon patterns from the past, anxiety is projection of negative patterns into the future. Very cheesy but learn to stay in the now and you will enter a state of flow where everything seems to come naturally! 34:50 Dopamine: Everybody gets brainwashed that instant gratification is the way to go. This is how marketing works. 36:00 Stop being result oriented but focus on your path! Results will come if you simply do your thing every day. Being too result oriented will trigger anxiety and block you from actually getting there! Tommy: “You have to fall in love with the process”. 38:20 Take a picture of yourself on the first day you decide to change. Compare it to a picture you take a few months later. It’s a great motivation if you have no one to pat you on the back and tell you you’re doing well. 40:00 Repeating myself: Do not measure yourself to others. Everybody is just as far in life, just from a different perspective. 41:41 Nobody is dumb. Do not think of yourself as stupid. People create an aversion (resistance) to learning because they didn’t fit the method of education taught in school. As soon as people try to teach you something, you might close off because of insecurity. 42:33 Start with the Why. “Why Great Leader Inspire To Action”. An absolute MUST-WATCH by Simon Sinek. Pause the podcast and go watch it to understand the part around 47:00 a bit better! 44:33 E-Motion. Energy in motion. Your feeling is your strongest drive. Find out what drives your passion by discovering what makes you feel good. Like.. on top of the world good. No instant-gratification dopamine boost like gaming, intercourse or substances but try to find something that you would love to do without even getting paid for it. Then do it. Later figure out a way how to get paid for it (the last part often comes way more natural than you might expect. You are probably not alone in your passion so others will be willing to pay if they feel your energy. 45:00 Focus on money and you probably won’t get there. Money is a result. A short-term satisfactory dopamine hit. It won’t buy you happiness (as you see with a lot of celebrities). As Tommy says: Depression doesn’t discriminate. 46:00 It’s amazing to help others, but help yourself first. It’s a necessity If you really want to give it your all. 46:33 Our projects could be the same. When you have the same passion driven vision, everybody that shares it feels like family. There is no competition, only cooperation! 47:20 Comparing the difference between passion driven enterprises to people that are just in it for the money and fame. We’re wasting valuable resources people! Look at the recent competition between SpaceX and Amazon. History is literally repeating itself (before it was flight, then the moon, now Mars). 48:44 Money and fame shouldn’t be a problem and it wasn’t the objective, yet it stood in the way again. What businesses are lacking is trust and loyalty. We will see a shift in business towards ‘real companies’ as people will feel the need for real things again. 49:40 The immense power behind Martin Luther King’s “I believe” speech. It’s the reason why we would continue after failing time and time again. When it gets hard, you really need your ´Why´ to get up in the morning. 50:40 People choosing money over friends broke my heart at times, yet as Tommy said it was also a gift. It really set me free in realising that I’ll be always in it for the passion and in the end that’s the long term happiness. 51:30 A pitfall of giving is giving too much. A big lesson of self-worth is also realising it’s okay to ask for payment in return for your time and skills. Protect your energy. Don’t give too much or you might get taken advantage of and leave yourself physically/spiritually/emotionally drained! People get used to others doing things for them, they often don’t consciously take advantage. 54:00 Again: Sometimes you feel like you’ve learned (and mastered) a lesson, then something happens that hits you right in the face. You WILL become more confident in bouncing back! 56:00 Bro hug after a shoutout to anyone who feels like they need help! 56:50 When you’re feeling low enough, it’s hard (or impossible) to imagine you can get out. We’re here to show you it’s not. And don’t forget your life experience might help others who are feeling low. 57:10 How many people are actually happy on Instagram? Realise that it’s mostly pretense. Real happiness doesn’t need validation or likes. 58:00 We will see more ‘real’ companies in the near future. This fake society nonsense isn’t working anymore. People stopped trusting all these nonsense companies. 58:40 Failing isn’t bad. It’s necessary if you want to achieve great things! 1:01:24 Shoutout to everybody listening/watching. Reach out of you feel like you need help!
